Hello,

This could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.

If you still have trouble with the mobile theme please contact us on our email address at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to your site and wp-admin (login information and admin rights) so we can login and investigate. Please also include a link to this conversation.

Thanks.

Thank you!

Hello,
You cannot see the ads because you use the mobile theme. Please also place ads in the mobile theme ad spots from the mobile theme section of the theme panel
Thanks.

Hello areim,

If you are using the Mobile Theme, the sidebar will not be displayed in mobile mode. Otherwise, if you are using the default theme version, on mobile, the sidebar will appear at the bottom of each page. Do you are using the mobile theme for your side? Please provide your website URL so I can take a closer look and also, so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.

Thanks for the message!

Hey there,

got a couple of questios about the theme.

1) I put a searchbar-widget an a custom link in the header add area.
Now i wonder if i can change the [SEARCH] Button somehow to the magnifier icon ?!
And ofc how i can manage to do this ?

2) is there an option remove the magnifier icon on the main menu ? (don’t need the dropdown search bar)
‘the medium’ (as seen in ur showcase section) modified the searchbar to not be drop down, is this a better way
then change the widget ?

3) Another question is about authors, i read that there is no build in option to show co-authors and so on.
I wonder if it’s possible to change the php files to show more than one author(role: author)
instead of using co-authors plugin and co-authors(role:co-author)

4) Is there a build-in way to show my latest youtube videos automatically on wp, i found only manuall ways
(e.g. youtube-block)
same for facebook posts, twitter. The Instagram-block is doing this already right ?

-if not, would you suggest usig ifttt or wp plugis to do this ? (if you have exp. with this)

5)i got some issues with the moble plugin on wp multisites.
so far i’m running a multisite, and had tg mobile plugin running as network activated.
does it only work if i manually activate the plugin for every site (guess that makes sense for this kind of plugins) ?
Is there any other known problems with the mobile plugin on multisites that i have to think of?

thanks so much,

alex

I was experiencing the error regarding something regarding the tagdiv_Mobile plugin creating a issue on line XX. The only thing my hosting provider thought was to uninstall this app so I could update the theme.

Does anyone know how to reinstall this “mobile” plugin?

Hi,

Sorry but the mobile theme plugin does not have child theme support for the moment. The child theme is only available for the main theme. We will work on this on future releases and improve our child theme support.

Thank you for your understanding.

Unfortunately there is no update proof way of altering the plugin. sorry. You will have to create back-ups of your modification and if the mobile theme plugin gets updated you will have to re-add the modification.
There is no update proof way of altering any file whether it;s a theme file or a plugin file. A child theme does not help much as well. That needs updating as well.

The file you must edit to replace the comments is: http://screencast.com/t/mcalsLhl8q

Hi,

If you use the mobile theme the footer will be a predefined one and it can only be altered with css. If you want to remove the footer logo and about us section you can use this css in the mobile theme custom code section:
.td-mobile-footer-wrap .td-footer-logo, .td-mobile-footer-wrap .td-footer-description{
display:none!important;
}

Thank you!

Hello,

There is no license issue. You probably see the activation message from visual composer. Please read this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
As for the mobile editor , that will only show up once you activate the mobile theme. Until then there will be only 1 editor. You should also check the screen options to make sure all fields are checked: http://screencast.com/t/EnBiqF3rOeh

Thank you!

OK,

If you want to hide the sidebars for mobile phones you can use this code:
@media (max-width:767px){
.single .td-main-sidebar{
display:none!important
}}

Add the code in the theme panel->custom css box.

Thank you!

Hello,

Unfortunately the browsers we tested our theme width are google chrome, Mozilla Firefox, internet explorer and opera. We did not test the theme with the Facebook browser or mobile phone specific browsers. Still you can try to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme. as we have no such reports until now so it could be something on your end affecting the browser.

Thank you!

So I found I could drop the template file in Newspaper/mobile/<themename>.php and it picked it up.

However, I’m using a child theme. I tried adding the file in <ChildTheme>/mobile/<themename>.php and it did *not* work.

How can it be picked up in the Child Theme? As it stands now, anytime the main Newspaper theme is updated, my custom template will be blown away. And I can’t locate it in <ChildTheme>/<themename>.php, as that is the template for the non-mobile version of the file, that is still working correctly.

Thanks,
~Chris

Hello,
I need to edit the comment section of the mobile theme (I want to replace the current comment system with Facebook Comments). In previous answers to other clients you’ve suggested to edit the core files of the plugin directly but the problem is since the mobile theme is a plugin, all my customization will be lost once the mobile theme plugin will be updated. Is there any solution to avoid that?

Hello,
I am using the mobile theme you provided. Why this theme is displaying my website logo and “ABOUT US” in the footer ()? I just want a clean footer with a bar at the bottom.

Hello,

I’ve activated the Mobile Theme plugin from Newspaper. I understand there is a second content block that is displayed on pages – that is not the issue here.

We are using a completely custom template file. This template file is not being pulled in on the mobile version, even though the template is still selected.

Do I need to make a second template for the mobile version? If so, where does it live? Or, how do I get the existing template to be pulled in (I had expected it already would).

Thanks,
~Chris

Hello,

1) Our theme does not have separate backgrounds for pages. There is only 1 background possibility across the whole site. There is however a category background that will affect the posts from that category though if the post have it set as a primary category. https://forum.tagdiv.com/primary-category/

4) the fonts in the theme panel will not affect the mobile version. The mobile version font sizes can only be changed with a custom css. Please provide an example of what post titles you are referring to so I can provide the proper css code.

5) Again. it can only be done with css. Here is a code to make the menu items narrower:

.sf-menu a.sf-with-ul{
padding-right: 15px!important;
}

6) You can remove the search icon from the code by commenting out or deleting this part: http://screencast.com/t/R1WLS2cH

Thank you!

The sidebar should be hidden by default on mobiles. Check our official demo: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wordpress-news-magazine-charts-the-most-fashionable-new-york-couples-in-2016/ You will not see any sidebar on mobiles besides the content. The sidebar will fall below the content on mobile phones or if you use the mobile theme it will not show at all. You must be using a third party sidebar.

Thank you!

Hello kleber,

Unfortunately, our theme does not have any such an option that allows you a way to change the structure of mobile main menu, sorry! Please keep in mind that the theme uses only the same main menu for all devices.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi, I resolved the issue with Google adsense and menu icons. So you can dismiss questions 2 and 3.

But I have another issues now,

4- I change the post title font size in theme panel,
it is OK on desktop view, but in mobile, there is no change,
it is still the same and very big for mobile screens.

is there any way to change them for mobile?

5- Can I decrease the space between menu items on desktop view? there is line spacing option but it adjusts only vertically not horizontally. Because I want to add a few more menu items but there it creates another menu line.

6-Also I couldn’t remove the “search” icon from main menu. Instead I want to put menu items.

Thanks
