Hi,
The disabling the top menu will not disable the mobile menu also, in your case this may be due to some plugins, please check this again.
1. Unfortunately that can’t be done easily, you can try to do it yourself if you like or you can hire a developer to do it for you.
2. Add this css in Theme Panel > Custom CSS to remove the menu items sub indicator:
.sf-menu > .current-menu-item > a, .sf-menu > .current-menu-ancestor > a, .sf-menu > li > a:hover, .sf-menu > .sfHover > a {
border-bottom: none !important;
}
.td-full-layout .td-menu-background:after, .td-boxed-layout .td-menu-wrap:after {
display: none !important;
}
.td-full-layout .td-menu-background, .td-boxed-layout .td-menu-wrap {
border-bottom: none !important;
}
.sf-menu li:hover ul, .sf-menu li.sfHover ul {
top: 48px !important;
}
Add this custom css if you want to style the menu for tablets:
@media (min-width: 768px) and (max-width: 1018px) {
.sf-menu li {
background: black;
}
.sf-menu > li > a {
z-index: 1 !important;
border-bottom: none !important;
}
.sf-menu ul .td-not-mega > a {
background: white;
z-index: 99999 !important;
}
}
Hope this helps!
Thanks
Hi Christopher,
a) I never used www in any place, wp settings, htaccess etc. I double checked anyways. Neither SSL. We never used it. No need.
b) We do not use mobile version plugin.
c) I will pay attention to this item, but we did not change our htaccess for a while now.
I let you know.
Thanks anyways.

I have never gotten that message and we’ve been doing responsive design sites since 2011.
This is more common message when
a) you’re mixing http://www.mysite.com and mysite.com – when you should one or the other, not both (www.mysite.xyz for ecom sites with SSL, no www for all others)
b) you have a plugin still running to generate a mobile site version in addition to desktop version
c) you have a redirect of some kind in place which “senses” a mobile user and is redirecting to homepage, when no redirect is needed; this may have been added to your htaccess file from a former theme or plugin; so double check your htaccess file
Hope that helped 🙂
Google has always recommended optimization of images; and this is why tools like Smushit, and modification of the default compression level in the functions.php file are so important, in addition to properly optimizing the images in Photoshop or similar to the lowest possible size that doesn’t suck BEFORE you upload them.
You can generally ignore any mention of any image needing 1kb of optimization. Remember Google’s info is “recommendation” not “the law.” If your site is over 90 desktop and over 80 mobile you don’t need to worry about “slow site speed penalties” which supposedly now exist. For example, for some images we like to embed the copyright info for legal reasons, which is meta data; technically you can make image smaller by removing that. Well, maybe I don’t want to 😉
Also, FYI, the speed for an average page in the Newspaper demo, is “94” desktop — but you are correct the demo for mobile is getting “under 70” due to the images on the latest demo not being fully optimized, which I’m sure Radu and folks will address soon as they got a bit sidetracked on the 4.0 fixes and updating the docs.
It looks like the demo has dropped to a 68 because Google is weighting image size in the score more than they used to. I understand part of it is that we are serving the 745×483 image size on mobile. The other half of the equation is that the images are not “losslessly compressed”
What does Google want us to do to “losslessly compress” images? I am exporting them in Pixelmator, then running them through “ImageOptim” where the file size is reduced even more. Yet, when I upload them to the site and wordpress resizes them, the images seem to have about 1 KB of extra data in them that Google doesn’t like.
Any ideas on how to reasonably get these images down in size? It seems impractical to download every thumbnail size of every image off the server, compress it, and then re-upload it. Thanks!
hi,
we will take a look.
Thanks for you message.

Found the problem. When you disable the top menu, it disables the mobile menu also. Hope you can fix this in future versions.
Also, when you view in iPad portrait mode, the menu background does not cover the menu items. Please see:
Do you have a bit of code to:
1. Create a little mobile menu (like your mobile menu).
2. Remove the sf-sub-indicator to make menus look cleaner.

Hi,
The logo for mobiles, if you chose one, will be used only for mobiles.
Please send us an URL to your site so we can inspect this issue. Also make sure you use a logo for mobile also.
Thanks
Hi
I solved the problem by using @media queries. Thanks for the help 🙂
Also, is it possible to make the Review section make a little bit colorful in the next update? For example, if the review is 8+ the bar will be Green-ish and if its under 8, it would be Yellow and if its under 4, its gonna be Red?
Let me know, please.
Regards,
Mehedi
Hi,
Unfortunately the ads boxes doesn’t support php codes, you can add the php codes directly from templates if you like.
Thanks
I am not using Jet Pack,I ve disabled all the plugin and tried its not working and also i ve nt done any modification.
Please provide a solution to this.
Hello,
My main menu works on desktop/full size screens.
But on mobile, or smaller size screens when the menu moves to the 9dots style, nothing happens when you click the menu icon.
Thoughts on how to fix this issue?
Thank you.
Okay, I still need to see my mobile menu working. Do you want control panel access?
I figured out what the problem was. It was Supreme Shortcodes that was causing the mobile menu from not working.
If you are using Supreme Shortcodes uninstall and it should work.
Thanks for the info. I’ve updated to v4.1 Newspaper and disabled Jetpack and the mobile menu still doesn’t work. I also tried the menu on an android phone and it doesn’t work.
Note lots of technical issues with Jetpack, which is why I personally don’t use it, including major security issues including this past April.
See tech queries related to Jetpack on the WordPress plugins site:
http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack
Also, there will be no “fixes” to 3.9.2 — all fixes are rolled into 4.0x.
Thanks for the reply. It was working a few days ago and I haven’t added anything new to my site, only updates. Jetpack was the only one I can think of.

The navigation menu is not working on the iPhone. I don’t have android so I can’t test it. I’m using v3.9.2.
How long will this take to fix? A large portion of my audience comes from mobile.
I haven’t updated to v4.0 due to all of the problems.
