For your first question, please notice that this is the normal/default behaviour for our new mobile theme. If you want to change the filter for Big Grid feature, you have to alter the code from the front-page.php core file, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/XvSBymcfGof Please notice that this is not a simple task and if you want to set the filter only from particular category you will have to add other conditions in order to achieve as you wish. Please notice that if you want to change the filter of the Big Grid (for example to be for latest), on your front page you will get the twice posts because the latest articles module will display you the latest posts. So, if you want to display more levels in our theme and your are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, sorry!
For your second request, please notice that the WP Fastest Cache plugin is not tested with our theme and we have no idea about the theme behaviour with this type of plugin and also we cannot say for sure if it will work 100% with our theme. Also, please notice that we recommend using the WP Super Cache because this plugin is tested with our theme and works as properly.
For your third request, please notice that the speed booster is an optional plugin and it is tested only with these plugins – http://screencast.com/t/hcjLnOqh4i2 and if you use other plugins it will be automatically disabled. A lot of people install the plugin without knowing what it does and after that they add many plugins and some of the them are not written fine so the developer took this decision. 7. Sorry. It seems I wasn’t clear with my question at all. Let me build my question in a different way. The issue is the following, let’s say I have the article about Obama. And I set it to 3 different sections – I made the post featured + I put in Politics category and World category. It means that the article about Obama will appear on the home page 3 times. First time in the section with Featured posts. Second time in the section with Politics. Third time in section with World news. The question is how to avoid duplicating posts on the home page when the post is placed in different categories?

9. compression is allowed at the hosting, but he told be that it is not enabled as CLoudFLare do gzip compression by default. Should I ask him to enable additional gzip compression at the server or the compression provided by CF is enough?

First of all, the new mobile theme is superb and for that I really congratulate you for your hard work.
First- The update went without any issues, however I need to know how to change the top grid from Featured to the Latest, preferably from a particular category, if possible, if not the latest from all will do for now.
“top grid – displays 3 featured posts (posts included in the Featured category)”
Second – Do you still recommend to use WP Super Cache with your latest theme update v7.0.1? I have used the WP Fastest Cache and I had some issues after the update, it kept showing the Desktop version instead of the mobile version, so I had to disable it.
Third- The Speed Booster is not working when these and other plugins are active:
-Add Meta Tags
-Advanced Custom Fields
-Coming Soon Page & Maintenance Mode by SeedProd
-Disqus Comment System
-and other plugins
It would be great idea to make the Speed Booster compatible with all plugins and also add CDN and also other caching options and features, this will help speeds up the theme even more, and will also avoid experiencing any errors from other cache plugins.
Finally – how to edit the mobile template? Which file?

1) Please update the social counter by disabling the one you have now and deleting files and installing the new plugin version which comes with the latest theme version. You must have social counter version 4.0 for it to work properly

The theme is compatible with buddypress but that does not mean that theme elements will get replaced by BP. The author box is a theme element that is there with or without buddypress and it was not created to link to buddypress. If you want to redirect the author box or author bio to a bp page, you need to create a 301 redirect: http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/beginners-guide-to-creating-redirects-in-wordpress/
The social information for users can be added in the back-end alone for the theme author box and author info. If you want to hack the theme files and remove theme elements replacing them with BP, then you need to edit the post templates: http://screencast.com/t/TnAyrRRy3ivx You need to replace the author box on posts for every post template you use on your site. Every post style has it;s own file.

I am finally getting around to making my customizations.
The example you provided is very helpful and I think I am close.
However, I am attempting to add this to a plugin and it’s not working.
The purpose of my plugin is to add the content of one specific post to the end of all the posts on the site. I’d like to modify this so I can add choose one post to add to smartlist articles and another post to add to articles that are not smartlists.

I can’t seem to figure out how to implement the Big grids found in the Newspaper template.
I want to use them on the front page of my website.
When I go to my wp-admin – and click on visual composer -> grid builder -> I have no templates.
If I click add new, it take me to a blank page to add templates.
I was under the impression there were supposed to be big grid templates included with the Newspaper theme, as illustrated here: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-1/
Am I missing something? Is something missing from my installation?

There are 2 ways to go about this. If your ad is a custom one and it does not depend on an ad provider such as adsense, then you can simply hide it with css by using the specific page ID: http://screencast.com/t/ETALHowd8
In my case it’s 266 sao I would use css like so:

If you use an ad provider than hiding it with css will not be the best solution as it will still be detected on that page by the crawler so in this case you need to add a condition in the header style file:

As you can see, the post template style 5 do not display the featured image on the post page. So, if you want to have another post template which does not display the featured image in the post page you have to use a bit of CSS code to hide the specific container for featured image. For example, if you are using the post template style 1 and if you want to hide the featured image for the post page, please try to use the code below and place it in Theme panel->Cusotm CSS Area.

We get often this question regarding the differences between our themes. I can tell you that the both themes share the same core so their functionality and performances are similar. The main differences are in designs/appearances and the content area width which slightly differs from one theme to another. Newspaper’s grid width is 1068px while Newsmag’s width is 1021px and the newsmag’s theme grid has been designed to support the borders you notice between sections of a page: http://screencast.com/t/pNkgzN1Kn8Y5
Other differences are also appear regarding features, some of the blocks are present on one and missing on the other, for example you could check the Features menu items from each theme live demo and see blocks, modules, post templates… are present in each theme and the design differences – http://screencast.com/t/p87JJpieJd
Speaking from a development point of view Newspaper theme is more complex then Newsmag. Among the differences I can enumerate these ones:
– Newspaper have more blocks, grids and another widgets which arenot included in Newsmag yet.
– Newspaper have more smart-lists available. There are 8 types of smart-lists while Newsmag have 4.
– more posts templates are available for Newspaper, 14 and for Newsmag are only 9 at the moment.
– ad system offers more options fro Newspaper then for Newsmag
We are constantly working on multiple updates for both themes. Adding further features is always a goal of ours. At the moment we work on a major update for Newsmag theme, new features will be added which will make the theme more complex and also its flexibility will be improved.

@ankush, please notice that the mobile theme does not render the Visual Composer shortcode for your blocks from your pages but only the text with the Big Grid and Related articles will be displayed for your frontend in mobile theme. @Bintmusic, unfortunately, this is not the right behaviour for your mobile theme. Please notice that this plugin will display you by default a Big Grid and related articles because this is the template structure implemented. Please check your plugins list and try to disable all of them which are not tested with our theme because it could create a lot of unknown issues in this regard and leave just our untested plugins. Clear all your caches and check the results. Also, please notice that the Big Grid display all the posts which are in Featured Category. For your second problem, if you are referring to the Related Posts for Post page and also Related articles, indeed is a mini-bug and we will solve it as soon as possible in next future update.

@Ardhi, unfortunately, this is the actual functionality of our mobile theme. Maybe in the future updates, we will develop this plugin and we try to implement new improvements but we cannot say for sure when it will be. Thank you for your suggestions. If you have a lot of pages and if you want to display all your content from these pages for mobile mode, you can to disable the mobile theme plugin. It is just your choice.

Well, they did that previously, I think back with Newspaper 4. But, NP keeps evolving since it’s one of the more popular themes out there — so, NP7 very different from NP4. Usually looking closely at the demos of both themes on themeforest with two tabs open in browser for desktop set to “wide” and then something like an iPad are good ways to compare. Differences in layout, modules, navbar, footers, category/archive pages, fonts/sizes, “preset templates” are different, etc.
Newspaper is the flagship, Newsmag is the alternate take.

Theme’s blocks weren’t designed to be displayed on post content so there could appear some layout issues using them there. In most cases a block will be displayed fine within post content but in some cases could appear some layout issues.
To display a block in post content follow this steps:
– create a blank page, add the desired block on it and set it as you want to be displayed: http://screencast.com/t/fj2q2GkBE77q

To replace related article with a custom block you have to edit the file corresponding with post template used and use do_shortcode like here: http://screencast.com/t/EjxTtrx2wisC

I’m seeing some errors on archives template page after updating everything to the latest version:
I have the following running:
WP: 4.5.2
theme: 2.3.6
VC: 4.11.2
I did an update after a “global” jQuery issue with WP and VC and now I see these errors.

We don’t have a specific filet for permalink title for this page template. All post titles displayed on modules are generated by same functions which is located in td_module.php file: http://screencast.com/t/bBiiiieS4Eno To set a custom permalink for a specific module you have to modify this function or create a new one and call it in the file which generate that module: http://screencast.com/t/pjeVMC9y8ax
This is a complex task which require many customizations and tests in order to be achieved.

Yes it’s working now because i wipe my server and reinstall wordpress theme and newpaper.
but now I have another problem. before I had a visual overview of different predefined template when I created a page. Now I have just their names.
Also when I go to dial in visual product license, it says:
