Hi,

Please notice that we recommend to make the update on a test install, not on live install.
Please make sure that you make the theme update according to our guide -> https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/
Also please check this article about Updating the Core of the tagDiv Themes for Envato WordPress Requirements ->https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
If you are using child theme in Newspaper v9.7.4 this is again working like before, but you’ll need to use the child from the theme package v9.7.4

Thank you for your understanding!

Hi,

Yes, please note that the Newspaper theme update brings a change for the theme implementation. Most of the theme files were moved into the tagDiv Composer plugin as per the requirements of Envato: https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000472383-WordPress-Theme-Requirements. We wrote an article on the subject here: https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/ First of all, please make sure that you have updated the theme to the latest version of it which is Newspaper 9.7.4 because in that update, we were improved the Child Theme functionality and this should works as expected, if the child theme will be used and customized according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/

Hello !

I’ve seen you are using Thrive Visual Editor. On your homepage that it is what causes the problem. Also your blog and other pages look fine to me on mobile versions. Please point out if you have found a specific issue so we can inspect. A screenshot would help a lot.

Also note that we cannot offer support for untested plugins.

Please check your system status to make sure that everything is in order, that may cause lag in your composer speed. Find out more about it here: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-requirements/

Thank you !

Hi,

Please check the system status parameters to be increased according to our documentation from here -> https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-requirements/ Also, please check if your admin-ajax request is not blocked by your hosting provider.

Thank you!

I could create a code for the homepage as well
http://prntscr.com/og3mhw

.home .td-header-style-10 .td-header-menu-wrap-full,
.home .td-header-style-10 .td-header-menu-wrap.td-affix {
max-width: 1128px;
}

It can be added in the same custom CSS in the theme panel.

A background image can be set in the theme panel, but it will apply to the whole website.

You could set backgrounds for the rows containing the content in the homepage
http://prntscr.com/og3os1
And replace the latest articles section provided by the page template with a loop element in a row so it can have a background as well.

Or maybe set a background with CSS, that will work as well. For example something like this (I modified the header limitation width to make it display better in this case)
http://prntscr.com/og3t44
You can use an image of your choosing, here is the code if you want to give it a try
https://pastebin.com/cgJh9rjz

Hi,

What WordPress version are you using? The super cache plugin is compatible with the latest version, should work fine with older as well – https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-super-cache/
I tried activating it, it works fine it seems – http://prntscr.com/ofnjhx with the latest theme and WordPress.

Note that some hosting providers have their own caching however, so they could disable or block users from installing specific caching plugins. You could contact them and ask if this is the case.

Best to ask them to make modifications as mentioned in the requirements guide, if possible. There could be a preferred method of doing it, or a specific setting/location that has to be used.

Thanks
