Hello,
Please increase your memory limit in wp-config to 256MB. use this guide to also increase the other required parameters: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Thank you!
Hi,
What exactly is happening? When is this happening, or what are you doing before it happens? What are you adjusting in the theme?
Be sure to check the theme requirements guide carefully, top to bottom
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Insufficient resources can cause problems. For composer loading problems also check these topics
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/gray-page-tagdiv/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/javascript-error-td-composer-wont-load/
Hello jesusito,
1)Unfortunately, the theme will not be automatically updated, sorry! You will get some information when a new theme version is released and therefore you should update it via FTP way because this is the surest method in this case. For more details about this way, please read here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
2)Please notice that if you have purchased our theme, the updates will be for life, for free.
3)The Category Description can be changed or edited from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/fibvZ7nfbI Also, check your system status parameters to be increased according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
4)Please provide a site and some useful screenshots of the problem so I can identify the problem.
5)Please notice that the theme does not have any such an option that allows you to enlarge the actual size of your logo. The theme only crops it if it is too large. We recommend using a bigger logo if you want to have good results for another header styles which uses the logo in full-width, like Header Style 10.
6)Check the theme panel from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/5CndbdqV8e
7)Yes, it’s possible to delete it but please notice that has no sense because you will break the functionality of the module. If you will delete that button, you will not be redirected to the entire post page.
The code is ->
.td-read-more{
display:none;
}
The result is here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/6oTGTWjiK6L
Thanks.
Hello MOKANA,
Do you have installed the latest version of the theme? Do you have the system status parameters identical with our recommendations? Check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for the message!
Hi,
Maybe there are errors, check with the browser inspector tool in the console. Potential errors can be seen there.
Then check the basics, theme requirements guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Check if plugins are the cause, check theme modification if you made any, check custom code used, also child theme. Check with hosting to see if anything happened.
Hi,
Please check the theme requirements guide carefully, top to bottom
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Insufficient resources or inactive required PHP modules will cause problems using the theme and plugins. Increase all the parameters as mentioned, ask the hosting provider for assistance if needed.
As a note, for most users a WP-memory of 256M would be sufficient if allowed by the hosting.
Thanks
Hi,
That is mentioned in the theme requirements guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
If you have that active it should be visible in the system status
– https://www.screencast.com/t/XYwtYtYs8xw
Increase it as specified if possible and if needed. Or contact your hosting provider and they should be able to do so, this would be recommended.
Thanks
Hello,
Please use this guide to make the proper memory allocation to your site:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Thank you!
Also check the wp memory and set it to at least 96 mb or even 256 mb if you use more than 10 plugins as low memory can also throw a 500 error: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Thank you!
Hi,
@Thakksy What is the problem you are facing exactly? In our tests the composer works properly with the WordPress latest update.
Please try the same as kytmagic did, that is specified in the requirements guide as a fix for some issues, in some cases
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ (bottom of the page)
Thanks
Hi,
I couldn’t say why that is happening, maybe there are not enough resources
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Of that builder has some additional requirements, you could check that as well.
On our side we have not made any tests with other page builders than tagDiv composer and WPBakery which are provided with the theme.
Hi,
So you are entering content in the column text and it is not saved? The content should be saved after you enter it and close the window
– https://www.screencast.com/t/myB6kzkrg
Then save the whole page and that would be all.
This could be related to insufficient memory or other resources
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-requirements-for-newsmag/
Check the guide carefully and make modifications where needed. Contact your hosting provider for assistance if necessary.
After you adjust the parameters, check if the issue is still happening. If it does, try as a quick test to deactivate all non-theme plugins, then check again.
Let us know the result.
Thanks
Hi,
1. The Newsmag theme does not have any options for a wider layout, the tagDiv composer provided with it as well does not. This would be one of the differences between the Newsmag theme and the Newspaper theme which is more flexible and has lots of increased or full width capabilities.
Forcing an increased width by code is not recommended, this will most likely damage the layout and elements inside it.
2. With the theme version you are using Instagram and the social counter (if you use it) will probably not work. Due to changes made by most socials quite a while back, we had to modify the theme to adapt to the new code. This happened in theme update 4.3, changelog here at the bottom of the page
– https://themeforest.net/item/newsmag-news-magazine-newspaper/9512331
– https://www.screencast.com/t/CDHizhmi61jB
Update the theme and Instagram and other socials should work again. Be sure to clear any cache you have after updating. Also the browser cache, or force refresh the page a few times (Ctrl+Shift+R).
3. Be sure to check the theme requirements guide carefully, top to bottom
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-requirements-for-newsmag/
Check if there are enough resources and the required PHP modules are active. Contact your hosting provider if necessary.
There will be problems with the theme and plugins if there are not enough resources.
Also do not edit pages created with WPBakery (Visual composer) with the tagDiv composer, this may result in damaged pages.
Thanks
Hi,
All those notices seem to refer to a WordPress file, did you make any modifications to that file maybe? Are there any actual problems or only these notices?
Do you use any custom post types and taxonomies?
These might not cause any real problems, check if Wp-debug is set to false
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-requirements-for-newsmag/
Hi,
What exactly is happening, are there any errors? Do you use the WPBakery page builder as well? Having both composers active would require increased resources, please check the theme requirements guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-requirements-for-newsmag/
For most users a memory limit of 256M would be sufficient. Make sure the other parameters are set according to the guide, contact the hosting provider if necessary.
Hello juniorcalazansdcsj,
Did you have checked your system status to be according to our documentation from here
-> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ If the problem is still there, please make a full backup to your database to avoid losing all of your data and send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further investigate it closer your setup page. Provide there the link to this topic and give me full FTP access and CPanel.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
I have checked your website and it seems to work as expected, as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/ySBeutNM Your CSS source seems to be loaded as expected. Please ensure that your system status requirements to be according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Thanks for your understanding!
That would be the only way to do it. So you select the field I mentioned and click apply
A success message should appear – https://www.screencast.com/t/IlcUuGvCFjos
Then the logo upload should appear in the admin texts
– https://www.screencast.com/t/EO5R1ffi
Try also to scan the theme for strings – https://www.screencast.com/t/9rzNDBymQkv
That would work I have tested it multiple times. The only way the string would not appear is if there are problems when saving after you select the string. I had this problem previously, I believe I fixed it by increasing the max-input_vars
– https://www.screencast.com/t/dLXeFI9VaKba
Be sure your configuration meets the WPML and theme requirements
– https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Higher than minimum or recommended is usually better if possible.
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I already checked the requirements and i did all the necessary adjustments to met the requirements. Also when i look at the System Status everything is OK. Also i did the following:
1. Deactivated all the plugins and the theme.
2. Then i changed the PHP version
3. Website is functioning correctly, no error 500
4. Activated all plugins
5. Website is functioning correctly, no error 500
6. Activated Newspaper theme
7. Website is down, error 500 again.
Hi,
That is quite an old theme version. It is good practice to keep WordPress, the theme and plugins up to date. The website security and functionality are directly affected by keeping everything updated.
This is the update guide mentioning all the update methods
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
The FTP method is the most recommended and reliable way of updating a theme.
Be sure to review the theme requirements carefully
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Insufficient resources will cause problems using the theme and plugins. Increase all the parameters as mentioned, ask the hosting provider for assistance if needed.
Also check the theme changelog to see what has changed
– https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609 (bottom of page)
Thanks
Hello gdg161987,
Check the requirements list from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ and also, notice that we recommend maximum PHP 7.2 version for better results.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for the message!
Are you by any chance using some language specific characters or other symbols in the sidebar name?
Try with a simple sidebar called “test” for example.
If that is not the case, try with all plugins deactivated and see if the same happens, leave only theme plugins active.
Also check the theme requirements guide carefully
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
If nothing works, we could take a look. Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login and cPanel if possible. Include a link to this topic in the email.
Hi,
Seems there are problems with the theme functionality in your case. I would suggest that you reinstall the theme by FTP, use the latest version (8.8.2)
If you have a previous backup you could try and return to it, if you don’t reinstall the theme as mentioned.
The theme activation should not reset by itself, also theme panel settings should be saved in the database, no matter what would happen with the theme once it is reinstalled they will be loaded. If that is not happening then there could be problems with the database of your website.
Contact your hosting and ask them to check if there are any problems with it, or something unexpected happened with the server.
Also be sure to check the theme requirements guide carefully
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Thanks
Hi,
What exactly is happening? How it is not working? More details would be helpful.
If you plan to use the WPBakery page builder for your website, deactivate the tagDiv composer plugin. There may be problems when both are active.
Also be sure to carefully check the theme requirements guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Hi,
Glad it works, it is very important to check the theme documentation and requirements guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Please let us know if you have more questions.
Thanks
