- NewsmagRequirements for Newsmag
- NewsmagBlock settings tutorial
Hello,
As so many others – I get the Google warning “Server errors (5xx)” because of your theme. I am hosting several sites, two of which uses Newspaper theme – and they are the only ones with this issue.
I have updated to the latest Newspaper theme. I have cleaned up among plugins. Both sites are meeting the theme requirements. I have re-installed the theme on both sites.
Yet, Google is getting 500-error from the following path “/wp-content/themes/Newspaper”.
My server host has looked into it as well and told me it’s “the code in your theme causing the issues”. Considering I am hosting several other websites and a huge amount of people seem to have this issue with your theme – it would be safe to assume it’s an issue with the theme.
In this thread you fixed the users issue, but you are not publishing the fix openly (!?) https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tagdiv-composer-unusable/#new-post
Could you please advise on this issue and in this thread show the resolution to that user.
I love this this theme, from the design to it’s customization options – but this is breaking my site. Google is already punishing me for using Newspaper theme with this error code. It would be a hassle to buy and change theme.
In addition, I just deactivated your composer-plugin and installed the js_composer, is that a fix for this issue?
Thanks in advance.
Olov
Hi,
So you installed the theme and theme plugins and that notice was displayed. Please re-install it, by FTP would be the most reliable method
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-wordpress/
The tagDiv composer should be automatically installed and active as soon as you activate the theme in WordPress themes.
Be sure to check the theme requirements as well
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-requirements-for-newsmag/
Check if the notice is still displayed. Additionally try as a quick test to deactivate all your other plugins except theme plugins, check if this has any effect. Maybe clear the cache and CDN files if used. Let us know.
Thanks
Hi,
That seems to be related to the optinmonster plugin, you could try disabling that and the error should be gone. maybe try reinstalling it or check it’s settings or requirements, if it did not cause problems before.
Thanks
Hi,
Seems the ads provide 403 forbidden errors across the website. Given that all the requirements are met for Adsense there would be no problem

Also there is a troubleshooter here you could try

Thanks Chris for your reply!
I received a technical audit for the site from a specialist, in whose experience I have no doubt, so I try to fulfill all its requirements.
Your reasoning is probably true, but in our Russian-speaking segment of the Internet have to adapt to our main search engine Yandex.
Unfortunately, I am not a professional in the field of SEO, so, again, we have to fully rely on a more experienced colleague.
Thank you Chris one more time! And sorry for my poor English: I tried to explain the situation as clearly as possible. ))
The system status parameters should have to be increased according to documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Hello hoangton,
Please increase the system status parameters according to our documentation from here ->
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Thanks.
Hi,
You can simply update normally, no need for a step by step update. Update by FTP and replace the old theme with the new one
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Be sure to make a backup before, just to be safe. Also review the theme requirements
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
And check the theme changelog (bottom of the page)
Thanks
Hi,
First please check if the composer has been updated automatically
– https://www.screencast.com/t/KrNMbjVQr
Delete it and reinstall it from here, if an older build is used
– https://www.screencast.com/t/nSP4S0JV3
Also try increasing the WP-memory to a more higher value if possible, that may not be enough
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Then activate the tagDiv composer again. Let us know the results of this.
Thanks
So the page you created does not save. What exactly is happening? Check the theme system status and review the requirements
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Also WPML requriements
– https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/
At least 128MB of WP-memory is needed, so you should set it as high as possible.
Hi,
First I see that you are using theme version 8.7.5 and an older WPBakery version (5.0.1). Update to the version provided in that theme package (5.4.7)
Page builder problems can also be caused by insufficient resources
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Please check the theme system status panel and see if it is set according to the documentation. WP-memory can be set higher if possible.
If you decided to use WPBakery page builder for your website, please deactivate the tagDiv composer plugin, when both are active there could be problems.
Thanks
Hi,
If you want to use a previous theme version, you can install it that if you have the respective theme package saved. Or if you made a website backup before updating, restore it.
We are constantly trying to further improve the automatic update for the tagDiv composer, still for some users this seems to fail, then it will remain deactivated (older versions may create problems with updated theme).
In case that happens it will have to be updated manually which should not be a time consuming process. Delete it and install it from the theme plugins panel
– https://www.screencast.com/t/Y8YS1WRB
Update all the rest of the theme plugins you are using after an update. The automatic update will work only for the tagDiv composer and social counter plugin. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Also be sure to check the theme requirements as well, WP-memory may be exhausted

Thanks
Hello,
I got an error when I first tried blank template using td cloud library, the panel won’t load or display nothing. Please take a look on http://prntscr.com/jryesk.
Also, when I tried to load one of the available templates, it won’t load at all. This looks like this http://prntscr.com/jryfrm for over an hour now.
I have followed this tutorial https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ to increase all the parameters required before trying those above, but still no luck.
Any advice?
Hello dmukrecki,
It seems to be a conflicting plugin in your theme. Try to disable all of these, clear all the caches, purge CDN files if you are using the CDN system, check your system status parameters to be according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello lafber,
Ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme installed via FTP way, use only the required plugins and remove all of untested, clear all the caches and check the results. The system status parameters should have to be increased according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello mrdeleon06,
First of all, make sure that your theme version and required plugins have updated to the latest version of them, system status is correctly increased according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
That could be caused by insufficient resources, please check the theme system status panel
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Increase the parameters as mentioned, the WP-memory can be set even higher if possible. Then check if this solves the problem. Let us know.
Thanks
Hi,
Please try to check the theme system status and requirements
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
If the resources are insufficient there is nothing we could do. All the parameters have to be set accordingly, WP memory higher if possible.
Also check with the hosting provider to maybe check error logs, there could be useful information there. Check your other plugins as well. Let us know what you find.
Thanks
Hi,
We will need more details about the problem you are having for a better understanding. What exactly is happening with the theme CSS? The theme does not have any redirect settings for the stylesheet or in general.
Try reinstalling by FTP
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Deactivate and remove theme plugins, install theme again from the theme package you are using. Consider updating to the latest version if you use an older version. Update WordPress as well if you did not.
Check and review theme requirements here
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Test with no other plugins except theme plugins, and no child theme. Check htaccess for redirects. Check with hosting for error logs. Let us know.
Thanks
Hi,
That is most unusual indeed. I never seen this before in relation to the mobile theme plugin. A plugin may deactivate itself if intended by the plugin author, but we did not make such a modification to it. I don’t know what could be the cause of this, also nothing concrete online.
After updating the theme update the mobile theme as well. Theme version 8.8 uses this mobile plugin
– https://www.screencast.com/t/LyYLUByWxq
Check the system status panel, see if there are enough resources
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
If possible please let us know if you find the cause of the problem.
Thanks
First there are a few things you could check. The theme system status panel would be most important
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Most issues with the theme and composer are caused by insufficient resources, they are solved by increasing theme as mentioned. If needed ask your hosting provider to increase them for you.
The next thing to check is plugins, deactivate them all except theme plugins you have installed.
Check if the problem is solved first after modifications made to the system status part, also check after deactivating plugins. Let us know the results.
Hi,
That could be solved by increasing the WP memory parameter
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Try increasing it more if possible and check again. Let us know the results.
Thanks
Hello,
Please increase your wp memory limit to 256 mb in wp-config. Please also make sure you meet other requirements for our theme as well: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Thank you!
Hi,
Try to increase the WP-memory parameter, this is a guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
If needed contact your hosting provider for assistance with the preferred method. If there is still a problem, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login access, FTP and cPanel if possible as well. We will take a look at the issue. Include a link to this topic in the email.
Thanks
