Hello @TradersQue!
We always recommend it before any update, just to be sure nothing is interfering with our theme. You can see which plugin creates the issue by activating back plugin by plugin.
Thank you!
Hello!
Our developer investigated this feature, and obviously there is no other bug with it in the latest update of the theme. It is much more sensible if you have or still use a cache plugin. Unfortunately, you can’t collect the old post views. Sorry! That’s why could be some differences between the default meta and our custom meta used for this feature.
Thank you so much for understanding!
Hello @choicemedia !
We have 3 options for mobile versions that you can use:
1. Responsive version: A responsive version of your website looks similar to the desktop version. TagDiv Composer is used to edit the page.Click on the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB. There, you can see your mobile version and edit or adjust the elements to look better.
2. Mobile pages: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages
3. Mobile theme plugin: The Mobile Theme is a performance-optimized theme included in the main Newspaper theme that only loads on mobile devices. It comes with its own templates and designs for pages, posts, categories, etc., so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. Please see https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ and https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/ for more information.
A full explanation is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
If you need to use mobile version 1 or 2, then you need to uninstall the Mobile Theme plugin and AMP.
Thank you!
So, turning all plugins off then clicking (install update) worked for this error?
Thanks in advance for your help!!
Is this a Jetpack blocking issue, anyone know specifically which plugin?
I don’t work here; but generally best way to update is via FTP; unpack the ‘all files’ zip, then upload all the plugins (e.g., Tagdiv Composer, etc.) along with updated theme files.
That’s how I do it to avoid wonky gremlin issues!
I dont think a screenshot would help to explain my issues in more detail.
In the welcome to Newspaper section under welcome tab it simply reads:
Fast start your Website – Failed to find TGM, Im guessing this is tagdiv Manager?
The actual issue I am having is when I update the theme to 12.6.3.
I lose half the update pack, I believe specifically Tagdiv composer, Tasdiv Library, and standard pack.
I have had to allow a tech on to upload the additional applications a few times in order to update the theme. I believe they thought a plugin was blocking some of the files.
Is this a known issue?
Is there a way around this like buying a new license, disable plugin or allow you on my site to view this process completely as wordpress dont know why its happening either.
Thanks in advance
Dear Calin,
Do you have any update…
I sent you mail yesterday.
Thanks in advance
Hi,
I bought a license for a .eu domain, but now I need to operate a .cz domain
The problem is that Tagdiv has blocked my second domain for the address www.*.eu and thus I cannot connect another domain. But I can’t even disconnect the .eu domain, which is now just redirected.
As a result, I can’t even update the template. Who can I contact so that I can change the license domain to .cz so that the template works as it should?
Looks like we were happy too soon.
After upgrading from 12.4 to 12.6.3 “Popular” does not work.
We use Popular 24h and Popular 48h and it says – No posts because there is no data. If we switch to “Popular” 7d, it works, but only for now, because when 7 days have passed after the update, it will no longer work because there will be no data.
We thought it was working because everything showed up, but it only showed up because previous data for 24 and 48 hours was available.
And now we are forced to roll back to the 12.4 version again, which we don’t like at all, because updating production versions is not always a painless process.
Damn …
And what do developers do??? This problem has NOT been FIXED for 9 months!!!

12.6.3
Theme was working fine, and I started to look through the cloud templates and looking at the live previews. When I returned to work on the page, I suddenly was not able to add any elements to the page.
On pages that have already been created. I am able to duplicate elements and move them around, but I’m not able to add any elements to those pages either.
Prior to this happening, I did not update any plug-ins or activate any plug-ins, I was simply looking through the cloud templates and looking at the live previews.
I emailed screenshots of what is happening. Please let me know if you need anything else.
Thank you
Hello,
I just tested the latest Yoast version and the problem persist, but the good news are that one of our developers marked the bug related to Yoast as done.
Currently we are working to the theme update (RC), once that we complete the tests on package we’ll make the update.
As a temporary solution you can use a prev version on Yoast seo plugin v21.5 or 21.6 or you can use the last Yoast version with the classis editor plugin (from the developer report I see that the problem appears on Gutenberg only).
Thank you!
Hi,
If you want, you can contact our custom work team here, and they can help you update the theme safely: https://tagdiv.com/premium-customization-services/
Here you can find information about the changes that have occurred in each update over time https://tagdiv.com/newspaper/
I recommend that you update the theme manually https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ via FTP/cPanel/File Manager; also if possible, disable extra plugins during the theme update to avoid any problems that may arise and make sure that you have activated the tagDiv Standard pack plugin to keep the website’s look. You can try to update the theme on a staging website. For this version, there is no automatic option for updating.
After you update the theme, you need to update the theme plugins too.
In the worst cases, the settings in the theme panel may be lost (there have been isolated cases); in these cases, after the theme plugins that were previously used are activated, you will have to use a backup for the theme panel -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-export-theme-settings/
Thank you!
Failed to find TGM and error updating.
Also losing cloud templates and Tagdiv Composer
Been having this issue each update, do I need to purchase a new license?
I did. The ajax error persisted anyway. There’s a conflict with tagdiv composer as you well know. Yoast released yesterday a new update. Does it make any difference?
Can you please get an update from the team working to overcame this issue? When will you release a fix? We were forced to disable Yoast so we could keep everything up to date but being a news site that has a huge impact. We need to a solution so we can reactivate yoast. thx
What about i am not able to update license key?
Theme version 8.6 My theme is too old, how can I update it automatically?
https://imgyukle.com/i/ypD4nP
Can we update it from here?
Any update? I have snet email too this morning 8 AM.
Hi joeyfatstat,
This problem seems to not be related to the theme and more related to cache plugin, please check if the cache and CDN is cleared when you publish or update a post.
F you want you can check some guide – Get almost 100% PageSpeed on Newspaper theme
Thank you!
I’ve activated and updated a plugin, which has improved the situation, but there are still error messages due to bad code appearing on the page. How can I access and remove the erroneous code from the header column, so I can replace it with the correct element?
Hello,
I just checked this situation and it appears indeed that the article exists – https://i.imgur.com/Jc5pImt.jpg https://i.imgur.com/fd3payO.png but indeed when you access it you are redirected to homepage, so I checked with a redirect checker and indeed there is a redirect on that link- https://i.imgur.com/Zctaxlz.png – https://www.whatsmydns.net/redirect-checker so you’ll need to find out from where is set that redirect, also you can try to update the article.
Thank you!
Hello,
Until no we didn’t made any changed for the table layout in our theme, but it is possible to be done in latest WordPress updates. What I can do is to provide for you a custom css that will make the tables to have that horizontal scrollbar, the code would work similar with the one from here – https://www.w3schools.com/howto/howto_css_table_responsive.asp but I will need a link to your website where I can inspect the tables and make the code to apply on them.
Thank you!
Hi simchris,
I think I had some information similar to the one mentioned by you (when the theme is updated via FTP to the latest version and it shows in the update section to update even if you already have the latest version), from what I remember most of them solved the situation by making a backup on the site and then pressing the update button in the updates section.
We tried out the latest Newsmag and WordPress versions on PHP 8.2.x, but we haven’t tested them on PHP 8.3 yet.
Thank you!
resolved….
basically, did update via theme panel, rather WP panel > updates > themes
then simply dragged over my FTP copy which has the CSS fixes for generic fonts on top of the “updated” copy.
Solved. Weirdness 🙂
Latest version of WP, and running PHP 8.1x.
Probably some aggressive caching thing in PHP 8.1x behaves differently than 7.4x.
Hi, okay; just updated my beta revamp from 5.4 to 5.4.2 for the security fix.
I am the FTP upload guy; so I don’t update via the theme panel/WP admin. Via FTP I wipe old theme and td-composer folders; then upload new ones so no overwrites and no timeouts on curl and such.
Oddly, under updates > themes, this is showing:
Newsmag
You have version 5.4.2 installed. Update to 5.4.2.
LOL. Say WHAT now? Just for laughs I tried updating the style.css file to 5.4.21 or 5.4.3 and still showed update needed. I don’t want to deactivate and reactivate theme due to settings, although I have custom CSS in the customizer.
Not sure how I’d clear that. I guess I could hit the update button and see what happens, and worst case just upload the FTP version. (Only change I made to CSS file was my usual fix of removing any default fonts like open-sans to move to the more common web-safe font stack.)
Not critical, just an oddity.
