It depends on the customization you made. If they are added in the theme panel then you will not lose anything. If your customization is altering of the theme files, then you will have to make a back-up of the modified files and apply the modifications you made to the new theme files.
All your posts, pages and theme settings will remain ‘untouched’.

Please make sure you update your theme to the latest version by following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and also update the visual composer plugin: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
You need to also uypdate the social counter plugin in newspaper 7 as the old one will not work anymore.
The issue with visual composer was caused by the latest version of wp and visual composer under 4.11

I have created a new sitemap with the recomended seo plugin (seo yoast) and a new post I created using style 11 (video post) shows up properly: http://screencast.com/t/RwoVtFAOYyBt
The smartlist pages will not show up in any sitemap as a smartlist represents a single post, not multiple posts.
I;m not sure what tool you use for creating your sitemap but please use seo yoast as it is tested to work properly with our theme

You can set the realted articles to be filtered by a tag from the them pannel: http://screencast.com/t/9Y0s7BFfA8 but the more from author will simply grab more posts from the same author as the post. If this is the redaction, then the redaction will be used in this field. I;m not sure how you set up authors on your site, but our theme uses the default wordpress user roles. any other user role is not tested. Your plugin (toolset) is also not tested so I cannot say for sure how it should work. If youhave a user named redaction and this is the user that posts the content, then that is the author. if you want to have different authors, yopu need to create users for them and each one should post from his own user id.

Galleries were designed to always open in a lightbox no matter the settings. This is the way our theme was built. There is no way of deactivating the lightbox on galleries.

I have inspected your site and saw that it does not use thumbnails at all but the full images re-scaled to fit the container. Then you can install the demo from the theme panel demos section.

i tested this and saw the error. This seems to be a js error. This is most likely a plugin conflict.
Please deactivate all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then check your site again. If the problem is no longer there, you need to identify the plugin causing the issue.

The script you mentioned is for updating from newspaper 4. you already have newspaper 6 so the script will not work for you. Unfortunately if you have customization done to the theme files, you need to re-add it in the new version as newspaper 7 is a major update and most of the files got changed. The best thing to do is keep a back-up of your modification and delete your old theme files. Install the new theme via ftp: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ and then apply the customization to the new theme files. You skipped quite a few updates so there can’t be any other way around it.
Please make sure you update the plugins that come with the theme as well: visual composer, the social counter, revolution slider. These are bundled with the theme and they need updating if they are to work properly in newspaper 7.

Well the post vies are post views. If you access a category or a page, you are not accessing a post so the view does not get incremented. There are no page views or category views. only post vies.

The visual composer plugin cannot be activated as it;s a free version we provide bundled with the theme. The free version does not require activation but visual composer did not remove the activation message for these versions. You can ignore the message and use the plugin as it is.

I’m not sure how you plan on implementing the video. If it’s a featured video, simply add the youtube link in the featured video spot in our theme. If you want to add it inside the post content it is enough to paste the youtube link inside the post content and wordpress will do the rest. I;m not sure what plugin you use but we have not tested any video embed plugins so we cannot say for sure if it works or not with our theme.
