To be safe, please try to make a full backup to your database, delete the old theme and install it again via FTP with only required plugins which come bundled with the theme packet. Notice that the theme should have to work as properly in default state because it was tested and until now we have not encountered any bad reports in this regard, sorry! Try to make a new fresh install, clear all your caches, purge CDN files if you are using the CDN system and check the result. Unfortunately, our theme does not have any such an option that allows you to search by some custom fields, sorry! You should try using some plugins which have this functionality or also, you should implement this feature on your website through hard coding if you have some good coding skills. Otherwise, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!

First of all, if you are using some untested plugins, please try to disable all of them, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme packet and rule out any conflicting plugins.

Please keep in mind that the Author page cannot be changed from the backend as editing a normal page. Please check your Theme panel->Template Settings and from there you can edit the Author Template, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/JallU7sqsOUp Another alternative for you would be to create your Author page with a normal page, using the Author Block and then you can edit it as a normal page, as well.

The theme can’t display featured image from external sources, the image must be uploaded in your WordPress via media library.
So, if you want to load the featured image from the external link, you should try implementing this feature in our theme because this does not exist on code, sorry! That looks spot on like a js error that causes the theme lazyload animation to break and cause all images to get an opacity of 0 thus making them transparent. Try to disable this from Theme panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/dlNbhT0QO1 Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset CDN files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
@Chito, the latest version of the theme is Newspaper 7.6 which using the Visual Composer 5.0.1. The theme works as properly and until now, we do not have any bad reports in this regard, sorry! Try the theme in default state, without any untested plugins, additional customization and check the results.
