Good day Portugal.
Although we are very pleased with the passage to the final of the Euro, we wanted to work today and is happening a problem ..
We have created a page “Homepage” but whenever you choose a visual block composer nothing happens ..
Thanks

After creating a custom sidebar. I inserted in the custom sidebar the TD_block1, weather widget, and recent post widget.
Everything worked fine and after going back to Appearnce/widget, there was no content shown anymore in the widget containers, only the standard “newspaper” widget container is OK.
I followed Your advice, have installed the latest version of newspaper (7.2), updated the plugins and deactevated them.
Still the same issue. ( its not a plugin issue as it seems)
I even cancelled the custom sidebar, same result.
Kindly let me know what todo . its even urgent because I am running the site now as production site and can´t go back.
Thank You in Advanced

Hello Team,
After updating to the new Newspaper theme, I have noticed that the customisations on my site have changed.
I am not ssure how this has happened as I create a child theme to run independently.
Where the block sizes etc changed?
Is there a way that I can restore to the older version of Newspaper that I had so I can restore my customisations?

Please let me know!

Hi
If you want to use blog template: http://screencast.com/t/Age9KBTme7 on homepage your posts will be displayed in chronological order from newest to oldest. You can chose wht module to use for the layout from theme panel > template settings > blog and posts template: http://screencast.com/t/q4kkjeBfev7D
If you want to use a static page as homepage you can customize it using Visual Composer page-builder. For more detail in this regard please check our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-homepage-how-to-build-and-set-it/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-block-settings-tutorial/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-use-visual-composer/
Let me know if you need further assistance on this and if so please provide more specific detail about what you’re trying to do so I can inspect it closer and get back to you with a more accurate answer.
Thanks!

Hi
1. Please try this solution http://webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/71630/font-blocked-from-loading-by-cross-origin-resource-sharing-policy-no-access-co it worked for most of our users. However if this does not work in your case try to contact your cdn provider and ask him if there is a particular step that must be followed in order to allow access to resources from http.
2. On the indicated pages you don’t have anything displayed on mobile because you’re using mobile theme. To have the content displayed on mobiles add it in mobile editor: http://screencast.com/t/UA31d1PX0y For more details about mobile theme please check this link: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
3. Social Counter display the correct number from facebook now: http://screencast.com/t/xWOjToPB
Let us know if you need further assistance on this.
Thanks!
Hi,
Unfortunately we cannot help any further beyond the guide we provided. Page speed is a very personal thing that is affected starting from the host that you use, all the way down to the content of the site. Speedbooster will move all the render blocking js and css to the footer but only if you edit the code and add the other render blocks in it;s code as the guide suggests. Also speedbooster has a compatibility function that is mentioned in the topic I suggested above. If you do not remove the function, speedbooster will deactivate itself when an incompatible plugin is found.
If you require further improvement that the guide cannot provide, we suggest getting some hired help as this is a very personal thing and there is no general rule that can apply to all sites and we cannot provide any custom work at the moment.
Thank you!
Hi
On our demo we don’t use mobile theme and all page content is also displayed on mobile devices. I assume that you’re using mobile theme and in this case the site will have a different layout on mobile devices. Mobile theme won’t render shortcodes so if you want to display blocks on mobile devices just deactivate it. For more detail about mobile theme please check this link: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Hope this helps.
hanks!
Hi,
Page speed is a very personal thing and we cannot do anything more than guide you through the steps needed as the page speed guide shows. Please make sure you use google’s suggestions to improve your page speed. You can also use gtmetrix as they have more complex suggestions to provide.
Please understand that this is not part of the theme support. We cannot do it for you nor can we provide a general rule that will apply to all websites to get 100% score. Page speed is very personal starting from the hosting that you use all the way down to the content you have on your site. If you use lots of complex elements, lots of blocks, grids, lots of images, then page speed can only improve so much. Please make sure you flowed every step of the guide we provided properly. As a tip on speedbooster: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tinymce-advanced-and-other-various-disabling-speed-boster/
Thank you!
Hello,
@teddigy
Sorry but the description cannot be moved easily from the top to the bottom of the category page. The page is made out of 3 sections the top template, the grid layout and the articles. You will have to get some hired help on this as there is no easy solution to move the description from one section to another. It can be done, but it takes a bit of time and effort to do and we cannot tackle complex tasks.
@Santosh Ronanki
Pleas open a new topic if you have a question. It’s not polite to hijack other people’s topics.
The category template is not meant to be at the bottom of the category page, but rather at the top.
As fopr the popular category, it is a demo block that is added inside the footer template. This block cannot be changed as it;s a predefined element. If you want to replace it with something else you will have to choose a different footer style that does not come with predefined content and add new blocks and widgets to it from the wp widgets area. You can read more about this here:https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
Thank you!
Friends,
I’m running version 7.2 of the theme and I installed the latest version of Visual Composer that came bundled with the theme.
The issue I’m having is that my site is only displaying in one column, even though I have setup a 2/3, 1/3 layout on the homepage. I’ve search the forums for similar issues, but I’ve yet to find a fix.
Any help would be appreciated.

Here my homepage:
[vc_row][vc_column][td_block_big_grid_slide category_id=”882″ limit=”8″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="2/3"][td_block_2 custom_title="DON'T MISS" category_id="878" limit="6" ajax_pagination="next_prev"][td_block_1 custom_title="Everyday" header_color="#f65261" category_id="5" ajax_pagination="next_prev"][vc_raw_html]JTNDZGl2JTIwc3R5bGUlM0QlMjJmbG9hdCUzQSUyMHJpZ2h0JTIyJTNFJTBBJTNDc2NyaXB0JTIwdHlwZSUzRCUyMnRleHQlMkZqYXZhc2NyaXB0JTIyJTNFJTJGJTJGJTIwJTNDJTIxJTVCQ0RBVEElNUIlMEFPQV9zaG93JTI4JTI3Y2F0ZWdvcnlfYmFubmVyJTI3JTI5JTNCJTIwJTJGJTJGJTIwJTVEJTVEJTNFJTBBJTJGJTJGJTIwJTVEJTVEJTNFJTNDJTJGc2NyaXB0JTNFJTNDJTJGZGl2JTNF[/vc_raw_html][td_block_19 custom_title=”Sports” header_color=”#82b440″ category_id=”2″ limit=”6″ ajax_pagination=”next_prev”][td_block_2 custom_title="Featured Business" header_color="#ff3e9f" category_id="8" limit="6" ajax_pagination="next_prev"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3"][vc_widget_sidebar sidebar_id="td-default"][td_block_slide category_id=”8″ sort=”random_posts” custom_title=”Business”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Bogdan,
Thanks for pointing out those suggestions.
Earlier today we did the following and got these results:
* Tried the wp bootser and it didn’t help. I disabled it.
* I added the code in the .htaccess file, it helped a bit.
* We have WP Super cache enabled and configured.
The website is still running slow. Would you suggest fixing leverage browser cache, enable compression, eliminate render-blocking JS and CSS? It would see the images (which we have compressed) are causing slow load times for only the main page.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Ok thank you for the info, one more question, does the mobile theme support post offsets on the homepage just like the desktop blocks?
Hello,
If you struggle to learn the theme’s whats and how’s, please read the documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-documentation/ as we presented the theme options as best we could for our users to learn how to use our theme.
The latest articles section unfortunately does not have such options. That is why you could not find anything about the subject because there is no such option. You can always replace the latest articles module with a standard block and making it infinite scrolling. you can even name it latest articles and select the exact style of the latest section. This is done through block settings: https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/
In order to remove the latest articles , you just need to use a different page template from here: http://screencast.com/t/gTWltfbEBSf
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
Hi,
Well if the homepage post element is not a preferred option, then you can maybe use a block 13 on a full column row to have only 1 post like so: http://screencast.com/t/QIi1wbJqDR, or a block 18: http://screencast.com/t/opkOtl38YE or maybe a block 22 : http://screencast.com/t/aP6WtCVi or 23: http://screencast.com/t/wW5lIXnI7
Plenty of options to chose from. 🙂
Thank you!
Hello,
An option to add such borders will be available starting with newspaper 7.2 which will release today. There will be a new design options tab on blocks similar to this one on row’s: http://screencast.com/t/e8sie1VM
You will be able to add background and borders to your blocks. You can use this guide to update your theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and use this one to update visual composer: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Thank you!
Hi,
The line cannot be removed by itself. There is no setting to separate the line from the header so if you only want the line removed(color changed) you can use this css code:
.block-title {
border-color: white!important;
}
This code will apply to ALL block titles. If you want to target particular ones you have to adapt the code for each one.
Thank you!
Hi
Theme’s grids weren’t designed to display a title and to achieve that you have to edit theme’s core files and modify the code which generate the grids. This is not a quite simple task and you’ll need some coding skills in order to complete it. Other solution would be to use a text block above the big grid like here: http://screencast.com/t/WbLpRWCnbR
Using this css you’ll get the flowing result: http://screencast.com/t/WbLpRWCnbR
.wpb_text_column{
margin-bottom: 15px;
}
.wpb_text_column .block-title{
order-top-color:
rgb(104, 198, 45);
font-family:
Roboto, sans-serif;
font-size:18px;
font-weight:bold;
}
Hope this helps.
Thanks!
Hello,
If the homepage is what you are referring to or any other page, you can use the latest sorting option for each block from block settings: https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/
There is no oldest to newest default setting in our theme. The default is latest articles.
Please provide more details if this is not what you are referring to
Thank you!
HI
I’ve checked your site and noticed that the thumbs are not generated properly. Try to regenerate you thumbnails following this link: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/ clear the caches then test again.
Thanks!
Hi
You can filter posts in blocks by theirs category or by multiple categories. For example you can use a multiple category filter and set the display order by latest: http://screencast.com/t/NPlHsCNFQss2 This sort will display most recent articles from selected categories. For more detail about block settings please check this link: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-block-settings-tutorial/
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks!
