I activated cloudfare because my hosting told me to do it to decrease the page load time. Should i deactivate it? also for the sidebar text it`s not a block. I just need the code to put in theme panel to center align the text so give me the code?
Hi Luca,
Glad to see you are making progress. Cludflare could be causing some issues if different settings are used. We have a guide on it with the settings we recommend: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
Your css above did not work because you use 2 classes that apply to the body. If you use both classes that are used by the same element you have to remove the space between them, so the code will work like this:
.single-post.td-boxed-layout #td-outer-wrap{width:100%!important;}
We use a little tool called live css editor. It’s a chrome extension that helps a great deal with editing css.
As for the implementation request, we try to implement as much features in the theme as we can but at the same time keep the theme as light as possible. It is a very hard decision as we have lots of suggestions and there are lots of cool stuff we could implement but it will only make the theme heavier (and it’s pretty ‘heavy’ as it is).
I will pass this info on to our development team and we’ll see what they decide.
Thank you!
Hello carmene,
For more information about logo and retina logo recommendation size for each header style, please consult our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/logo-favicon/
Unfortunately, I cannot access your website because I get 10001 error. It seems to be a problem with Cloudflare…try to check your hosting provider to fix this problem -> http://screencast.com/t/cYNOEktoXl If you are using a Text block for your Sidebar, you can set the text to be Justify directly from the editor, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/lPaLaQlrFqPn
If is not what you mean, please provide more details about your desired changes so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.
Thank you for the message!
Hi Bogdan,
sorry for the late reply and thank you very much for your support!
With your solution I’ve managed to solve my needs with a little hack, since your code remove the Page style 8 effect.
This code worked for me:
.single-post #td-outer-wrap{width:100%!important;}
Oddly enough this one didn’t
.single-post .td-boxed-layout #td-outer-wrap{width:100%!important;}
I don’t know where my problem comes from.
Maybe it’s related to Cloudflare rocketscript messing with your javascript?
Anyway I’m planning to move away from W3TC and to implement a Varnish + other local cache + optimized deferring in the near future.
100% of the problem is on my side but if you want I am glad to provide you any information you want.
Lastly, I’m using WP performace pack to serve my images on the fly. I’ve seen some php scripts (other than timthumb) that does the job and that can be included in theme development. Why don’t your theme implement that solution in your next work?
I’m sure everyone (including me) will buy that no matter the price!
Regards,
– Luca
Hi,
My site is in cloud, with
memory_limit = 1536M
post_max_size = 512M
upload_max_filesize = 1024M
However, i still have an error when i click one of the category.
There is no problem in homepage or other area.
The error is:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 72 bytes) in ../wp-includes/meta.php on line 835
How can I solve this?
thanks

Hi,
I need to append ?cachen to the url a user logs in and the page is reloaded. I want to keep them on the same page, just append that.
Looking at the wordpress documentation, it looks like I should be able to use something like this in functions.php:
////////
function nf_redirect( $redirect_to, $request, $user ) {
return $request.”?cachen”;
}
add_filter( ‘login_redirect’, ‘nf_redirect’, 10, 3 );
///////
However, this has been ineffective. It just doesn’t work.
So… I’m wonder if perhaps Newsmag isn’t using wp-login.php and maybe has it’s own login script?
If so, I can’t find it.
Can you either tell me where the Newsmag login script is or why my redirect function isn’t working?
Thanks!
Chris
PS: In case you are wondering, the reason is that I use cloudflare and even when a user is logged in, they still get cached content instead of fresh if using the unaltered url. I need them to get the freshest page, and my cloudflare is set up to not serve a cached page if they find ?chachen in the url. After they are logged in, I set a cookie and it’s served fresh, but the first page after log in isn’t set in time for the cookie to be active yet.
Hi Bogdan,
Still not working. I’ve followed your advice but I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
See this http://preview.tinyurl.com/glm3pxu
I’ve cleaned both cloudflare and my local cache.
I’ve checked the syntax (using sublime text).
I’ve modified td_background in main theme plus I’ve recreated the structure includes->wp_booster->td_background.php (already modified) in child theme.
I’m on post style 7 and category style 8.
If there’s anything that can come up to your mind please let me know, also any theme panel settings I might be missing or messing. Thank you!
I tried the same and also disabled cloudflare CDN. But the issue remains.
I have traced down the issue to the class .td-module-thumb.
But if i give a fixed height to this class, it is effecting the submenu thumbnails in the mega menu too.
Hi,
My customer is receiving some comments (or pingbacks) via the Newspaper theme.
I’m not using comments on posts or pages and I don’t understand the origin of these comments and why I am receiving…
Below is the text of one of received email.
How can I block these comments (or pingbacks)?
Thanks,

Hi,
For the minification option, you can use cloudflare as suggested here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
Also please make sure you use the tagdiv speedbooster plugin: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ (it does not work with all plugins though)
Thank you!
Be sure to check the AMP docs, as a number of hooks/filters *changed” in 0.3.1 — so any tutorials written first week of Feb. with v.0.2 might no longer work. But good link 🙂
UPDATES 2/25:
WINDOWS SERVERS/BLANK PAGES:
They have found potential issue with some folks having blank AMP page, due to Windows vs Unix/Linux.
CLOUDFLARE:
If you are using the Cloudflare plugin for WordPress, turn off the “HTTPS Protocol Rewriting” setting in the Cloudflare plugin. That fixed it for at least one person from feedback in the support forum.
As a note for all reading this….
AMP is initially intended to help speed up loading of NEWS sites/content/posts; and not strictly intended for corporate sites based on “pages” … or ecommerce/shops.
Reason for this is that many more people read a news item each day than visit your staff bio page, from diverse locations and browsers. AMP puts a lot of the heavy lifting on the cloud/browser side so that what loads from site is as little as possible and has some of the features of mod_pagespeed and http/2 baked in among many other optimizations as well as optimizations for https.
Many of the “complaints” about AMP right now are “waaah, why don’t pages work with AMP — you suck!!” — which is ridiculous.
Point being, if you have a busy news site, it’s worth buying into. If you have a corporate site about your law firm, or an ecommerce site selling bunny t-shirts, not so much. 🙂

Hi, I added those rules changing my domain and also using cloudfront and broke my site, so had to go to file manager and delete those lines from there. I’m using wp supercache and when I enable the cdn option, although it works, many elements display as a rectangle as in Andrè’s picture. Did you find a way to fix it please?
My website is govideojuegos.com, but although the nameservers are also pointing to cloudfront cdn1.govidejuegos.com up to cdn5.govideojuegos.com, I don’t have enabled this option on wp supercache because of the above mention display problems when it is enabled.
Thank you
Jorge
Cloudflare will likely add an exception for /amp/ layer to not “rewrite” that. (You *might* want to poke them about that, as a customer!)
I was worried mod_pagespeed might mess it up, but that worked with no issue.
Hello guys,
I have installed the AMP plugin and the Glue plugin (YAOST SEO + AMP) but it seems it doesnt work with cloudflare even if Rocket Loader is off.

Thanks for your posts Chris.
It’s helpful !
RTFM:
how to add ‘featured image’ support:

Cloudflare (Rocket Loader; modifies the output of the AMP page, which breaks validation.)

Hi guys and thank you for your answers.
@Chris: I did not mean to merge the plugins CSS and/or JS but rather to make “local” their calls that are made in every site page header. In other terms, I’d like to copy these resources (CSS and JS) locally to my server filesystem and call them from there to avoid the TCP/IP delay overhead. I have already tried commenting the wp_head() and including them straight forward by their local paths but this approach causes malfunctioning to the page load. There is something of “dinamic behaviour” of wp_head() that prevents this approach to work successfully. But what?
@Andrej: I’ve deeply read the Speed Booster approach and I’ve tried it, firstly getting the blocking resources names by means of Google Speed Insights tips. It reports that the above fold blocking resources are:

As you can see, no one of the registered CSS and JS listed by functions.php curresponds to those found by Google Speed Insights! So that I don’t have any ID of CSS and/or JS to use to move their loading in the footer by means of td-speed-booster.php hacking.
What is wrong with that or what could be done instead?
Thanks in advance,
Giuseppe

Hi Bogdan,
Thanks for your suggestions. We’re now using Super Cache & Cloudflare but still far from a decent load speed. I’m trying to add the below to the bottom of the file td-speed-booster.php but getting the error “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ”); ‘ (T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING)”. The position I tried to add this to was the line just below the line ‘new td_speed_booster();’
Please advise how to add the below to td-speed-booster.php without the error…
$this->move_js_to_footer(‘comment-reply’);
$this->move_js_to_footer(‘td-site-min’);
$this->move_js_to_footer(‘jquery-ui-widget’);
$this->move_js_to_footer(‘jquery-effects-shake’);
$this->move_js_to_footer(‘revmin’);
$this->move_js_to_footer(‘tp-tools’);
$this->move_js_to_footer(‘gmap_form’);
$this->move_js_to_footer(‘cfm_main_front_end’);
$this->move_js_to_footer(‘gmap_form_api’);
$this->move_js_to_footer(‘jquery’);
$this->move_style_to_footer(‘td-theme’);
$this->move_style_to_footer(‘js_composer_front’);
$this->move_style_to_footer(‘google_font_open_sans’);
$this->move_style_to_footer(‘google_font_roboto’);
$this->move_style_to_footer(‘google-fonts-style’);
$this->move_style_to_footer(‘rs-plugin-settings’);
$this->move_style_to_footer(‘contact_form_maker_frontend’);
$this->move_style_to_footer(‘jquery-ui’);

Hi,
Unfortunately the js error is still there. I suspect the minification. Please only use cloudflare to minify your js and css otherwise errors such as this could occur. https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
Also you should switch from w3 total cache to wp super cache as this is the recommended plugin.
Thanks.
You can try adding in the IE8 helper classes
some of this stuff
<!-- media-queries.js -->
<!--[if lt IE 9]>
<script src="http://www.send2press.com/wire/assets/themes/magazine/js/respond.js"></script>

<code> <!-- html5.js -->

Hello Edward
Put this code at the end of your functions.php theme file. Change the number you want and the taxonomy if you need. For example, I have changed post_tag and I have put ‘category’ to show category tags.
add_filter( 'widget_tag_cloud_args', 'tj_tag_cloud_limit' );
function tj_tag_cloud_limit($args){
// Check if taxonomy option of the widget is set to tags
if ( isset($args['taxonomy']) && $args['taxonomy'] == 'post_tag' ){
$args['number'] = 25; // Number of tags to show
}
return $args;
}

Hello
I don´t refer to any particular plugin. I refer to cloud tags widget which is situated in Appearance-Widgets. It doesn´t allow to change tags displayed. I suppose that this is related with WordPress and not with newspaper theme.
Thanks
Hello
I would like to reduce the number of tags showed on the website. I have tried to place a category tag cloud on footer but it shows 25 tags, so I would like to reduce them. I have been looking for the option but I can´t find it.
Also, I want to know how I could remove the title “Categories” and display just the tags.
Thanks
Note, technically it’s only loaded once, if at all, as most web browsers actually have that “cached” from visiting other sites with that .js — also the browser usually caches first instance and does not fetch the identical file multiple times unless URL is different.
If you do a page scan with something like pingdom etc. you should see from the waterfall it’s really only being fetched once, if at all depending on browser model (e.g., Chrome has it cached on Google cloud, it doesn’t reload it every time).
Not as big an issue as you might think, except perhaps in ancient browsers which should not be used by anybody like IE7/8/9 or ooooold FF stuff.
