Hi,

Both Visual composer and tagDiv composer are provided in the theme package
https://forum.tagdiv.com/whats-included/
Please check again in the theme package, Visual composer is located in the plugins folder
https://www.screencast.com/t/RAMJqKYssU
Or download the full theme package (all files) again from your themeforest account.

Thanks

Hi,

At the moment there is no space on top of the website
https://www.screencast.com/t/YmZ1kkvJ
I could not say what exactly could have caused that, editing the page with the composer cannot cause something like that.

Thanks

Hi,

That would be the homepage that the demo provides. You can use the tagDiv composer to create more pages. The composer is not difficult to use
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
There are multiple blocks, grids and other elements that you can use. Please check the Features menu in the live demo, where all the theme page building elements can be seen in different layouts
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/

Thanks

Hi,

If you want the Home page to be the actual homepage, you will need to set it
https://forum.tagdiv.com/homepage-how-to-build-and-set-it/
At the moment there is the default blog page as main page, containing your latest articles.
The problem you are describing with the text elements and other blocks could be caused by insufficient resources. Please check the theme system status and make modifications to these parameters according to the guide
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
You could ask the hosting provider to make them for you if needed. If you are still experiencing issues using the composer, you could try as a test to deactivate all plugins except theme plugins and check if this has any effect.
In case the problem is persistent please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login information so we can take a look.
Also paste a link to this topic in the email.

Thanks

Hi,

I am working to switch over to tagDiv Composer for my website. I have some buttons on my home page I created with Visual Composer. How can I recreate those buttons using tagDiv Composer?

Is Visual Composer no longer bundled with Newspaper 8 now that you guys have built TD Composer? I downloaded the latest version of the theme and in Newspaper -> Includes -> Plugins there is only two plugins. td-composer & td-social-composer. I went to use TD Composer a while back and just didn’t care for it. I would like to continue to use Visual Composer. Constantly being told there is an update is annoying though.

Hi all,

this morning I made some changes to my site hp http://www.greenstart.it with tag div composer and now I noticed a blank space on the top of my site. Do you have an idea on what may depend?

Many thanks

I just thought I’d follow-up with the solution to my problem.

For context, I host my WordPress website on WP engine, which takes many precautions to prevent hacking and make WordPress more secure. One of the things it does is force HTTPS in the admin dashboard, even if the WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) options are set to HTTP URLs.

Unfortunately, the tagDiv Composer plugin loads the iframed version of the site (in the whole drag-and-drop editor interface) via the protocol specified via those WordPress options (found under Settings -> General), and not via the protocol that’s being used to access the dashboard.

Changing the protocol in both of those WordPress settings appears to have resolved the issue, but it seems that I’ll likely need to purchase an SSL certificate for the front-end of my website when it eventually goes live, so the change I made to those options doesn’t produce insecure content warnings.

I’ve asked tagDiv to just modify their plugin slightly to load the iframe via the same protocol as the parent (of the iframe) page, as that would resolve the issue in code, rather than having to do so via a particular setup of options (which are stored in the database).

As of now, I haven’t received a response on that, so who knows if that change will be implemented.

[EDIT] I also realized that once my site goes live at the real domain (and not a subdomain of wpengine.com), the admin interface will revert back to HTTP (unless I purchase and implement an SSL certificate, which could be used on the front and back end anyhow), so this is only really a problem during development, but that’s when I will be doing most of the work in the tagDiv Composer plugin anyway.

Hi,

That would be the slider, it is not empty. You can configure it to display the posts you want like this
https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-revolution-sliders-on-demos/
Then place it on pages using the tagDiv composer (save the page and view it to see the slider)
https://www.screencast.com/t/ZzZbFt58OWk
Here is some more information about the tagDiv composer
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/

Thanks

This is wrong, TagDiv shouldn’t have to make this a required plugin when we can simply use other plugins like Visual Composer which works fine. How is it required? The theme is fine without it. Sorry, don’t mean to be a pain but I’m surprised about this. Will I have to deactivate and uninstall everytime I update?

Hi,

Yes that is normal. The tagDiv composer will automatically be activated when the theme is installed or updated. This is mentioned here
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
This happens because the composer is a required plugin, so it should be active.

Hello stranierorob,

Sorry for this inconvenience but please notice that our TD Composer is fully tested with the theme and it should work as expected. Please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further inspect it closer your setup page. Please keep in mind that the problem comes from your part and not from the theme, sorry! Most likely, you have done something wrong with the settings and that’s why you are not able to make this plugin to go. Provide there the link to this topic so we can quickly identify you.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

I just updated the Newspaper theme and it automatically installed the TagDiv Composer plugin! Is this normal? I deleted the theme then uploaded the new theme using the zip newspaper file and then TD Composer appeared activated in my plugins page and had to uninstall it. How can this happen? I should be able to choose which tagdiv plugins I would like to use.

Hi,

Page speed can be affected by many factors. Having complex Visual composer elements on pages can have a negative impact on page speed. I believe that is the functionality of the post grid that from Visual composer. You could try to reduce the initial number of post loaded in the grid, that should have a positive effect on loading speed of the grid.
Also check the theme system status
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
You could use theme grids and blocks to display the posts. These are all the available blocks and grids
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-1/
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/full-big-grid-1/
Use the selection on the right to switch block and grid type.

Thanks

Hello Ryansmccain,

Yes, you understand these concepts well! We recommend using our page builder plugin, being a required and Visual Composer it’s an optional plugin. None of these both plugins are not designed to be used for posts, sorry! To personalize your posts, notice that you can try using the TinyMCE editor from post editor according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-post-formats-for-tinymce/

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

The only modified files from theme versions 8.1->8.11 are the ones mentioned, They were modified for security reasons. The other changes were Visual composer and Revolution slider updated plugins to the latest version.

Hi,

I believe you are trying to create a mega menu, in the header. There is a mega menu with sub-categories or without sub-categories. In this guide you can see how both are created
https://forum.tagdiv.com/mega-menu/
There is no need to activate the Revolution slider. Simply install it from the theme package and if you want import one of the demo sliders
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-install-revolution-slider-v5/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-revolution-sliders-on-demos/
Then it can be placed on pages, with the composer

Please let us know if you have further questions, or you need help.

Hello macmandk,

Hi,

If it happened after the update, please go to your plugins section and deactivate the tagDiv composer plugin. This composer is automatically activated when the theme is installed or updated. It can cause similar issues for pages or posts that contain Visual composer elements.
After deactivating it everything should display like before.

Thanks

Hi,

I don’t know why you would like to do that. This would require modifications to the tagDiv composer plugin. If you want to remove that line this is the file from the composer where you will have to make the modification

I want to customize mobile theme freely.
(e.g. customizing through TD composer or Visual Composer)
Default theme is also fast and great but my client requests more beautiful and detailed main page..
In this case, should I delete TD mobile theme plugin and build new mobile page through some useful plugins?
Could you give me any information please?

Hello,

How should I set the padding or margin or ?? from the row which contains the textblock so that the top of the text is at equal height as the widgetised sidebar?

Please see: https://ibb.co/c2VYMR
Or: http://www.fynis-im.com/mortgages-for-france/fynis-international-mortgages/

As you can see the textblock in the middle is ‘lower’ than the sidebar.

Many thanks.

Very satisfied with the theme and also the tagdiv composer.
