Hi,

On the main theme you can see the shortcode in visual composer when you create an ad box. You can see it in the code as well http://screencast.com/t/7eSMFhgfAYle but it;s simpler to create and box and place the ad you want in it and take a look at the shortcopde in classic mode: http://screencast.com/t/SrqijWYz85http://screencast.com/t/5OzT24ZMcNQ

Thanks.

Hello,

We had our site located on a development site and used an IP address to access and test it, we have now switched it to the actual domain. Problem is, now Visual Composer does not recognize the domain and is asking us to buy a new licence. How do I update the Visual Composer licence to use our final domain instead of the old IP address?

Thanks!

I bought Newspaper theme one week ago, so I have the latest version, but I can’t update Visual Composer.

I did this: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/

Everything was fine during the installation, but I still have the old version of Visual Composer (4.12.1).

I don’t know what is the problem now.

Hello,

I have a static startpage, which normally includes a BigGrid, Textfield, Block 6 and Block 14.

If I open it now on a mobile device, there is a strange behaivor.

On the top featured posts are shown and at the bottom also the latest articles

Instead of the Big Grid (which is not possible to show on mobile theme as I read), the code of the Big Grid is shown

[td_block_big_grid_1 sort="featured"]

Same is for Block 6 and Block 14 which appears like

[td_block_6 custom_title="lorem ipsum" header_color="#5b5eba" category_id="30" sort="random_posts" limit="6"]

I already tried to disable all other plugins expect the approved ones.

Any idea how to avoid showing this lines?
Is it related to Visual Composer?

Thanks in advance

As an update, I tested just now and about half the pages on my site do the menu bar. It seems mainly the ones where I have it loading a block are not pulling up the menu. There is also a second error I am experiencing. None of my parallax or single color background images are loading using Visual Composer.

I am worried to reinstall I will lose everything. How can I reinstall WordPress and back everything up correctly.

I will e-mail you my login so you can take a look before I go further.

Hello SonjaTod,

Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme and the Visual Composer (7.12.1), clear all your caches and check the results. Also, after you have translate your Trending Now from Translations section, please make sure that you have pressed the Save Settings.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the message!

Hello skovbjerk,

Can not you edit or create pages in Visual Composer? Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.4) and also, the most recent version of required plugins (Visual Composer 4.12.1 and Social Counter 4.1). Also, please please try to increase the system status using our guide, in this case, here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
If is not what you mean and if all of these information is not useful for your problem, please provide more details so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.

Hello heisenberg234,

Unfortunately, the Visual Composer is not tested on Posts and if you are using it in this regard, you can break the layout of the theme. First of all, you should enable it for post, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/cSxMnH8tAEZ
If is not what you mean, please provide more details so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.

Hello,
This effect is added from the loading animation here: http://screencast.com/t/4mZvHf4RxW Please change these settings for different results. The animation itself can be affected by plugins as it uses javascript that will break on a plugin conflict. Try this without any plugins. Disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it.
Thank you!

Hello,

Our theme category pages use the loop.php file to populate the page with posts. This is where you will have to modify the code.
There is an alternative though. You could try to use a block from Visual Composer. There you can use the block settings to sort your posts to your preferred sorting option.
After the block is set use do_shortcode function to echo out the shortcode on that category page. The code must be added in category.php page here: http://screencast.com/t/mIrs3SDaaFez

I hope this helps.

Hi,

Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. This could be a simple plugin conflict.

Thank you!

Hello,

Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. This is most likely a plugin conflict. Also if you use a child theme switch to the main theme to rule out any custom code that can affect the main theme.

Thank you!

I am always padding my text left and right, this time I used Visual Composer. I discovered the Inline Ad Unit is not nicely aligned in the center. The padding should actually be ignored for mobile devices. How can I fix this?

Screenshot

On desktop it’s nicely aligned left in the text(as configured in the theme panel-ad settings).

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

1) The 3 sections of the footer were not designed to be identical width between them. The logo container is smaller so there will be more space for the other containers. If you want them justified, you can use this css code:
.td-footer-wrapper .td-pb-span3, .td-footer-wrapper .td-pb-span5, .td-footer-wrapper .td-pb-span4{
width: 33.33333333%!important;
}

2) This will not be a simple reuqest to do. It requires a bit of customization work which we cannot provide. We do not have a customization department so we cannot provide such services. You will have to chosse a header style that comes close top what you need, or hire a freelancer to customize the layout for you.

3) We only recommend using these columns in visual composer: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/ Other layouts could provide ‘broken’ results

Thank you!

Thank you!

Hello,

1) The first issue is a fonts issue that happens when fonts are not loaded from the same source. Usually a cdn server creates this issue. Here is the fix that worked for most users: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/strange-chinese-symbols-replaced-icons-and-arrows/

2) The hover color is determined by the theme accent color oir the block title color you set in visual composer.
the theme accent color: http://screencast.com/t/bZY8Hr9z9w or you can have particular blocks with different hover colors by changing the block title color like so: http://screencast.com/t/pkP16vXwnbyw

Thank you!

Hello,
If you checked every section of the fonts settings in the theme panel and all are the same fonts, it;s safe to assume it’s a plugin that does this. Our theme does not change anything automatically. Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Then test again to see if the fonts are mixed again. If all the settings in the fonts section are left on default they should all be open sans or roboto, both sans serif fonts.
Thank you!

Hello,

This is the most common javascript error we have encountered. It is in most cases created by plugin conflicts or javascript optimization or minify tools. Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then test again. Also check for any js minify/optimization as these tools can also create js errors.
Also child themes can also affect this if you have any custom code in there that is not added properly or simply because the child theme was not updated.

Thank you!

Hello,

The code will not work for the mobile theme as it uses a different smart list and the mobile ads are different from the normal theme ads. The smart list on mobile is not smart list 7 but rather smart list mobile: http://screencast.com/t/vZRVfoRPJVo
It may look similar to smart list 7 but it’s not.
I have not tested this method on the mobile theme. The mobile theme will not render visual composer shortcodes. You will have to take a look at the mobile theme ads implementation and replicate it on the smart list:
Here is the code you need for the mobile theme smart list ad:
$buffy .= td_global_blocks::get_instance('td_block_ad_box_mob')->render(array('spot_id' => 'content_bottom_mob'));
It adds the bottom ad to the smart list. You can place it like so:
http://screencast.com/t/RtyOwKCaF

Thanks.

Hello,

That is not a normal functionality of the theme. The view counter should not reset. Please check for any plugins that might affect the counter. Disable all of them except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. I have tested this on my end but the counter does not reset on updating a post.

Thank you!

Hi,

i have few questions regarding alignment.

1. I have picked footer style 9 and placed 1 widget in each – for footer 1 image, for footer 2 text and for footer 3 again image. They are all aligned left, so left alignment for footer 1 is ok as its then aligned with rest of the theme above, but to be symmetric, footer 3 should be aligned right, while middle footer 2 should be aligned center, OR all to be aligned center, to get at least symmetric between them, while they would be on exact distance from botch side comparing to margin of the theme.
How to do this? Since i m not programmer and i don’t know css, I have tried with custom CSS option and some of your answers to some other issues, but i failed to do it right.
On other side, i have finished similar thing in main page area (3 elements, alignment etc), but there it is easy with that Visual Composer.

2. I need to make header like this:
logo on the left, and in same row, just on right side, to have custom menu or top header menu whatever it can be used. Under all of it standard Header Main menu. Is this possible, and how?

Thanks in advance on time for checking this.

These are just names of the modules, you should change them manually in the site’s composer. You find the block you want to rename, click the edit button on the block and the first thing you’ll notice is a “Custom title for this block:” space, with English name. Replace it with Portuguese. 🙂

So, check you have enough resources from the system tab for the theme.

Generally you do need to allocate more memory to WP, make sure your timeout is not too short for php, etc. This is true of ANY theme running Visual Composer, which is almost an entire new application running inside of WordPress.
