Hello carloschavira,

You do not need to activate your copy of Visual Composer as it’s a free version bundled with the theme that does not require any activation. The only way you can activate it is to buy the plugin and receive a purchase code but you do not need to do that. It is mentioned here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/

Thank you for your understanding!

Hello pokeweb,

I have checked on my site, using the latest version of Newspaper (7.4) and all of the subcategories are displayed, as you can see here -> http://screencast.com/t/GGqfj9BbM0S I guess that your problem being from your side. Disable all of your untested plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out any conflicting plugins.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello,
Please check the page templates section of the docs: https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-templates-2/
The default page template will remove title and breadcrumbs if visual composer is used.
The page bulder + page title will always show it and the page builder + latest will never show it.
Thank you!

Hello veet1975,

I have inspected your website and I saw that your featured image does not display. I have checked your console and I also saw that you have some warnings, as you can see here -> http://screencast.com/t/LBIhdvwpMC I suspected all of them being from your untested plugins which you have used. Please try to disable all of them, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out any conflicting plugins.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hello ashley112,

Please make sure that this type of issue does not come from your untested plugins. Try to disable all of them, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out any conflicting plugins. The theme is fully compatible with our tested plugins and we have not encountered any issue in this regard. If the problem is still there, please try to make a new clean install from scratch only with the required plugins and check the results. You should use the FTP method for installing your theme because this is the surest way in this regard. For more information about this, please consult here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the message!

For me upgrade worked very smoothly. Here are the steps that i followed.

1) I copied the newspaper zip theme via ftp to the my themes folder.
2) Activated another theme.
3) Deleted old newspaper theme from FTP console (filezilla).
4) Extracted the new theme zip file.
5) Activated the new theme from Themes panel.
6) Deactivated Visual composer > deleted > uploaded new VC plugin and activated it back.

You don’t need to ‘activate’ Visual Composer. 🙂

Hi Bogdan,

1. and 3.

site: dveri.news

I made temp test homepage with only problems that i run on, both for point 1 and point 3.

In main area, since i used visual composer, its not big deal to center elements in each of those 3 columns. I know, for any position i can use Design Option inside visual composer, which includes height. Also, i can manipulate height with empty objects. But, i was wondering is there option or css command for Custom CSS option in newspaper theme, to align all 3 columns by height? Now they are all by default stick to up to upper margin, or max vertical height, so is there also possibility for vertically center?

For footer i dont know what to do, as i cant see that visual composer cover this part. So, i used theme for footer, put these 3 elements, and now again i have problem with default horizontal alignment. Now it is default left alignment, and i need or center or option to control alignment for each column.

Thanks.

I have found, that using Visual Composer for my pages, makes my breadcrumps dissappear.
Anyone noticed this too?

Haven’t found anything in the docs, explaining this behaviour.

Thanks 🙂

Hi

I have a page for received awards. I have created it using Visual Composer and four columns filled with raw html. I would like to display four badges next to each other, in chronologically order.

When I place the four badges chronologically they end up under each other, and not next to each other. http://test.ladiesabroad.se/utmarkelser/

When I change the order to not-chronologically, I get all four on the same line. http://www.ladiesabroad.se/utmarkelser.html

What can be done to get them on the same line and chronologically? I cannot use the grid with pictures instead because the grid cuts/moderates all pictures to squares.

Thanks.

Hello,
Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and rest cdn files. Also make sure you switch to the main theme to make sure any code in the child theme does not break the theme. (a child theme is never update proof. It needs updating too)
Thanks.

Hello,
For the moment the mobile theme does not have any extra options and we try to limit the amount of settings on the mobile theme as it will affect the page speed on every new option we add. It will defeat the purpose of the mobile theme. If more options are required you can always use the standard responsive version of the theme. We built the mobile theme for speed. More options will mean less speed and the mobile theme becomes useless as there already is the responsive version that uses visual composer and all the options of the main theme.
As for freelancers, we cannot recommend any as we have not worked with any of them so we are not sure which one to recommend.
Thank you for your understanding.

Hi,

This is one of the new blocks and it is available from the latest theme version. Please check the Visual Composer settings and select all the elements and save – http://screencast.com/t/2MKCMsEybt Most probably that’s why you cannot see it – http://screencast.com/t/xe45g7Ze
Let us know!

Thanks!

Hello,
Sorry but the categories in our theme cannot work like you mention. Our category pages will show posts, not other categories. Sorry. There is no such functionality in our theme. And there cannot be a category page that shows 2 categories. This is a wordpress limitation. You can however do this on a page in visual composer and filter your posts to show the categories that you want and place a redirect from the category tag to the page in question as a workaround.
Thank you!

Hello,
The option is found when you edit a page in visual composer. Please edit your homepage and press the little pencil icon from the first row as the screenshot above shows http://screencast.com/t/p1ZTlcTXLy
You will have to learn to edit pages if you are to use the theme on your site. Please try to learn how you can edit pages in wordpress and add content in visual composer and use the plugin settings as well as the block settings. You will need this information. https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/
Try to find a few visual composer tutorials like for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9SCWjdYWkI&list=PLTbrc9HXDstrx7j3-ORkLpyUidGpOj3WQ
Ignore the front-end editor as it has been disabled in our theme.
Thanks.

Hi,

Please disable all your plugins except Visual Composer and see if the issue is still there. If the issue persist please check this using a wordpress default theme. If it doesn’t work even if using a wp default theme, you will need to re-install wordpress.
Let us know how it goes and send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin access so we can take a closer look. Also paste a link to this topic.

Thanks!

Hi,

Just a note for your update steps, please clear all the caches and purge your files if you use CDN after you update the theme and the plugins. If not you will have caching issues.
Regarding the theme’s plugins update, the procedure is the same like for Visual Composerhttps://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ Of course you can do this also via ftp, there is not problem.
The Mobile Theme is an optional plugin. It is not a required plugin, so you don’t need to use it if you don’t want too, the theme still have a responsive layout and a mobile version like in version 6. You can read more about Mobile Theme plugin here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ The Mobile Theme files cannot be overwritten via child theme.

1. No, the Social Counter settings will not be removed, you only need to check if it is properly configured – https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial-2/
2. The latest Speed Booster version is 4.5 so please make sure you use it with the latest theme version.
3. The Mobile Theme comes with it’s own template and Mobile Editor so you can add content for your pages there and they will not be empty – http://screencast.com/t/4XYf2A8pXM The Mobile Theme will not work with Visual Composer elements and it doesn’t render tagdiv blocks. Like I said above if you want the same content like on desktop also for mobile devices, just do not activate Mobile Theme plugin and it will be the same. If you want to use the plugin you will need to add content to your pages, create other menus and check the Mobile Theme settings from Theme Panel.

Thanks!

Hello,

The most common issue when something does not work properly is a plugin conflict. Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it.
Then test the mega-menu again.

Thank you!

hello,

The top element with the boxes is a big grid element This can be added or removed on any page using visual composer. Please take a bit of time to learn how to edit a page and how to add, remove and set your blocks in visual composer. Here is a brief guide on how to use the plugin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=guxT8HgCBFo&index=2&list=PL6CsDkMaejhqHDywTTazZ-qpBzB8kFSfT and please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/ and this one: https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/
