Hi,

Sorry for the confusion, it was not my intention. I was just presenting the current image gallery elements that can be used in the theme.

I have checked the example you mentioned, for example this one https://www.reuters.com/
I see the homepage is built with grids and blocks, most of them set to display articles from specific categories. I can’t see an actual image gallery in that page.

The theme composer has a wide selection of blocks and grids that can display your posts.
There are predefined blocks and grids – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-1/
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/full-big-grid-1/
Then there are the flex blocks and grids from the cloud library, which can be imported with the cloud plugin – https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Blocks
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/

But the composer doesn’t have a specific gallery element for images. You can either create a tagDiv gallery as mentioned above, try the revolution slider, or use a gallery plugin.

Please let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks

1. I don’t have any other plugins except for the ones that the theme requires.
2. I’m not using any child theme nor any cache plugins.

I just installed the theme on a clean WordPress instance, installed the demo content from the theme, and now I’m trying to change that image with an image that I uploaded in media library. When I try to change the image I get this error.

Hi Tagdiv,
please i want to know how i can make a post with next and back buttons
like this one : https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_animals/td-post-6-animals-that-went-viral-around-the-world/

Thank you very much Calin, yes, I’d appreciate your help on css. Basically, I’m using the newspaper default demo and build my site by replacing my content on it, I’ve set set the width of my pages to stretch row 1400x content, I like to set the default category template and page template to the same width.

I’ve read your recommended post
https://forum.tagdiv.com/create-custom-code-using-the-browsers-inspector/
I have limited css experience, but if you could help me with an example of css modification for a category or page template width, I think I could figure out duplicate the rest.

Thanks!

Hi,

I tested the website with gtmetrix, looks quite fine from what I can see
http://prntscr.com/oiu155
Removing the thumbnails from the page would reduce the page size and improve loading speed. Maybe consider using an image optimization plugin, make some tests with it as well.

The color flash you mention in the header section can be visible in some cases. For a brief moment the initial colors of the header in this case are seen, before the custom colors are loaded and applied. It could even be caused by optimization plugins, same for the background image.
There should be a transition before the background image loads, like in this demo post
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-2015-awards-all-of-the-best-and-worst-moments-from-the-show/
If as a test you deactivate the optimization plugins you are using at the moment, what are the results?

Thanks

Glad I can help.

The mobile theme won’t work with composer content, only what is possible through the simple mobile editor. So displaying a block on phones when the mobile theme is active is not possible. You can check how the mobile theme looks by visiting this demo with a phone or with a browser emulator – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_local_news/

However we introduced in he latest update a setting which can now be used to disable the mobile theme per page or post. So for example the homepage on mobile can be made to not use the mobile theme and will display the content from desktop, while the rest of the website will. This was a much requested feature, now it is possible.
The setting is found in the page/post edit screen in Gutenberg – http://prntscr.com/oisnlc

Please let me know if you have more questions.

I’m a smart girl. I’ve been racking my brain for weeks trying to figure it out.
I used the DEMO on the Heaven Spa – just uploaded and changed out my info.
Easy – peasy.
The only thing I can’t figure out is this logo to the left at the top.
I’ve read everything on here about installing and uninstalling and there must be an easier way???
I just need this one thing – the logo in the left corner that says, “Heaven Spa” gone.
I don’t even need to put my logo in there.
Please help?

Thank you!

Hi Barbara,

Unfortunately, we do not recommend too much to update the theme via such that plugin because it seems to have some delays regarding on the version of the theme and also, it is possible that update to not be correctly made. Our strong recommendation is to update the theme via FTP way because this is the healthy way to update the theme.
Our list of the available blocks can be found here -> https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/

Thank you!

Hello,

I did not change the configuration of the td-demo-header-menu so far.

I can see diffent types of sub-menus in the drop down. Diffent styles of drop down e.g. with and without a pictured link.
Where do I find the configuration of these sub menus so that I can change the set just to one kind of of drop downs?
I did not find the correct edit menu so far :-(.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Regards

Mike

Hi,

You can check the blocks design on our demo here -> https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/
-> http://prntscr.com/oidbuy in this way you can chose the blocks that you want to set in sidebar widgets http://prntscr.com/oiddep or in the sidebar made with tagDiv Composer
Hope this will help you!

Thank you!

why in some of the templated i don’t have an option to “create template”?
also some of the templates i choose have cutted text lines, is it a bug?

no create template option
VS
normal option

I case the above img links doesn’t works:
no create template option
VS
normal option

Also, if i’m already asking a question about templates. Can i convert an existing post to a template? I have uploaded a demo and i like some os the posts there, so was wondering if can just convert them into templates.

Thanks.
Yoni.

Hello Simion,

I am making progress with my sidebar, thank you.

But I am still having a problem with my footer. I have attempted to edit the demo_style.css file. I just simply deleted the lines of code that you highlighted in the file. Was this what I was supposed to do?

I still seem to have a background color that is overwriting my settings in the Theme Panel.

This is not really a concern for the header and main body of my site, but it is impacting the color of my footer.

If you take a look at https://famcraz.com again, you will see what I am talking about.

I appreciate your help thus far!

Dave

When I put my site into developer mode, the top grid does not stack correctly like the default demo for newspaper.

Hi,

Thank you very much for your appreciation. I will try to help with the issues you are having.

In the homepage I see there are lots of mixed content issues, I believe you are in the process of installing the SSL certificate so that should solve itself when it is finished.

The wordpress recent posts widget doesn’t show an image as far as I know. It displays the post title and the date if enabled – http://prntscr.com/oh5ona
You could however use a theme block instead of that widget, and call it recent posts. Sort it by latest so that it shows the freshest posts – http://prntscr.com/oh4olg
http://prntscr.com/oh4ooy

In the footer currently I see that a footer page is set. The theme provides predefined footer templates but it can also display a footer page in the footer location
https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
If you want to customize the footer page, there is an option in the theme panel
http://prntscr.com/oh5qo4

Note that some demos when installed will load a custom stylesheet, containing various CSS customization. The journal demo will set a background color for the website
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_journal/
This will override the theme panel background color it seems, I will make a note of it and we will find a different solution for this demo customization. For the time being you could remove the background color from the demo here – http://prntscr.com/oh5z27 Then the theme panel color will apply. Sorry for this inconvenience.

Please let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks

Hi,

Another way in this case, if you do not want to install the entire demo to achieve that layout, please note that you can import some pre-made sections from the Cloud Library Templates -> https://affiliate.tagdiv.com/#/load/All

Thank you!

Hi,

A tagDiv gallery such as this one can be added in a page
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-aston-villa-beat-liverpool-to-join-arsenal-in-the-fa-cup-final/

Please try as suggested in this topic – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/migration-visual-composer-to-tagdiv-composer-2/

Or you can add multiple inline single image elements, these have the modal option
http://prntscr.com/oh568b

Let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks

Hi,

So you are using header style 1. That is the one the live theme demo uses
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/
There are some margins there, without those it wouldn’t look good
http://prntscr.com/oh4qju
But I could reduce the margins top and bottom to half – http://prntscr.com/oh4rl8

.td-header-style-1 .td-header-sp-recs {
margin: 14px 0 9px;
}
.td-header-style-1 .td-header-sp-logo {
margin: 14px 28px 9px;
}

The code can be entered in the theme panel custom CSS section. Please let me know if you have more questions.

Or you could build your own header with the header builder and the cloud library plugin
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/
There are cloud headers built by us that you can import and modify if needed
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Headers
These headers can be created/modified in the composer. If you want to build one from scratch, use the blank header template.

Please let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks

Hello,

I have installed your Newspaper theme with the Journal Demo. My site is https://famcraz.com. It’s a beautiful theme, thank you!

But I am having a heck of a time getting my Sidebar and Footers to work properly. It seems to be something to do with the code. When I am attempting to edit a particular template using the Composer, the sidebar appears just as it should. As soon as I close the Composer, it reverts back to the incorrect format. Specifically, with my Recent Posts widget, the template is supposed to provide a thumbnail of the image with a nicer format for the title of the post as well as the title of the widget. It does not.

My footer does not show up at all. When I use the composer, I can see a very large footer with a bunch of content that I don’t want, even though I currently do not have any widgets installed into the footer. But when I have the footer setting turned on in the Theme Panel, any edits that I make to the background color is not working. Currently, the background is set to the default of a black shade, but it comes up a white shade. But when I change the text color from white to dark, that does correctly edit the text. I am suspecting that some setting is overwriting any edits I attempt.

This morning, I deactivated every third party plugin I have installed…Still the same problems. Any help would be appreciated. I am not new to WordPress and I spent over 4 hours yesterday trying to figure all this out with no progress.

Thank you,

Dave

Yes Catalin,I am very aware of the demo installation. In fact I’ve already installed it long before at http://demo.marpainfotech.com. But now my site is already developed and ready for production; so I hope you can understand my case.

So seems like without the demo route that’s so obvious, and which I am already aware of, you mean there’s no other way?

Thank!

Hi,

Please note the easy solution, in this case, is to install the demo without content and the layout of the demo is imported and ready to be used on your website. Please note that each demo has a certain custom CSS which can be found here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/YwEwupo8

Thank you!

Hello !

You can import the Art Creek Demo, edit it using the composer so your content page to look in a other way. That would be the simplest method.

Thank you !

Following the 2 latest updates, my website encountered the following issues:

– The social media counter isn’t displaying the logos and the text inside the social media boxes had to be manually centered because it would go too far up by default. It used to look like this.
– There is a big green line on the top of the website, with an arrow on the left corner. Previously, there was a partial line like on the Newspaper Magazine demo. Can the big line be removed? My website used to look like this.

Any help to fix these issues would be appreciated, I wasn’t successful so far unfortunately.

The last thing that has been occurring lately is that recent edits to the website can’t be seen for people who aren’t logged in before some time or before clearing the cache. I haven’t made any significant change to the website (before these updates) so not sure what could be the issue unless a plugin was updated as is acting differently.

Thank you very much.

PS: I also already sent this to contact@tagdiv.com.

Hi,

I would like to display my site’s footer as in your City News Demo: https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_city_news/.

I tried to replicate the Footer Settings in the Theme Panel as per your demo installation but in vain! One of my developer seems to have made the change, and now neither he seems to know how to revert the footer the way its in the Newspaper City News Demo.

I know how to make the change with CSS; but just wanted to know if the same is possible by making some changes in the Theme Panel instead.

Here’s the a link to my dev site: http://wordpress-238021-851975.cloudwaysapps.com/?lang=en.

Thanks!
