Hello
when I try to install default demo the installation process show a message that reports install problem (“tagDiv importer detected an error. The importer will try to recover and continue to install the demo after you click ok on this dialog.” … and suggest to check permissions, turn off debug mode, etc – of course I’ve double check this issues).

After installation process finish no demo pages and no demo posts are created.

I’ve also tried to install the “News Magazine” demo and it works perfect.

How can I solve this prob?

When I use that code (from https://www.screencast.com/t/s4Eq4Jdfdr) the importing of the theme settings work fine.

However, if you try it like this:
1. Use the default theme and then install the Magazine-demo (without content).
2. Navigate to Theme Panel > Import/Export.
3. First of all the code in “EXPORT THEME SETTINGS” does not look the same as the code from the td_panel_settings.txt-file (which it teqnically should do).
4. Just as an example, navigate to Theme Colors and change the Top Bar Background color to yellow.
5. Save and go back to Theme Panel > Import/Export and copy the code under EXPORT THEME SETTINGS.
6. Now uninstall the Magazine-demo from Theme Panel > Install demos.
7. Finally navigate once more to Theme Panel > Import/Export and paste the copyed code.

This should now at least make the top-bar yellow. However it doesn´t. It seems the export-code under Theme Panel > Import/Export doesn´t take the demo-settings into account. All I´m getting if I´m doing it this way is the very first standard settings code that was enabled before installing the demo-theme.

Could it be a bug? I´m only looking for a safe way to back up my theme settings, that´s why I´m so annoying about this 🙂

Hi Simon,

Thank you for your reply. I did everything according you recommendations:

System Status

The result is the same:
Homepage Video, Default Demo

What’s interesting, the other demo templates with dark background (i’ve tested “Car Enthusiast” and “Video News”) work fine!

Video News Demo

Dear admin,

I want to have submenu like you have in this https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ in my site https://www.crowdpondent.com/ so how to do it ? I should install plugin or what exactly ? I read your documentation about Mega menu but it wasn’t very clear and I haven’t the same option like it’s in your screenshots, I’m using Newspaper theme v6.7 and I can’t upgrade because I did a lot of changes.Thank you

Hi,

When you uninstall a demo this will remove all the settings and content that was added. It will leave the website as it was before installing it. The theme panel settings can be found in each of the demo folder
https://www.screencast.com/t/s4Eq4Jdfdr
You can copy the theme panel settings from the demo and import them without actually installing the demo. This should change the theme panel settings as if the demo was installed. I have tried importing the theme panel settings from the magazine demo on the default one, and it changes the theme panel and the website accordingly
https://www.screencast.com/t/pcKm30gU
https://www.screencast.com/t/zfDUHYPQaO7
Maybe you have caching installed or something is affecting the import process if this is not working for you.

Thanks

Hi,

Hi,

It seems the demo has not installed properly. It should look and have the same style as the demo. In this case the style and classes that are specific to the demo are not loaded. Please uninstall it and install it again
https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/
Also check the theme system status and make modifications to the parameters mentioned in this guide, if necessary
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/

Thanks

Hi,

That I understand. I did a few tests last night and I can´t get the demo-color etc. to get exported. I´m doing the following:

1. Installing the demo-theme that I want (this changes the theme colors etc.)
2. Navigating to the export theme settings page and cpying the export code.
3. Uninstalling the demo-theme. The site reverts back to the previous settings.
4. Navigating to the import theme settings page and pastes the settings I just copyed.

This should, if I understand correctly, teqnically at least change all the things in the theme panel (colors, translations, etc.) to the demo-theme-settings (that I exported). However, it doesn´t. Nothing happens to colours, translations etc. Everything stayes the same. As if the backup data (that I copyed) actually was taken from the old settings that rests behind the demo-layout, rather than from the actuall demo-layout.

Could this be the case or are my settings messed up somehow? Thanks

Hello jorgeraidel,

I guess that you are referring to the left vertical menu, right? Please keep in mind that our theme does not have any such an option that allows you to add this functionality at your main menu bar, sorry! If you want to have this feature, you should implement it yourself because we cannot provide custom services at the moment, sorry! This kind of menu is available only for mobile devices, as you can see in our demo preview here -> https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ -> https://www.screencast.com/t/99ndS52YZs
If you want to display more levels in our theme and if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom services at the moment, sorry! Usually, we recommend the developers from the studio. envato.com

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello,

Background color of the Demo Video Homepage on my site is white around Big Grid 6 instead of black (Extra class – import_video_slider_bg?).

Homepage-Video

It’s also white around Ad Box, while should be grey as on your demo site.

Any ideas what could be the possible reason?

Regards,

David

Hi! Just downloaded your theme. Is there an easy demo download or do i have to build the theme from scratch?
I would like to start with it looking like this: https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/

Pagination actived (blok) is the problem.

This web dont have pagination manual active:

and have this bug / error (duplicate pages) https://soyunperro.com/page/24/ this is a big error for google (duplicate).

Demo https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ and encantadordeperros.com have paginatio active, and dont have this bug/error.

How can I repair this bug without pagination? or How can I active pagination out of page?

Perfect 🙂 If I use the theme import/export-function, does that also transfer the specific demo-changes that is made to the css-files? (Like the green lines for example).

Would be great if I could use the original theme export to backup all the settings for the theme, even the demo-specific ones. Is that possible or does it only back up changes made in the Theme Panel?

Hi,

There is no drawback if you install a demo first and then take it from there. One of their purposes is to provide an easy start for a website. You could also customize the standard theme with Css and the theme panel options to make it look similar. The demo will import it’s own settings for the theme panel when you install it.
It all depends on how you want to proceed. You can create your unique page layout and style it like you want, or similar to a demo.

Thanks

Hi,

If you would like to move the title on that block module, you need to edit the module file. There is no option by default to make a modification like that. Each module is predefined and has it’s own style. The file you must edit is this – https://www.screencast.com/t/8ciOaazxZ01H
There you have to move the line of code responsible for the title like this
https://www.screencast.com/t/dCArpZi8
https://www.screencast.com/t/SqXZ3RVxK1t
With a result like this
https://www.screencast.com/t/32z1mgdrEXIi
If you would like to achieve a full width layout, you can use the full grids available. You can see these here
https://www.screencast.com/t/2vgYoZAIX
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/category/grid-full-10/
Also when creating a page with Visual composer it is required to use only this layout
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/
Other layout settings for the rows may not work properly, the elements should be used on the recommended column settings.

Thanks

Ah, so that´s why they couldn´t be changed from the theme panel 🙂

I was trying to recreate the layout of the News Magazine demo on my current install but couldn´t figure that one out. I realise I could just install the demo and go with that, however that will delete all my custom translations and font-settings etc. So will see how I´ll go about it.

Are there any drawbacks installing one of the demos and using that as the theme from there on? Compared to using the standard theme layout and changing it to mimic the demo that I want (which will also let me keep all the font/translation/etc-settings)?

Hello,

I could not see the issue as I have been testing with my android phone and the issue only seems to be affecting iphones. However, the same issue does not happen on our demo so it is not a theme bug. This could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.

Thank you!

Hi,

Each demo has it’s own style that is custom made for it. However it is entirely possible to recreate it.
The homepage is a a page created in Visual composer with the following elements that you mention
The Must read section is block 5 on a full row
https://www.screencast.com/t/kXGPxTa3
The Fashion section is block 11 on 2 columns
https://www.screencast.com/t/OXy1v5Yki8HQ
The Latest articles is block 9 on 2 columns
https://www.screencast.com/t/42gPr5neIZRm
All the font properties for these elements can be modified as well, in the theme panel
https://forum.tagdiv.com/font-customization/
You can see all the available blocks in different layouts here
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/
You can use the browser inspector tool to identify the elements used on the page. Here is a guide to help you
https://forum.tagdiv.com/create-custom-code-using-the-browsers-inspector/

Thanks

Hi,

If you want to change these colors – https://www.screencast.com/t/II2NTobm you could do it directly in the demo stylesheet – https://www.screencast.com/t/8xTMAWqH
Or use some Css code to change it – https://www.screencast.com/t/SUbh4IhJKIh
The demo is custom made and some options are predefined and cannot be changed through the theme panel. You can use Css to change theme when possible, or like I mentioned make the changes directly to the demo stylesheet.
This is the code I used if you want to add it

.td-magazine .td-header-style-1 .td-header-top-menu-full {
border-top-color: yellow;
}
.td-magazine .td-header-style-1 .td-header-gradient::before {
background-color: yellow;
}

Thanks

Hi,
The element is created custom for the dark demo version. In order to re-create it you need to create a tab element in visual composer and only use grids with style 1. Then you ned to add an extra class to the tab element: td-tab-color
Once you did this, you need to copy over the css from the black version into the main style.css file: http://screencast.com/t/2A3bCsQF
Thanks.

Hello wilfredo,

I have inspected your website with the official Structure Data Testing Tool and I noticed that you do not have any errors on your website, as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/2xqwgtZLHC There you can see a parallel between our official demo website and your website. I do not know with what type of tool you have checked your website but please notice that exists a lot of them on the internet which returns various unknown and invalid errors. You have to use only this tool -> https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool because this is official.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

You can create the layout you want using the available elements from Visual composer. Here you can see all the available blocks and big grids that you can be used
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-1/
With these and many more you can create unique designs for your website. Please also take a look at the theme demo’s which demonstrate the capabilities of the theme and what can be achieved through it

I´m doing some testing and just installed the demo for Magazine (https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_magazine/).

One thing I can´t figure out though is where to find the setting for changing the green color on the lines above the top-menu and just below the main-menu.

Where is that setting located?
