The Homepage post is just a Visual composer element that can be used just in any page you create and set as a static homepage – https://forum.tagdiv.com/homepage-how-to-build-and-set-it/ as can be seen in the demo – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/homepage-one-top-post/ Since it is a homepage post it must contain a post to display. If you are looking to have something resembling it’s style you could use other elements like the slide element or a single image etc. You can find most of the elements used in the theme in the demo here – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ in the features menu.

The demo-style.css is part of the theme demos. The css will be loaded only when the specific demo is installed. If you delete these files, and decide to install a demo, then the demo will have no more specific css. The demo will not work properly.

Please keep in mind that our theme does not have any such an option that allows you to add a background for your header section, sorry! If you want to add the background in that section, you should use a bit of CSS code to do that, as background-image which have to be applied to the header container. I saw that your website is a maintenance mode and that’s why I cannot access it.
Notice that below I gave you an example of what you can add some background to your header section.

Please keep in mind that all of these above issues/errors do not happen on a fresh install, sorry! Please try to make a new fresh install from scratch on a new sub-domain, clear all your cache and install only the plugins that come bundled wit the theme packet and rule out any conflicting plugins. Make a new install with FTP method and check the results. You can test our demo to see that these errors do not occur -> https://demo.tagdiv.com/newsmag/

The space is because of the 200 pixels container height added to the text logo on that demo. Please provide a link to your site so I can inspect it and see how your logo will position with the new values. And also mention if you want to change the logo container height just on the homepage or for the whole site?

The theme has a fixed width as seen in the demos – https://www.screencast.com/t/jm4wsSwg6 and it is not recommended to change it because all the elements on the page depend on that fixed width and any modifications to it could cause layout problems most likely. A background ad can be set like this – https://forum.tagdiv.com/background-ads/ which causes the theme to change to the boxed version – https://forum.tagdiv.com/background-introduction/

You can create you page using any of the big grids with different styles available – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-1/ and the same for the blocks – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/ Please notice that the big grids and blocks use different thumb sizes, and you could choose the ones with smaller images if that is what you want. You can not make the image dimensions smaller because the modules on the blocks need a certain thumb size to display and this is the way the blocks were designed, these thumbs being generated from the featured images you set on your posts as explained here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/ Big grids are meant to use big thumbs as seen in the demo here – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-1/ – https://www.screencast.com/t/wKgYqeMEnnrq You need to optimize the images through software in order to compress the size in kilobytes if you want to make your site faster. That is the default theme width as seen in the demo – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ as defined in theme’s stylesheet. All the elements on the page depend on this width and it is not recommended to change it because it will cause layout problems. Also when a background color or image is set the site automatically changes to the boxed version – https://forum.tagdiv.com/background-introduction/ which affects the header style and the footer also. If you want to have a full width header and footer you must clear your background color set in Theme panel->Theme colors – https://www.screencast.com/t/rbJcDOlw and also choose a full width header style from the header styles available – https://forum.tagdiv.com/header-styles/
