Changing themes does not delete your posts; think of a demo “style” as a child theme for the main theme. Just don’t install demo CONTENT; only install demo STYLES. Two different things. Demo “styles” are CSS. Demo content is temp content for webdev work.
You will need to regen your thumbnails after upgrade, just like any theme change.
And of course you should be making both a dbase backup on server of your content periodically; and doing an export of your CONTENT periodically, anyway.

Thanks Chris but I’m not concerned about preserving font sizes – I’m concerned with keeping my pages and posts so my question is if I imported the fashion demo would my current pages and posts be overwritten?
Also how would I make sure my featured images which are in the main 745x483pixels fit the new fashion style?

As in the theme demo, an author page is created for any author with posts; so once you have posts for that author, there will be an author page/index for that author with list of posts and the bio info from their user account setup. Simple! 🙂
You can, of course, create a custom author page template as with all wordpress themes, but the basic author page works out of the box, as it were.
You should export your current settings, probably.
Changing the CSS will change the look and settings, that’s the purpose of using the styles/demos; they change the settings. To go back you would need to reset things. See the theme docs for more info.
It doesn’t wipe everything … e.g., WP settings.
But if you currently have font x at size x set for your post pages; changing to a demo changes the settings — that’s what you’re telling it to do, change all your “design” choices. Basic settings don’t change.

How can I make sure importing the demo won’t overwrite my existing data?
Folks on mobile can’t hover, hence why it’s a ‘tap’ — this is a very common user interface being used widely on the net now that more than half web traffic is mobile.
You can, of course hack the theme to change the behavior, but you might need to hire somebody to do that if you don’t know how.
TagDiv has provided suggestions on how to do this in past forum posts, however, so they might be kind enough to do so again come Monday when they’re back in the saddle.
Anything can be modified in the theme if you wish to spend the time learning to do that; but obviously the theme is sold with a specific UX setup, hence the demo on themeforest.
You can try doing search in forum for this topic over the past 18 months; as it’s been covered many times before; sorry I don’t have the link.

I think you would need to edit the modules you’re using to comment out the comments, and uncomment the view count. It’s a new theme, so good idea to see how the demo works on themeforest.
I’m sure TagDiv folk will provide more specific answer, but with the weekend here if you need to so something “now” – you will likely need to try editing one of the modules you’re using.

@modernmavens I didn’t do anything special other than just sticking to the previous version. I’m looking forward to update to V6 but I decided to wait a bit over the usual updates and corrections since I’m a newbie so my ability to fix significant mistakes would be nonexistent (I don’t even know how to set up a testing clone so when i update i update live, which is… “radical” :)).
Anyway have you tested the V6 demo on mobile to check if it shows the same problems as you are finding? If not maybe you done something wrong. In my case i didn’t touch anything, i’m just using the big slider with no CSS mods, i used to have some but i dropped them when i updated to the Newspaper version I’m using.

Yes, the effect is very beautiful. But I see a difference between versions. In the previous version it slid gently giving a 3D effect. Now in the new version, the image slides with small leaps and lost the charm. I had already visited the demo page and is equal to my installation, sliding jumping jacks. It may seem a silly whim on my part, but I think the Newspeper was so beautiful in its update that could not miss one of its most beautiful visual effects. Look at this I would be extremely grateful for this repair. Thank you!

1. Those style options are not present anymore. In theme version 4 the icons were added using sprites, while now the icons are added suing a custom font which can be adjusted using custom css so you can set their size/color. There aren’t any options available for this so if you need different styles you need to design them yourself or get some to do it for you.

3. Buttons shortcodes can be added to the posts pages even if you don’t use VC page builder there. Please also note that blocks haven’t been removed. You can still use that block you’ve mentioned, it’s block 1 on one column: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/ so you have to use another footer template and set the content you want for it choosing block 1 widget.

The post style 7 featured image should be displayed fine as in the previous version, the image is stretched and has that effect by using javascript code. Unfortunately when you use a list on page and make it megamenu it will not display it. Megamenu for page was not designed for this as also the menu is an unordered list and javascript will stop render a list there. Sorry!

You use a lot of plugins. The speed booster move the js and css at the bottom of the page to Eliminate render-blocking, but not for all plugins. You need to modify the plugin(speed booster) if you want to work with other plugins, but nothing is guaranteed that will work.
Read here: The demo uses the tagDiv speed booster plugin – basically that plugin will make the theme use the compressed javascript file from the theme (instead of the regular one) and it also moves all the stylesheets and javascripts (codes) to the bottom of the page. This may break compatibility with some wordpress plugins (the ones that we recommend when you install the theme are well tested and work perfectly
