Hi.
I’m using Newspaper 6.1.
I’ve installed the theme on my website and want to use the Homepage – Newspaper look.
I’ve gone to Homepage and added the Homepage -Newspaper template.
However when I look at my homepage it is not displaying correctly. The Big Grid Slide is not there nor are all the elements of the theme such as the blocks. It just displays a list of posts and the default sidebar boxes.
However when I install the demo and select the Homepage – Newspaper template, it looks perfect. I have tried to emulate all the settings but it doesn’t work. I’m wondering If I have not applied the theme properly to the Homepage but it looks okay to me.When I try and install the demo without the content it doesn’t work. And there seems to be no signs that there is anything different.
Why is the template not being applied properly to my homepage?
If I install the demo with the sample content, how do I make the Newspaper theme the default for my homepage and remove the other pages so it is safe to use?

From my test the smooth scroll is enable and works on your site compared to our demo which doesn’t have the smooth scroll enabled.
I suggest you make sure you empty all your caches if you don’t have the same result and test again.

unfortunately your server cannot process the demo images and it returns a “Service Unavailable” error message.
The error explained from wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_HTTP_status_codes :
503 Service Unavailable
The server is currently unavailable (because it is overloaded or down for maintenance). Generally, this is a temporary state.
There is nothing we can do… just to recommend you to switch to a more powerful shared host / server. If you cannot use the theme, we can arrange for a full refund.

I got a 2 mb on a pingdom test on your homepage: http://screencast.com/t/Qi4rp3M9 test without plugins and see if there are any differences. Our demo has 1.5 mb: http://screencast.com/t/ZXKMDNGwbZBX and makes 113 requests compared to your front page which makes 174.
If you want to lower that number reduce the no of plugins even more and disable those you don’t use/need or try to find solutions like the one Chris offered to do not load VC on posts.

It’s not a text block.
It’s a “text with title” block and there’s no option for an extra class.
The spacing I’d like to see is similar to what’s found here on the demo site page – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_tech/shop/

Hi I have been updating my themes, menus etc – but the issue is that the http homepage without the www. is still showing up without any changes! How can I transfer them?

still has all the demo content
but http://www.craftbeerworld.co.uk is OK

Please check this guide to update to version 6 of the theme – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/. If you update from version 4 of the theme you also have to run the script, it will import old settings from database and it will change the shortcodes(it is specified in the docs) – http://screencast.com/t/eZxxuqvsTir Unfortunately you will have to re-add widgets on your sidebars, some of them may not be imported or don’t exist anymore.

I would like the background of the big grid to stretch across the length of the screen as shown in the demo of the Video stack http://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/full_screen_preview/5489609 . How do I make that happen I see it is also in the ad block also so im guessing its in the padding?
Sir, I checked out the documentation and tried to make megamenu with sub-categries. But I think I didnt understand the documentation properly. I dont know where I am making mistake. Can you please make screenshot and show me how and where to edit the menu to show the mega-menu both with and without categories? Thanks in advance
But the scroll speed is same in both my site and your demo.
In Newspaper theme the scroll use to be smooth and a bit slow.
That is called smooth scroll, right?
But you see that’s not on my site and not on yours.

It seems to me that the smooth scroll functionality dose work on your site also and it dose work on your site. You can check the newsmag demo: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newsmag/ and yours to compare this as on our demo site the smooth scroll feature is disabled.
There are some differences between newspaper 6 and newsmag coding for it however the smooth scroll work fine on both themes.

I am aware of the procedure to get the script and CSS id’s. However, this particular script is not appearing in the list. Although, a stylesheet related with this plugin (wpproads_standard_admin) is appearing in the list.I am providing a list of ID’s below for review and help.

Hello I am using Newspaper v6.1 wordpress theme. There is problem in my header main navigation menu. My navigation menu is showing something like this: http://prntscr.com/7muz7f Its not showing the side posts with topics and pictures along with sub menus like the one showing in Demo Newspaper theme: http://prntscr.com/7muywf. Can you please tell me how can I fix it so that it should show the posts also along with submenus. Please help me out.

Newspaper 6 should be regarded like a new theme, as the theme was practically rewritten. You can check our demo and see what features were added like smart sidebar(sticky), smart lists, more modules/blocks more Big Grid blocks(not only Big Slider like in version 4) – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/
Also all Visual Composer elements are supported, there is an issue in old version of the theme, many Visual Composer elements are not compatible and are disabled from functions – http://screencast.com/t/tMq0cVUE
It is compatible with bbpress(there are not any customization, use full plugin) and woocommerce you can check in our demo how forum and shop look. Please note that if you update the files modifications and custom css will not work in new version and you need to customize it again.

Having issues. Not my first rodeo with Newspaper. I did not upgrade from v4 of Newspaper to v6.1 – fresh database.
Uploaded Newspaper, Newspaper Child, activated Newspaper Child then VC and TD Social Counter – in that order. I’m getting the VC Menu link for its settings in the admin menu and when creating a page the builder does not show any Newspaper blocks at all. VC is showing me the demo homepage templates loaded into it by Newspaper, but when I use them, the blocks are not editable, only sortable.
Front-end of the site is loading fine. Even uses the blocks from the theme when I use a template to get it rolling, but I can’t edit the settings for it, obviously. Even tried installing and activating the API plugin to see if it would help, but no go.
This is for my main site. I’ve been testing for a few days on my development site, which is located at a subdomain of my main site, and everything has been working BEAUTIFULLY there with Newspaper 6. Really impressed with the improvements. Can’t figure out what’s making VC dumb at the moment.
What’s the malfunction?
