Hi Anamaria,
Which block do you use for this?
I don’t see the option on Flex Block 5 or Flex Block 1
Hi,
I’m glad. I recommend using Flex blocks or big grid flex and cloud templates, because the tagdiv Standard pack plugin is deprecated.
Have a great day!
Hello,
You can try to use this code
.tagdiv-type figure img
{
margin-bottom: -25px;
flex: none!important;
}
Set the code in Theme Panel ->Custom code -> Custom CSS -> https://www.screencast.com/t/St204VtFl3NU
Thank you!
Hello,
Please use this code .td-mobile-content .td-mobile-main-menu {
display: flex!important;
flex-direction: column;
}
Set the code in CSS for both sections and check after.
Thank you!
Cool… wasn’t sure if I could grab one of the Flex Blocks and work straight from there. But I did get some work in over the weekend and was able to create a good starter template for me to build from. I appreciate your help and pointing me to those references!
Hello,
These are the paths => wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/includes/td_config.php => https://i.imgur.com/bQpMgSf.png and this for flex block 1wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/includes/modules/td_module_flex_1.php
Also, please check this topic https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-to-change-the-size-of-thumbs-on-moduleblock/
Thank you!
Hello,
Please activate the tagdiv Standard pack plugin and check after.
Also, I suggest replacing the standard templates with cloud templates and blocks 1 to 25 with flex blocks.
Thank you!
That’s very handy! Thank you so much for that insight! I’m going to start playing with that!
If I may ask, is there a way to export the Flex Block I am currently using? I have tweaked the Flex Block settings to get the look I want, so is there any way I can create a template directly from that? Or am I just limited to the included templates?
Hi,
You can change the position of the elements as you want in the header with drag and drop https://tagdiv.com/flexibility-rows-columns-newspaper-theme/
Thank you!
Hello,
As I said in the other topics, please don’t use blocks 1 to 25, big grid, or standard templates from the tagdiv Standard pack, because it is deprecated. Please replace them with flex blocks, big grid flex, or modules to have access to those options.
Thank you1
Hello,
The code you provided is working properly for all the mentioned categories, and the overlay color appears correctly. However, I have another Flex Block that displays “All Categories” with a “Most Popular” filter.
The problem is that the overlay works for specific categories, but it does not apply to the “Most Popular” Flex Block.
Could you please help me resolve this issue so the overlay color works on all posts, including those under the “Most Popular” flex block section?
Thank you for your support!
Here’s the code you gave me
.td-module-image a[href$=”/music/”], .td-meta-info-container a[href$=”/music/”], .td-module-container a[href$=”/music/”], .single .td-category a[href$=”/music/”], .tdb_single_categories a[href$=”/music/”] {
background-color: green;
}
.td-module-image a[href$=”/architecture/”], .td-meta-info-container a[href$=”/architecture/”], .td-module-container a[href$=”/architecture/”], .single .td-category a[href$=”/architecture/”], .tdb_single_categories a[href$=”/architecture/”] {
background-color: red;
}
.td-module-image a[href$=”/video/”], .td-meta-info-container a[href$=”/video/”], .td-module-container a[href$=”/video/”], .single .td-category a[href$=”/video/”], .tdb_single_categories a[href$=”/video/”] {
background-color: blue;
}
.td-module-image a[href$=”/architecture/”], .td-meta-info-container a[href$=”/architecture/”], .td-module-container a[href$=”/architecture/”], .single .td-category a[href$=”/architecture/”], .tdb_single_categories a[href$=”/architecture/”] {
background-color: red;
}

Hello Kars,
You can choose this filter option tag- current tag https://i.imgur.com/7jVsi1G.png -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/flex-block-settings-guide/ and in this way you will have on the tag template posts to the related tag you are. For the category template, you need to use the category – current category filter.
Thank you!
Hello,
I’m experiencing an issue with category filtering in the Flex Block. In my blog, one article is assigned to multiple categories. However, when I filter the Flex Block by a specific category ID, the expected category does not appear in the output. Instead, another assigned category from the same article is displayed.
Could you please help me resolve this issue? I want the output to strictly follow the selected category ID.
Hello,
Do you have this issue with the category template?
For each category, on the flex block there is a special filter for the current category, which dynamically displays the posts from that category within each category.
The Posts Loop automatically filters the posts depending on the cloud template you set (for example, on the category page, there will be posted posts from that category) https://forum.tagdiv.com/posts-loop/
Thank you!
Hi,
If you want to show custom fields on the blocks, then I recommend creating custom modules or importing from the cloud and adding your custom fields. You can find more details here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/modules-builder-newspaper-theme/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/flex-block-builder-flex-loop-builder/
Thank you!
Hey Anamaria! Thank you for the insight! I am playing with Flex Block 1; I have been able to tweak with the layout settings to get the look I want with good ease. You’re right, much more customization options with this. I appreciate the direction as I’ll work to get all my category pages changed over to this.
ONE QUESTION: Is there any way in the Flex Blocks to add custom meta fields into the mix? Obviously you can do titles, categories, etc. But if I have custom meta fields in my posts, is there any way I could incorporate those as well?
I am using the Cloud Templates; I have fallen in love with the work I have been able to do with those. All my category pages are Cloud templates, and I have even been able to make a post template with a lot of the customizations I have wanted, so I am very happy with those.
Thank you again!
Every category is working fine except for one, which is causing that issue on some Flex Blocks that are filtered by another category. please check the attached

Fixed. Thank you so much!
However, I have another issue. My Flex Block 1 category filter isn’t working correctly. I have a category called “Formación,” but when I filter it, the block displays another category called “Audiencia” instead. “Audiencia” is a separate main category and is not a subcategory of “Formación.”
Hello,
I recommend using Flex Blocks and Big Grid Flex, and deleting blocks 1 to 25 because those come from the tagdiv Standard pack plugin, which is deprecated.
Using the flex blocks, you can change from here the image size on the blocks -> https://i.imgur.com/TY0MHDn.png
Also, I recommend using cloud templates, instead of the standard template from Theme Panel.
So, our theme make thumbs, which are enabled in Theme Panel -> Block Settings => https://www.screencast.com/t/ZvDvpiBFKY3 -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
Also, WordPress creates thumbs => https://www.screencast.com/t/AMVBOZWto
Our suggestion is to take a look at what blocks you use and make sure that the thumbs are active only for that=> https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
Thank you!
Hello,
Do you want to have a different sidebar on each tag or do you want to have only the posts related to the current tag?
You can create a sidebar like in this guide https://forum.tagdiv.com/sidebars-tutorial/, and if you want, you can choose this filter option tag- current tag https://i.imgur.com/7jVsi1G.png -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/flex-block-settings-guide/
Thank you!
Weird issue that just started popping up for me… for this question, I will stick with the category listing pages linked below. They are displaying posts within a certain category using BLOCK 12.
https://tonylaubach.net/category/storm-chase-logs/chase-logs-2024/
Link above shows posts that have a featured image thumbnail. These are displaying at 324W x 182H which is ultimately what I want since it does not crop the image (1920×1080)
https://tonylaubach.net/category/storm-chase-logs/chase-logs-2011/
However here, the thumbnails are showing up at 324W x 235H. I do not understand why there is a discrepancy. Only the most recent uploaded images are showing up at 235H.
The ONLY thing I can trace back to where this issue began was when I imported posts from a previous website. But ONLY the posts were imported, no settings or anything else that I can think of that would lead to this.
Both links are using BLOCK 12 for displaying the posts. But I am getting TWO different thumbnail sizes to display. Any help would be appreciated.
Hello,
I’m using the Newspaper theme with Flex Blocks 1, and I have 15 categories. I would like to assign a unique text color to each category and ensure these colors are applied consistently wherever the categories appear (e.g., posts, archive pages, Flex Blocks, etc.).
Could you please guide me on how to achieve this? Specifically:
1. Is there an option in the theme settings to assign individual colors to categories globally?
2. If custom CSS is required, could you provide an example of how to target each category?
Thank you for your assistance!
Hi,
You need to import the module like a cloud template and to use them on the page you need to use the Flex block Builder. Please check the above guide.
Thank you!
Hello,
Please provide more details about what you want to achieve. You can stretch the row as you want and set a different layout for it -> https://i.imgur.com/bqqhri3.jpeg -> https://tagdiv.com/flexibility-rows-columns-newspaper-theme/
-> https://tagdiv.com/how-to-add-delete-and-duplicate-row-newspaper-theme/
Thank you!
Hello,
You can filter the blocks as you wish. You need to edit with tagdiv Composer, select the block and here you can set filter and sort options https://i.imgur.com/36RhphI.png -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/flex-block-settings-guide/
Please check the block with “No posts” and delete it the offset number; leave it empty with no space or value: https://app.screencast.com/Gh9jDf6t0XtLS
Thank you!
