Hello, I’ve three final questions before I can launch my website with your amazing theme:
1. Is there any way I can have a custom template for a specific category? In particular, I’d like to have the default one, but big grid have to fetch only articles from a specific subcat.
2. I want to use a line with three columns of block 14 in the homepage. I want to select three precise posts. Is it fine if I split the page into the columns each one with one block 14, only one post to fetch and I create three custom categories “column 1”, “column 2”, “column 3” so that I can select precisely which post to show? Is it possible to avoid people browsing “mysite.com/category/column-1”?
Is there any other way to select a precise post?
3. Do you plan to release a new version soon?

Hi, I am trying to figure out how to use on header on my homepage (Header 7 – full logo and ads suppressed on desktop with toggle). And then use the default header with ads enabled on all other pages.

If the page is on the homepage, you really can’t… It loads the excerpt….
As if it was for a individual post or page, you can easily do it by adding lets say

If you want a more flexible big slider or background don’t use the template Homepage with the BG and article list but use the Homepage with just article list. Then insert the big slider as an element from the Visual Composer on top of the page then if you want background Go to > Row Settings of the Big Slide and select Background then > Select Image Paralax and the most important thing is to select Maximum Full Width under Background Override. If you want to adjust the space between the slider and menu use a Spacer / Gap.
The other thing you can use is a Revolution Slider which comes with the theme and it is fully customizable like I did here – http://www.toppcnews.com.

The issue appears to be with the “Homepage” template.
I was able to recreate it creating a page from scratch and using Block 15. And there it goes again. Overlapping content as in the image posted earlier.
Any ideas?

Does anyone know how to tame the beast that is the ‘Big Slide’? I have imported demo data to help me get started and familiar with the template. I have figured out how to edit the homepage, but I cannot figure out how to edit the ‘Big Slide’ element. I have deleted old post, changed, dates and turned some into drafts and private to no avail. It just removes the post from the element, but it does not replace it with anything.
Where do I go to edit the ‘Big Slide’?

Hi, I bought Newspaper theme on 7th of this month, I managed to create a homepage, now my question is about the sidebars. How to make the sidebar’s block 1 to have the same category as the article’s? Also the article title is set to 100% width, I need it within the article container. How to do this?

I have three problems so far in a new installation of newspaper theme
1) BigSlide leaves large whitespace… can you tell me why?

Just starting to find my way around this feature packed theme and have a few questions and issues:
1. (A)When using the animated image slider if I select “medium” as display size it doesn’t work, all images are blown up very big and lose their resolution. It does work once I enter px*px height and width but that ends up zooming and cropping images. I’d like to display them close to org. dimensions. (B.) The slider image buttons (little dots) appear inside the image frame which doesn’t look good, this is solved by using NAVI slider BUT, I don’t want the title to appear on the bottom, is there some code to move the dots below the frame as in Navi?
2. Is there a way to get search results thumbnail previews? I only get text results.
3. I can’t get the custom ad to work in header or elsewhere. I don’t understand why we must use Google code or how to alter the code. Usually for ads you selected the image, paste the URL and done, this adsense code is confusing.
4. Using the default template, I’ve selected ‘blue’ as menu border colour but it doesn’t show up.
5. Using the homepage builder I’m trying to assign 2 plugin widgets; ‘Newsletter sign up’ and ‘events calendar’ to the side bar but there is no option to select them. How do I get them to appear on my homepage?

as i see in the documentation i should be able to secelt different page template if i want to an new page to my web site.
In my case, when i add new page and go to the Page Attributes section, on the dropdown box Template i can select only:
– Default template
– Page builder + latest articles + pagination
– Page builder + page title
I would like to add a page without page title, so according to the documenation i should use Homepage clean as a Template. But i can’t select it, it’s not on the templae list. I see that this template like many others is under Pages section in my WordPress installation.
Why is that ? Please help.

% Ratios and meanings:
0% – 10%: Consider adding more content or revamping your code.
10% – 25%: Content is moderate, but always room to improve.
25% – 70%: Generally good, but don’t over do it.
70% – 100%: If you’ve got higher than about 70% or so then you’ve got a lot of text and not a lot of code, which might sound like a good thing, but could represent spam too.
Is there any solution to update the theme and making it more SEO friendly?

Hi,
The Td speed booster plugin is breaking my homepage header whilst the page is loading?
I have the header set to setting 2 for a full background colour.
When I load my page I see the page move to the right by about 10 px and then flip back into position when fully loaded. Whilst this is happening the header colour I have set in the customization panel reverts back to the original default site colour (electric blue) with white background. The header clicks back into my selected colour once fully loaded….Kinda like it’s loading an original style and then finding the proper one.
The header is ok once loaded but during the second or two of loading it does not look good at all.
Turning the speed plugin off sorts it but that’s not a great fix. Any advice would be appreciated.

First backup the database and the files.
If you don’t move on another host/domain, install and activate the Newspaper theme, then regenerate the thumbs – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-fix-strange-thumbnails/ , set the menus (top, main, bottom), set the sidebar(s), create the main page and set it as a homepage from Settings -> Reading

Can i make a custom “block category” that show events at homepage? Posts must be ordered based on next event first (based on current time), and then the other posts in following order, until the last one, or maybe 4.
It is possible? Maybe if i could insert php code inside block.
