b. Please provide more details about this as I have also tested this but couldn’t reproduce it.
c. That is the way the latest articles work when you navigate trough that section you can use another template for you homepage and use an block to add that section and use the ajax pagination.

How to edit Big Slider and Big Slider Background - topic

Hi there,

I want to be able to set timer for the Big Slider to switch between posts also I want to make the background static for the background of the Big Slider. If anyone of you is confused I am talking about the Home Page template that has background + articles. I have looked into this but its not really clear what to change or add page-homepage-slider.php (parts/page-homepage-slider.php).

I can see that the colours have changed to dark as they should but I’m still seeing the default page setup not the video setup

Homepage slider images don't render correctly on first load - topic

Hello! My problem today is that often my homepage, which has the normal slider in the top & first 2/3 of the page, renders all the images from top to bottom, rather than as a slider. I limit the slider to 4 articles at a time, so those 4 featured images often render below each other, as in my example photo here. That photo shows the slider images rendering on top of each other, and the ones below the main slider space go under the blocks and content below, and it makes it look quite ugly and messy. Any idea what’s up?

Hello, I’m using block 13 (which uses module 14) on my homepage to show all post. At the end of the excerpt it show only “…” while I want to show “read more…” with a link on it. How can I do this?

was looking through files/modules/includes trying to see how to comment out or disable the header ad on homepage for header types 7 and/or 8?

Probably good to comment that out on 404 page too.

Mobile Problems - topic

Hi.

I’m experiencing some troubles with the mobile version of the Newspaper theme on my website didolines-nails.com

The first problem is with the BigSlider. When I’m in a mobile mode it is impossible to click the links in the slider. Actually you can click but nothing will happen. I tried it on my browser I have the same problem. If you change the size of the window and if you try to click the links in the slider, nothing will happen.

The second problem is that on a mobile device such as an iPad or iPhone, when I open a post, about 2 min after opening it I get the message “A problem occurred with this webpage so it was reloaded”. Why is the page reloaded continuously? Many of my readers complained to me about that issue.
When troubleshooting this problem I noticed that it occurs on the first time visiting my website from a mobile device. It happens particularly when you click on a link from the homepage while the homepage isn’t fully charged. The article opens, and then after a few minutes I’ll get a loop with the page loading, and the message appearing.
Once I let the homepage charge fully, I didn’t experience that problem anymore. Any idea of where the problem is coming from?

I don’t have “page builder with article lists” in my template? I have “Default Template” “Pagebuilder + Latest articles + Pagination” and “Pagebuilder + Page Title”?

I’m hoping I can fix the images touching without adding any CSS code to any files. You can see where block 13 and 14 are touching on the homepage. Any way to fix that without adding code?

Also, I have block 6 on the sidebar when it stops on block 14 how do I add an ad below block 14? Been messing around with it and it must be so stupid simple I can’t figure it out..? What size ad is best for the side bar? 300×300? Or?

If i update the banner code, its not working. (Say a square to a vertical banner)

If i delete the code completely, the change is seen instantly on the homepage and the ad is removed ( without clearing cache or anything)

So that kinda makes me feel this is not a cache issue…

Let me ask my server config. to check also.

Lucian – is there a email ID I can email you the developing site address link?

It’s not working properly for me. I can still see duplicate posts on the homepage (in slider). Also other posts don’t show at all (checked sliders and they’re not there either).

nvm, didn’t check news ticker…

You use the Homepage – blank template, edit the main page and add the Widgetised Sidebar block in place of the Social Counter block or under it, ex – http://screencast.com/t/G2JxlsyCX1
From the Widgetised Sidebar settings area you can select the sidebar you want – http://screencast.com/t/i9g6Faq1z58Q

Try the following css (add it inside Theme Panel -> Custom CSS): – http://screencast.com/t/PI1QI2SIbNV

Search widget - topic

Using static homepage in settings -> read I have defined http://www.chooyu.se/hem/ as my start page. However when I use the search widget it searches from that folder which render a 404 page. Example http://www.chooyu.se/hem/?s=inspiration

If I (manually) enter http://www.chooyu.se/?s=inspiration everything works like a charm. How do I get the search to do this?

The permalink of http://www.chooyu.se/hem/ is http://www.chooyu.se.

BTW – the same goes for the logo which links to http://www.chooyu.se/hem/ instead of http://www.chooyu.se

If you scroll down thru the various categories, you will see that in all of them the content is from three days ago–which makes us look bad–but when you click back on it it, it’s all curent. If you look on the right hand side a the video playlist, you can’t click on or access the videos. I am also having problem with the Homepage Post and Social Counter plugin’s not being active and available when i’m in the Pages section. Please advise and assist.

Hey guys,

I want this sidebar to appear on my homepage (facebook with profiles). But when I go on my homepage, select the side bar, remove the social counter etc, it doesnt appear, its just blank. Any ideas?

Also does anyone know how I can change the colour of the Facebook title on the first link sidebar, it seems to be blue, but the rest are white, I’ve looked everywhere.

On my site here: http://vbjusa.wpengine.com/ scroll down the page under Business Spotlight there is the heading OPINION, which was renamed from Latest Articles. I’d like there not to be white space there. If I ad more items to the sidebar the white space increases. It is possible to disable the Latest Article? and just use the Visual Composer to layout the site?

Youtube Playlist not working - topic

I’m not able to get the youtube playlist working on the homepage for some reason. The big video won’t load and even if you select a video from the playlist it will not play.
