Hello ToniLaird,
Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.4). Do you are using the child theme? If you are using it, you will have to switch the theme to the main theme, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Please make sure that you have right made your backup, according to this documentation here -> https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
Hope this helps!
Thanks.
Hello ozgurtaskaya,
For other users who access this topic, please notice that after several investigations in this regard have concluded that this type of issue come from WP Supercache which is not fully compatible with WordPress 4.6 and that’s why this problem occur. We hope that WP Super cache plugin will be updated it as soon as possible and that problem will be fixed. Notice that this issue appears and on Mobile Theme from Jetpack when the caching plugin is active.
Please notice that we have reported this issue to Jetpack and we are waiting for an update from them. Until that, you should use our workaround posted here -> https://github.com/Automattic/wp-super-cache/issues/132
Also, please try the theme without any untested plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out any conflicting in the theme.
Thanks for the message and sorry for the inconvenience!
I had the same issue as the OP, you will have to use FTP to change the theme. FTP instructions here https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Something changed after the last wordpress 4.6 update.

Hi Andrei
I did all and it did not work, i have removed the theme and reinstalled it but still the theme functionality is not right. Now even some of the icons like social media and weather do not show. Can i have someone look at this and fix. I will pay any extra charge outside the normal support. Thanks
Greetings!!
Getting back into blogging after 2 years away, and maybe my brain has gone to mush. I installed the Say What theme and love the layout that is on the preview. I’ve been been trying for several hours to figure out how to get my site to look just like the layout of the preview. I’ve played around with all of templates in the Blog and Post Templates located in the Layout Settings and still can’t figure it out. I have a feeling it could be something so simple. But…d’oh! Thanks in advance!
Let me add my site url just in case: http://www.dcmumbosauce.com. Not sure if the fact I have previous content from the years before I quit blogging is making it difficult for me. Guessing it may have been easier if I started from scratch? Don’t want to lose the old content though.
Install the version included with the theme; that is version tested to be compatible at this time.
Today I’ve update my theme to 7.4, How about WPBakery Visual Composer? There is an update available but can’t install it because it’s not licensed?
@Chris S
Sorry to be a little unclear in my last post. So again: When I follow your procedure:
a) delete old version of theme AND the included plugins via FTP
b) install new version of theme in theme folder via FTP
Here I meant: Via FTP I upload the renamed Theme in theme folder. The original Theme Name is “NEWSPAPER” Before I´m able to upload the Theme I have to unzip the Zipped Newspaper theme file. When I´m done with unzip I have the Mains Theme Folder “Newspaper” where all relevant Subfolders and files of these Theme are included.
I meant exactly to rename the unzipped Main Theme Folder “Newspaper” to “WebsiteTheme” for Example.
After I have done this I upload this renamed Main Theme Folder to the WordPress Theme folder.
I don´t want to delete any attributs to the Newspaper Developers with this action. Just to make it harder for Bots to find out by Default which Theme I use. If this bots search for Structures like wp-content/themes/Newspaper then the will not find any files cause I have renamed my Newspaper Main Folder.
Hope it is clear now for what I was asking for 🙂
Sorry, but English is not my native Language.
The best way to upgrade is
a) delete old version of theme AND the included plugins via FTP
b) install new version of theme in theme folder via FTP
c) upload updated plugins to plugin folder via FTP
d) login to admin panel, resave permalinks
e) optimize dbase with wp-optimize
That is how I’ve been doing it past 3 years with theme back to version 1x. 🙂
1. I installed Newspaper theme in WordPress back-end again
2. I havent loose any setting or theme configuration because that one is located in the database not the physical files
3. I ve tried to delete Newspaper 7.4 from WordPress 4.6.1 back-end again but it’s still doesnt worked properly 🙁
I think we have to wait for a newer version of both WordPress and Newspaper theme. I hope that both of them will know this issue soon.
@thanop – Thank´s for describing how you resolved this Issue.
Just two questions:
You wrote that you manually deleted the Newspaper folder and all it´s files insides this folder.
After that, did you install the theme in backend of WordPress or did you install the Newspaper manually via ftp?
Did you loose any of the settings which you have done after updating?
Thank´s for your reply.
Best Regards, Karl
Ok, thanks…i find newspaper-travel.zip. How can i make to install this Zip. I use The Menu to install the zip. But, installation no good . There is the message : there is no the file style.css (“L’archive n’a pas pu être installée. Le thème n’a pas de fichier style.css.”).
Thanks
Hi, great theme.
Do you know what’s the best way to go from installing a demo version with content, to live? I have an existing site with a lot of posts, and am going to be upgrading with the newspaper theme. Is it as simple as deleting all of the demo posts and I’ll be good to go live? Thanks for any info.
Hello kamoe,
Please update it to the latest version of it -> Social Counter 4.1 which come bundled with the latest version of the theme -> Newspaper 7.4 You will have to delete the old Social Counter and then you will have to install the newest one from the Premium Plugin area. Before checking the results, please check the Installed PLugfin area to check if the Social Counter has the proper version, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/FdCj64WI
Thanks.
Hi Anna,
As I understand it, you want to create your Travel project using our Black version, right? So, please notice that you can do it but first of all, you will have to install this demo or what you want, and I suggest you installing it without content. Please do not confuse the content with the layout because these are two different terms. The layout is the way in which text or pictures are set out on a page and the content is just the text or any other elements which you will have added to your page. Please notice that you can use any demo who like it and then you can add how many categories, posts, blocks, etc you want to your page/website. I will recommend you to install the demo without content because if you will install it with content and you will have to edit all of these posts when you will disable that demo, all of your content will be lost. Otherwise, all of your data will be loaded in the database and your data will be safe.
For more information about installing demos, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/
I hope that you understand me!
Thanks for your message!
Following my last post I cannot install the dark demo to my live site as it deleted all my content and I had to install a back up! I tried to install without content when this happened. Everything looks fine except the pages and posts still have white backgrounds with black text.
Hello AdamAL,
First of all, please make sure that you are using the latest version of the theme with the latest version of required plugins (Newspaper 7.4 with Visual Composer 4.12.1 and Social Counter 4.1) in order to achieve best results. Also, if you are using some untested plugins, please try to disable all of them, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches, purge CDN files, clear all your server cache (and if you do not have any access in this regard, please request this to the hosting provider to clear all of these) if you are using the CDN system and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.
For your latest problem, please try to regenerate all your thumbnails using this guide -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Hi,
I cannot see any problems on my side and also you say that it works properly on Firefox so I suspect that it is a problem with your Chrome install. Try to uninstall it and then re-install it and clear all your caches again – https://kb.iu.edu/d/ahic
Also you can try this by using another pc.
Thanks!
Hello shamonkar,
First of all, please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme and also, the latest version of required plugins which come bundled with the theme. If you are using some untested plugins, please try to remove all of them and install only the plugins that come bundled ith our theme and rule out any conflicting plugins. Please try the theme without all of them, clear all your caches and check the results. Please notice that this type of functionality it may be influenced by many factors. Also, you can try this and with a default theme and check what’s happen.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Hello Pierreto,
Please keep in mind that the code from the woo commerce template will be loaded only if the plugin is already installed, otherwise, this will not working. Indeed, the code for BuddyPress and Bb press, it is always loaded and if you will not use these plugins, you can delete it from that files, without any problems.
Thanks for your message!
Hello skmg,

Also, if you are using some untested plugins, please try to disable all of them, and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out any conflicting plugins.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi Support Team,
I get the same Error as Anna.
As Anna I did the same procedure since Newspaper 4. (Deactivating, Delete, Install new Version).
This is the first Time I couldn´t do an Update from previous Version. My actual installed an running Version is Newspaper 7.3
“Löschen fehlgeschlagen: Das angeforderte Theme existiert nicht.”
Thank´s for your quick reply
Karl

Hello ttalleur,
I have inspected your website and I saw that you have some errors in console, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/K5mwQGAyhd8f and I assume that all of these comes from your untested plugins which you are using on your side. Please try to disable all of them, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Please notice that the theme is fully tested and we have not encountered these types of issues until the present.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for the message!
