best thing to do is install the plugin as per normal plugin installation practice.

“activate” the plugin on the WordPress admin (not theme panel) > plugins panel. Under name of plugin click the activate link. It’s now “on.”

That’s it. It will now show as “activated” in your list of plugins.

You can ignore any messages printed by the plugin saying you need to register it. You only do that for a paid version to get support from the plugin author. With the free bundled version, you only get support from the theme developers when used with this theme.

For me, I always install plugins via FTP, by uploading the plugin file to the wp-content/plugins/ folder directly. That way I know it’s properly installed. If it won’t turn on, you likely need to try reinstalling it via FTP.

Thanks for your response, however all those configurations were already set up and appear to be identical. I have two local environments set up side by side with separate installs and have matched the settings in the Theme Panel yet it still isn’t allowing me to have a large top centre logo image of 1920×580 pixels (as representative in the demo link) it just remains a small thumbnail size???

Do you have any other possible solutions/remedies?

Hi,

It is a new wordpress and theme installation. It is working on the parent theme. So there no custom code.
The panel is working, I am having issues only for the Theme colors->General theme colors options.

I have installed the “black version” demo.

Tried to disable plugins but it is still not working.

Hi

Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer then check if the problem is still there. It may be an issue caused by one of the plugin installed on your wordpress but I can’t say for sure which is the cause. Follow the install instructions to install the needed plugins; activate them, then look at the demo styles you can import. See the install docs right side of page.

Envato plugin NEVER works right, and almost nobody recommends it with a straight face.

Best to learn to use FTP.

a) forces you to remember to make backups
b) you keep local copies of prior versions in case you ever need to go back
c) limit risk of some funky plugin breaking the install, and then site goes down

Thanks, my bad for not checking on several machines. It wasn’t a zoom issue but a bug in the firefox on my dev machine. I reset the zoom and it didn’t work so I tried on other computers and it rendered correctly in firefox on all of them. I deleted my firefox on the original mach and reinstalled and it’s good. thanks for the help and sorry for asking before testing on another machine 🙂

I also do not see that above setting in any of my pages, so I’m assuming nothing got moved over from the demo install, Im using the SAY WHAT theme. (crunk.us as you can see the issue)

I don’t have any pages tho… Only posts, and I cannot see the widget ‘social media’ thingy even showing up on my widget portion, tho says it’s installed.

I did follow the installation instruction and installed the theme by uploading it from WP. I extracted the themeforest pacakage and uploaded the theme zip file using WP. Then created a child theme with the code from the themeforest package file. There is no code in the child theme right now.

There should be 2 submenu items under: About->Administration, however, I am not seeing any.

Thank you very much. I have done what you told me and it’s right. I have modified two files: td_social_icons.php and style.css.

Now I need to know where I have to create the new icon. How can I do it?

Another thing. In the next updates, how can I maintain the modified files?. I have installed and activated Newspaper-child. Can this solve it?

Sorry for taking too long to reply.

I did a clear install of the theme and find out that it works.

So I tried to discover what was making my website not to work. I disabled all plugins with no luck. I didn’t find it. At the end, I deleted the Newspaper folder and the Newspaper-child folder and copied them in the wordpress theme folder.

It began to work as it should. So I suspect the problem was in some modifications I made to the theme. I re-did my modifications and it continued working. Then I activated all the plugins and also continued working. So the problem is solved, but I cannot provide an exact solution.

If anybody else has this problem, try deleting Newspaper and Newspaper-child folders, copying it again and applyng your modifications (if needed) and it should work.
