Good morning.
I have a problem opening my site. For one second is visible the main menu without style. It also displays the mobile menu background with a slide opening right effect. How can I do to eliminate this problem?
Thanx
Hi tagDiv support team,
I’d like to ask 2 questions:
1. I don’t use the mobile theme for mobile devices for certain reasons, but use the desktop one. I use the mega menu, but on mobile, there is a login section shown, which I’m unable to hide. When using the mobile theme, there was an option to hide this section, but I can’t find a solution for the desktop version, which I use for visitors on mobile.
2. I use the simple pagination for category pages which appears on the left side of the screen. But on the right side, opposite the boxes with numbers, there is an inscription: Page 1 of 133. I find this useless and would like to hide the numbers. How can I do that? Is there an option?
Thank you for your time in advance.
D.
So, are you guys planning to anything to help everyone to be able to customize their mobile menu in the future? I wish we knew it before we started working on our project.
Instead of relying on random devs all the time, I prefer relying on you guys with a possible update in the future. Since it looks like everyone who purchased the theme complaining about not having an option to customize the mobile (which is the most important thing for any websites or blogs since people use their mobiel phones more than their desktop, such as 83%), it’d dope if you guys let everyone know about it. Also, please let me know if guys are considering this, so we’ll have a better understanding about who we have to work on a long-term. Also, we’re a bit afraid of that’d decrease our page speed because of additional CSS codes.
Also, we have come across another problem right now, right before I started typing this. So, on theme panel/blocks settings/category tags on modules, is not working even tho I cleared all the caches.It doesn’t show on the thumbnails or homepage posts.
Hello potatohead101,
Unfortunately, our theme does not have any such an option that allows you to add extra menu option only for the mobile menu, sorry! As you can see, the mobile menu will display the same menu items which are added to the desktop version, sorry! If you want to have this extra feature, you should add it yourself because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry! Also, as a hint, you can add additional categories to entire menu and then you can use a bit of CSS code to hide that menu item only for desktop and tablet viewport. If you want to display more levels in our theme and if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this regard, consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide additional customization at the moment, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello,
Well since the plugin is not tested I;m not sure if it can translate the mobile menu or not. I cannot provide any specific solution for untested plugins. However you could try to disable the mobile theme plugin and use the theme’s standard responsive version. The mobile theme is more ‘picky’ with plugins. It works with a lot less than the main theme because of it’s custom nature.
Thank you!
Hi TagDiv Team,
First of all,I’d like to thank each of you for creating such a dope theme. Even tho, I’ve done my research thru other topics on the forum I couldn’t find anything that would lead me to add additional categories to mobile menu. Because I don’t wanna keep my header menu crowded, instead I’d like to add a few more categories to the top menu for an easy navigation to my visitors. Since there is no option to create a separate menu for mobile which takes whatever I put on the header menu, I need to ask if you could show me a way to add extra categories to mobile menu which won’t show up on desktop. Also, I realize we can’t add top menu to our mobile menu(it would look super ugly anyways, no need)so I’m in desperate need of your help.
Looking forward to hear from you.
Hi,
two more Questions:
1.)Search Bar Results: If you check the search bar in the main menue http://www.europapokal.de the thumbnails of the results are not correct.
2.)The Post Style from the Panel with the big image (Style 8) looks great for desktop and there are no performance problems (no or minimal differences to other styles) with the sidespeed. On mobile it looks different. If I compare the style 8 with the sitespeed performance of default or style 2 the performance of style 2 is much more better. My now question: Is there a option to have different post style settings for desktop vs mobile?
Thanks a lot
Timo
Hi,
I’m not using the mobile theme plugin.
I would like to know if it’s possible to change the post template and main menu on mobile.
My goal is to have on mobile a post template and main menu, and have a different post template and main menu on desktop.
Tks
Hi!
Congratulations for such an awesome tool 😉 BUT!
We are struggling with the mobile menu… maybe we are trying to do something that we can’t!
So, we have our blog in two languages using the Polylang plugin. We manage to create all the posts and everything apart from the mobile menu when looking at it through the phone. So, in the desktop looks perfect but once we look on the phone there’s no way to have it in Spanish… its in English.
We tried to modify the menu display in the WordPress chapter of Appearance and we also tried to select “no menu” on the mobile theme of the Newspaper itself.
Is there a way to have the mobile main menu in two languages?
Thanks in advanced for your help
Hi,
1. You could use the plugin recommended in this topic by Chris S – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/getty-images-plugin/ Give it a try and see how it goes.
2. Unfortunately not, the menu is limited to drop-down capabilities on mobile – https://www.screencast.com/t/PjRfeijrZ For the pages, you must enter your content in the mobile editor section – https://www.screencast.com/t/3TUtmys4 in order to be displayed on mobile when using the mobile theme plugin, as explained in the mobile theme guide provided above.
3. Yes the 7 days post sorting is based on page views, it will not work if this setting is disabled.
4. Unfortunately in this regard I have no recommendation, you will have to search for user role manager plugins and try a few of them out.
6. You can set a tagline and a site image like this – https://www.screencast.com/t/OhmMIeSHvb – https://www.screencast.com/t/0SGYXRVW
Thanks
Thanks a lot for your clarify, but there’re something I don’t understand it clearly so I’d like to ask you again a little bit more in each topics.
1. Is it really that hopeless? Aren’t there have such things like code or plugin that could solve it easier? Just make a first picture of each article into a featured image or something like that. It’d be much appreciate if you know a proper way to do it. Because I’m kind a fear to search for a code or plugin by myself without having someone who’s reliable recommend it to me.
(I have a huge amount of old articles added recently, it’s impossible to set all of these one by one. But if I’m not do something, these articles would show on my website with blank. And that would be horrible)
2. So the mobile theme menu will not show what inside mega menu right? Here’s the website menu – http://www.screencast.com/t/T2IByVUh1tx and the mobile menu – http://www.screencast.com/t/tF66hKFlcUP0 so my case here have to switch back to the non-mobile theme to show it properly, is that correct? And also the page that I’ve made – http://www.screencast.com/t/igogX9zLUC it will not show anything in mobile theme too?
– http://www.screencast.com/t/wWQejqNpycSL
3. So the 7 days sort order is forced to show post views on the article right? (At first I disable it because I thought it just on/off the number shown on article, but still counting in background)
4. Did you have any recommend plugin too?
5. This one is fine.
6. It is this – http://www.screencast.com/t/Te2VK1Hn the picture that would appear if someone share my homepage. And also the sub-head in no.2, where can I add them?
Many thanks.
Hello,
If you want to disable the footer of the mobile theme you can add this code in the mobile theme custom css section:
.td-mobile-footer-wrap{
display:none;
}
For the H1 tags I assume you are referring to the post titles:
.td-post-title .entry-title{
font-size: 25px;
text-align:center;
}
}
also aligned center.
The h2:
.td-post-content h2{
font-size:25px;
}
center the views and comment count:
.td-post-title .td-module-meta-info{
display: table;
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
}
Sorry but the menu cannot be moved or made a dropdown.
Thank you!
I need some help regarding the mobile version of the theme as most of us here focuses on mobile friendliness of our website, now I just want to know how to disable the Footer of the mobile themes and also I want to edit the sizes of the H1, H2 fonts on my mobile template. Also, I want to make the Titles of single post on mobile to be on center, including the post views and number of comment view section. I am using the Recipe template of the theme and using the mobile version.
Can I also edit the menu section and put it below the logo of the site or make it dropdown?
Please See my website in mobile to see what i am talking – http://bit.ly/pilipinasrecipes
Hello,
Thank you for your appreciation.
1. The top menu was never meant to show up on mobile. You can force it to show up with a bit of css but the code is different for each case in particular.
I already see the top bar on mobile here though: http://warrimarket.com/
2. Our theme does not support sliding ads or rotating ads. You will have to use a plugin for it.
3. The top menu color can be changed from the theme panel-> theme colors section no matter the header style: https://www.screencast.com/t/5q38TmWSW
4. You can reduce the main menu height by reducing the linbe height of the font used on the main menu like so:
https://www.screencast.com/t/MGTDGNdoAz
5. I’m not sure what sidebar article you are referring to. please provide more details.
Thanks.
Hi,
1. Unfortunately you must set a fetured image for each of your articles – https://www.screencast.com/t/ChFny9gAY You can not set a featured image for all your posts at once. More information here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image-or-video/
2. The Newspaper mobile theme is fully tested and expected to work properly if you choose to activate it – https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ As for the mega menu it is not supposed to work on mobile, it is a feature just for desktop and only drop-down menu style is available. It is the same for the responsive version of the theme, if you choose not to use the mobile theme plugin. It can be deactivated just like any other plugin, in the plugins section – https://www.screencast.com/t/lmibpuez
3. Please follow this guide to set your 7 days sort order for your posts – https://forum.tagdiv.com/7-days-post-sorting/ And make sure you have post views enabled in theme panel, because this sort order is based on page views.
4. The theme uses the default wordpress user roles and capabilities – https://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_Capabilities where you can create users and asign a role to them. You can set an author for each post in the post edit page – https://www.screencast.com/t/TsMBDbxZJ or in bulk – https://www.screencast.com/t/ybfu0yOgCx1 You could search for a plugin with these capabilities if you want.
5. You can create a page however you want using the Visual composer elements avilable – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/ Maybe what you are looking for your page is a homepage post – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/homepage-one-top-post/
6. I do not understand what you mean by website default picture, users can share posts and the post image – https://forum.tagdiv.com/facebook-share/ Please provide more details if I am misunderstanding what you mean.
Thanks
Hi,
Please provide a link to your site so we can inspect it and see the problem you have with the menu. As a test you could disable all your plugins except Visual composer and the mobile theme plugin (make sure you have the latest version of these plugins), clear your cache and check to see if the problem is resolved, because this issue could be caused by a plugin.
Thanks
Hi,
Unfortunately the top bar is not visible on mobile, only the header main menu specially designed for mobile as it can be seen in the demo – https://www.screencast.com/t/3BkWrGdVkCh If you want to display the top bar menu, it will have to be achieved using a custom code. Please provide a link to your website or at least the header style you are using and I will try to help you.
Thanks
I want to formally appreciate tagDiv support team for their quick response to question.
I have some series of questions I have penned down. I will appreciate answers to all five questions below:
1. Top head menu should display on mobile
2. It posible to configur a slide on the header banner for ads?
if yes, a walk though will be appreciate
3. How do I change the color of the Top head menu for header style 6?
4. How do I reduce the height of the header menu (main) for header style 6?
5. Side bar article not showing recent post and recent comment on post page. How do I fix this?
Hi, so I’m creating a website https://greennews.agency which is an online environment news agency in Thailand. And right now I’m going to need you guys to help me some of my issues here. Thanks.
1. I’ve just import an old articles from my previous wordpress’s website. It all coming up with a picture inside the story but not set as featured image for me. So is there an easy way to set the featured image for all of those articles?
2. Right now I’m using a mobile theme plugin. I actually like it, but it seems not stable yet. As you can see if you going in my website through mobile, the main menu tab “Story” didn’t have a drop-down menu. But in the main website it is a mega menu with a lot of sub. So how can I fix it.
P.S. But if it can’t fix, how do I disable the mobile theme (Didn’t see this option in theme panel)
3. I have a problem with block of content, which arrange by 7 days popular sorting. Before, it was showing good but right now it’s not. I don’t know what happens. And also I’m really confused with the system (the conflict between ajax view count and 7 days post sorting and cache plugin ~blah blah) So can you help me with it, let it work in a proper way.
4. Are there an easy way to create new author without creating new wordpress user? it’s too complex. (My work system is I’m going to have a plenty of writer who’s sent the articles to me. But it all have to upload by myself.)
P.S. I want the author system only to show who’s write this story, that’s it.
5. I’m creating a new page. And I really like the “style 6” of category template, that I use in almost every category. Can I also apply this to my new page too?
6. How to set the website default picture, which will shown when someone share my website via facebook or etc. (Right now it shown a random of recent articles picture)
Or you can also contact me through greennews@outlook.co.th for private support. Many thanks.
The mobile menu (hamburger menu) on mobile doesnt work, but it does work when responsive (at the laptop). How to fix this? Tried iPhone 7 Plus en Galaxy S6.
Ok, got it.
But new problem detected.:)))
When i use awesome icons on site, they obtained very small size.
They have size of which is proportional to size of text in menu. (main menu of my website)
On awesome website i see instruction “how increase size of icons”, but when i add “fa-2x
” or another stuff to code – nothing change. But if i increase size of text on my website – icons get bigger.
How i can increase only size of icons, without increasing size of text?
And one more question.
How i can edit social share box? For example, i need only twitter, facebook and add some socials, like “vkontakte” or another. And i need same boxes on desktop and on mobile (now they different). Where (or how) i can set it?
Thanks for helping!!! Very much!
And sorry for my bad english.
Hi,
I found a tablet with android 5.1.1 (pretty hard to find as all our devices are now with min andoroid 6.0)
But still, the error is not present. I cannot see it. The site seems to work ok. The screenshot you provided above shows a menu above the mobile header which does not seem to come from the theme.
Unfortunately we have not tested the webview of android. We only tested the themes on standard browsers. The webview strips the site of elements and javascript. The menus require js to run properly. he webview is not meant to display complex elements such as a premium wordpress theme:
Here is an official description from Android:
By default, a WebView provides no browser-like widgets, does not enable JavaScript and web page errors are ignored. If your goal is only to display some HTML as a part of your UI, this is probably fine; the user won’t need to interact with the web page beyond reading it, and the web page won’t need to interact with the user. If you actually want a full-blown web browser, then you probably want to invoke the Browser application with a URL Intent rather than show it with a WebView
Thank you!
Hi Catalln,
I am sorry for such huge delay in answering your messages. I was on a long vacation and back then I have actually replied to the email which are no-reply email address I have noticed later.
Here is what I was trying to send you long time ago:
Hi,
I kinda understand that there is no such option and that you won’t customise it according to my need but can you explain why it has such negative effect on loading for mobile phones?
Would you be that kind and have a look at it what you’ll have time. I just enabled the lazy loading for you to have a look at it what I mean. I am still trying to make my pages as small as possible in order to load faster on mobile devices. I already tried your mobile plugin and it’s awesome regarding the page speed loading time but I kinda use different menu plugins and I haven’t managed to implement it for the mobile version yet. However, I am about to make my pages load fast on mobile devices with no use of you mobile plugin and that brings me to the lazy page loading and also I wanted to ask you how to minify newspaper JavaScript as I have tried to either combine it or even minify it but it always break my site. I have managed to combine and minify most of the js except the jQuery and newspaper js files. Any kind of help or hint would be very much appreciated. I use W3 Total Cache plugin in order to speed up my web site but as I mentioned I am having troubles to manage to minify or combine newspaper js file along with others. I tried most of the variations but none of them worked for the newspaper js file.
Thanks
