Hi Anamaria, I thought that was the case, but thought I’d check.
Given the huge rise in mobile users, perhaps additional filters for the mobile theme could be considered for future Newspaper releases.
As things stand, even the front page grid filter can only be set to one category. Would be ideal to have an option for multiple categories here too.
Thanks for the consideration.
Hi Anamaria – I’m trying to change the colors text/hover colors in my mobile menu as well, but I don’t have a Mobile Theme selection in my theme panel. I put here but it doesn;t work – https://www.screencast.com/t/ZQK7NvjhC0.
Here is a pic of what I do have – https://www.screencast.com/t/tHJ2A2Oy5mSC. However it keeps reverting back to black text with green hover.
Hello,
Unfortunately, for the mobile theme plugin, there are not so many options to edit, only those present in Theme Panel -> Mobile Theme.
So, you can’t apply a filter for the latest articles or to show only the categories that you choose.

Hello John,
If you use our theme and AMP that is come with our theme, then you need to have Amp URL “/?amp” and if you have set the redirect mobile to AMP then will be /?amp=1.
Thank you!
When using the tagDiv Mobile Theme plugin, is there a way to filter the ‘latest articles’ on the mobile homepage?
We can filter the grid at the top via Theme Panel -> Mobile Theme -> Grids but don’t see an option to filter latest articles. Ideally, we want the feed to show only categories that we choose.
Thanks in advance.
HI
Thanks for the quick response.
I had already added the mobile theme (https://prnt.sc/26nfwqj) and amp plugin and followed the instructions. I tried to configure the settings to make it look better, but unfortunately the layout is terrible. Is there something I’m doing wrong? Also all of the images are missing on the post page content.
Thanks in advance.
John
Hello @jozef !
Deactivate the Mobile theme plugin, assign your mobile page to your homepage from desktop and see the results!
Thank you!
Hi,
AMP is faster and works better only with the Mobile Theme plugin. If you’ll use the Mobile theme plugin, then you can not edit the pages with tagDiv Composer.
You have only some settings for this layout, which you can find in Theme panel -> Mobile Theme. The same thing for the AMP plugin too.
Also, you can check our documentation here:
-> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-amp-plugin-tutorial/ please set the AMP like in our guide.

1. Is there any difference in functioning between implementing an image ad via the theme panel with the code and doing it via tagdiv composer? Is there any special recommendation about the method?
2. How can I show the same ad to open in a new window in desktop and in the same in mobile? If I make the change via tagdiv composer it implements the change on all devices. Any way of forcing one change to be implemented only in the current tagdiv viewport?
Hi,
I checked your website and now the text format it looks correct -> https://i.imgur.com/jnl5two.png
Maybe before you had the mobile theme plugin.
But, I notice a strange thing for your text -> https://i.imgur.com/WyIN89g.png the text should be clean like this -> https://i.imgur.com/KwleAED.png this is possible to be from the extra plugins that you use.
Thank you!
Hi,
You can use mobile page/templates, but for page speed please check this topic -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/slow-my-webiste/
If you want to make the website boxed, you need to have set a background image/color from Theme Panel -> Background => https://i.imgur.com/i2qlhzX.png and Theme Panel -> Theme Colors => https://i.imgur.com/h808nlK.png and enable the option to make the background boxed layout. Select the row on the header and footer and set the option for “Row stretch” on Default => https://www.screencast.com/t/I7lDMXJjiwZ -> https://www.screencast.com/t/O8cc7n4ZzIc
Thank you!
On the desktop view, we decided to display 10 elements ( sections).
On the mobile view, we decided to show only 1 out of the 10 elements ( sections) to optimize the viewing experience and speed ands google score.
When we inspect the network, to our surprise, your theme is loading ALL images on the mobile, even for elements that are set to display only on the desktop view and not on the mobile view. The size of the page on the mobile site should be one-tenth of that of the desktop site, and yet the size of both are exactly the same.
Why is your theme still loading in the background elements that are marked as hidden? This is far from ideal.
Are we missing a setting?
https://www.appmysite.com/blog/
FYI – We are not using your mobile theme as it did not work well for us.
Thanks for the help. Also I want to know creating Mobile themes of the below mentioned templates will create any speed issues or slow down the HTML page?
I installed an IE compatibility plugin (NS Ie Compatibility Fixer) and it solves the problem, but looks like it is not very compatible with the Theme since the mobile page functionality is lost and all mobile devices show inherited responsiveness, so I uninstalled again.
I have read that IE/EDGE and WP are not good friends…
Hello @crodexter!
Please check this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/ ; Some screenshots where you can change the image sizes: https://i.imgur.com/OYxNzc9.jpg ; https://i.imgur.com/UpGKfGv.jpg
Please note that these settings are not available for the standard templates or Mobile theme plugin.
Regardless of image size used for featured images, the theme will create thumbnails from them. These thumbnails will be loaded, not the full image. Still there are methods to optimize the thumbnails, see point 3 in this guide for example

Thank you!
Hello @jozef !
From what I can see in your screenshot, it seems that you use the Mobile Theme plugin which can overwrite the design you build for your mobile view. If you deactivate the plugin, then it will show the responsive version of your desktop.
We have 3 options of mobile versions that you can use:
1. Responsive version: A responsive version of your website is looking similar like on desktop, edit the page with TagDiv Composer, click on the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB ; there you can see your mobile version and you can edit the elements there.
2. Mobile pages: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/
3. Mobile theme plugin: The Mobile Theme is a performance optimized theme included in the Newspaper main theme and it loads only for mobile devices. It comes with its own templates/design for page, post, category, etc so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. For more details, please take a look here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ and https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/
A full explanation you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
You can choose to use which one is more affordable and useful for you.
Hope that helps you!
Thank you!
Hello @crodexter!
Normally, the featured images from normal posts have the same sizes. Also, they have same sizes after you activate the mobile theme plugin. When you upload the images, you can choose the sizes how you’ll like to display for the featured images.
Thank you!
Hello @iamratnesh!
1. From my point of view, if you don’t use the Mobile Theme plugin, then there is no reason or benefit from AMP. But, it shouldn’t cause any problem like that.
2. You can choose on which page you need AMP: https://www.screencast.com/t/9grHVdJK8sIs
Please provide a video which is clear, so I can understand what you mean exactly.
Thank you!
Hello,
Can you suggest how to preload featuerd image on mobile theme and cloud/template for desktop?
I would like to avoid to use plugin for that.
Thank you
Hi,
We provide support only here on the forum or via email.
Also, our support is not instant and our schedule is Monday – Friday from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM GMT+2.
Also, please let me know if you have the mobile theme plugin activated.
Thank you!
Hi,
Unfortunately, the file can not be set in child theme and for the moment it is the only why you can edit the mobile menu, sorry!
Now, if will be to set the code in the theme header.php file, I think that will be triger this file wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/header.php (our theme has 3 header.php files, but if the tagDiv Standard Pack is not installed and you use a cloud header, the above one will be use). Just copy the file from there in child theme (Newspaper-child/header.php) and set the code in that file, it should work properly.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hello,
Is it possible to set fixed featured image size on mobile?
<div class="td-post-featured-image"><img width="696" height="364" src="https://example-domain.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/example-image-title-696x364.jpg" alt="" /></div>
I can’t get Largest Contentful Paint less then 2.5 and LCP element is featured image
Thank you
Hello,
If you don’t want to use the mobile theme plugin, then disable also, the AMP plugin.
Also, please check this topic where I explained each mobile version -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/mobile-version-not-working-properly-2/ and choose what mobile version you want.
Thank you!
Hello Andy,
