Unfortunately, the theme does not have any such an option that allows you to change this thing on mobile devices for that big grid, sorry! If you do not like this, you should change this on mobile.

Hi,

I believe that most mobile testing tools simulate how the website loads on an average performance device, using an average internet connection.

A solution would be to use the mobile theme plugin included with the theme
https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
This simplifies the website and improves mobile performance considerably. You could make some tests with it active.

Thanks

Hello,

I have problems with the mobile performance of my website. I use the latest updated version 9.2.2 of the Newspaper theme. When I test with GTmetrix, I get the results of “PageSpeed Score = 85%” and “Fully Loaded Time = 6.2s”. According to these results, the desktop performance of my blog is quite good.

But when I test my site’s mobile performance with “testmysite.withgoogle.com”, I get 8 seconds of loading time. It’s too slow. Many people who try to access my blog from their mobile devices report that my site is very slow. Probably because of this many users are losing.

Is there anything you would suggest to improve my site’s mobile performance?

Thanks in advance for your interest and help!

Hello there. We use your Newspaper theme. But we have a problem with AMP. When we activate the Tagdiv AMP plug-in, our website is not AMP-enabled. In other words, the amp does not appear at the end of the url when logged in from the mobile. So we are trying to solve this problem with different plugins. But we want to use the tagdiv AMP plugin. What kind of settings do you have? We looked at how it was set up from your website and did so and it didn’t work. The address of our website is istandist.com. We look forward to your help.

Hi,

If you are not using theme mobile you can disable the sign in from mobile in Newspaper>Theme panel>Header>Top bar
https://www.screencast.com/t/JGNvJ708

In order to remove the social icons you need to go in Newspaper>theme panel> Social Network ( but will hide from desktop to ).

Or you can add this custom css In Newpaper>Theme panel>Advance css> phone
.td-mobile-container .td-menu-socials{
display: none;
}

Unforgivably our theme do not have any option to set a logo in mobile main, sorry ( this can be done only with custom code ).

Thank you for your understanding.

If you want to set the color in theme file please provide a link were I can inspect the colors you want to change in theme, but notice, if you make update to the theme this change will be lost, if you do not want to lose the changes you’ll need to use child theme

Hello, I use the popular plugin Calendarize It! on a site that runs the Newspaper theme. I am using both the latest version of the theme and plugin.

The calendar and individual events pages appear exactly how I want them to on the desktop theme.

For the mobile theme, the calendar displays as expected, but the individual events pages to not display at all. All I see is the event name. I wish to display the event_detailbox as well as the content/post about the event.

Any suggestions?

Hello,

This is probably because you are using the mobile theme plugin. Please read this guide to learn about the mobile theme implementation for pages: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/

Hi,

The sub-menus appear for me on mobile like this – https://www.screencast.com/t/vRwomOfG
While the customization made to the sub-menu (menu items in two columns) looks fine on desktop, on mobile it doesn’t look quite nice.

I suggest that you enter the code used for the customization in the Advanced CSS desktop section of the theme panel, so it does not affect mobiles and they display normally
https://www.screencast.com/t/ISgBjLUXZ3B
Or create one design for desktop and a different one for mobile.

Thanks

Hi,

I checked the website homepage on mobile, seems alright. When the mobile theme plugin is active there will be a grid in the top displaying featured posts
https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-posts-2/
Then at the bottom there will be a latest articles section.

If there are no posts in the featured category (this category is created by the theme) the top grid will not be displayed. Here you can find out more about the mobile theme
https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/

Note that this mobile plugin is optional, you can deactivate it and display the same content from desktop, on mobile. Let us know if you have more questions.

Thanks

I have managed to change the title length on my website on desktop (so as to avoid it getting abbreviated with “…”). Unfortunately, the changes I make on the theme panel under Excerpts do not seem to affect the mobile website. I’ve changed every single module but no difference (on mobile). What am I missing?

Thanks!

Hi,

Usually that happens on specific pages, something in the page content could be causing it. Does it happen on all pages, even new ones?

We could take a look at it, send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login. Mention the page or pages with the problem.

Regrading the CSS, the theme has advanced CSS sections, so you can enter code without media queries in the desired fields
https://www.screencast.com/t/7rtoiob9
In case you use the mobile theme plugin CSS code has to be entered in the mobile theme section
https://www.screencast.com/t/3xM0S0qyu2
If you tried it like this, mention in the email what exactly you want to do.

Please include a link to this topic in the email.
Thanks

Hi,

A code like this should do that when not using the mobile theme plugin
https://www.screencast.com/t/Bfj98RF8

#td-header-menu #td-top-mobile-toggle {
position: absolute;
right: 0;
}
.td-header-main-menu .header-search-wrap {
right: auto;
}

be sure to enter this in the Advanced CSS phones section.

Or like this when using the mobile themehttps://www.screencast.com/t/jRGckQ2wKugx

#td-header-menu #td-top-mobile-toggle {
position: absolute;
right: 0;
}
.td-header-wrap .td-search-icon {
right: auto;
}

Thanks

Hi,

It seems to be a mini problem in our theme regarding on theme panel savings when the Mobile Theme plugin is activated. You have two valid ways in this case: the first one could be to ignore the spinning when you press the save button saving is done, only you will not receive the confirmation or the second one, you should disable the mobile theme until you work on your website and then, activate it and check the results.

Thanks for your understanding!

I have tested the code on my end, with the mobile theme active
Default – https://www.screencast.com/t/nbzLm0AO
With code added – https://www.screencast.com/t/CVzh5Usexk
https://www.screencast.com/t/Kv99rwxZ

If this is not working in your case, please provide a link to the website so I can take a look.

I have read in another thread that the problem is actually with the mobile theme plugin, which I do have activated and don’t want to turn off.

However, I did turn it off for testing purposes and was able to save pages again.

Is there any timeframe for getting this problem resolved?
