Hi
Try this css in theme panel > custom code > custom css to change tha background color for mobile menu: http://screencast.com/t/D2ieUCRlBOhj
@media(max-width: 768px){
.td-header-main-menu{
background-color: red;
}
}
Let me know how it goes and if this is not what you mean please provide your site url and more specific details about the part which you want to edit so I can inspect this and get back to you with the proper code.
Thanks!
Hi guys,
I’ve been trying to figure out how I can change the background colour on the mobile version only.
One of my sites is due a redesign, I’ve redesigned the logo in Orange and black with a grey accent. I’ve set the main nav colours to the same colour configuration with the grey acting as the background colour for the nav and it looks great until you go to the mobile menu because part of the png logo is lost in the background of the main nav colour that’transferred over from the themes main nav colour scheme
Basically I want the main nav on desktop to be as it is (because the logo isn’t sat inside it, it’s great)but I’d like to change the nav colour on mobile only to white so the grey bits of my logo are visible again.
Many thanks
D
Hi,
we bought your theme “newspaper “: out compliments , it’s really well done.
Anyway, we need your assistance in setting banner zones.
Specifically, we have a hard time doing so, for example , that a ADsense leaderboard (728×90) of the desktop version will be adapted for the smartphone version and displayed correctly .
How should we proceed?
Waiting for a reply,
regards
Neikos
Hello,
this type of issues usually occur due to plugin conflicts. Please disable all your plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Then check your mobile menu again. If you use a child theme, please try to activate the main theme to see if the problem does not come from there.
Let us know.
Thank you!
Hopefully it’s a non issue.
You might do a Google search for the issue, which is usually best thing to do:
e.g.,
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/cloaked-site
============================
Upshot means “in conclusion” … it’s not a theme issue, so something you have added to your site means things YOU have added like a plugin — the theme doesn’t add plugins to your site, you do.
SO you need to debug what you’ve done to the site that caused the issue. If 10,000 people don’t have an issue, and you do — it’s pretty obvious that something you “added” (meaning, install a plugin, add javascript code, etc.) is causing the issue.
The only way to debug is to turn stuff OFF until you figure out what it is; remove stuff you added like custom javascript loading something from elsewhere, etc.
If something is being “cloaked” by a plugin — whatever that actually means — then it might be an issue, might not be. What is the exact meaning of “cloaked” in this context? For example hiding a menu from desktop, and only showing it for mobile users, might technically be “cloaking” or “hidden” until needed.
If something is hidden “behind” something and not see to visitors but is loaded in the browser, that is a problem as that is how malware is hidden, such as an on click event behind a login box, etc.
Best of luck.

Hey guys. Will try to explain this as best I can. It might be long, don’t fall asleep 🙂

Last week I started having trouble with uploading media such as the featured images –was getting an “Http Error”.
On “larger” images 125k+ was getting “Internal Server Error” (see images included in folder link below)
Tried both WP image upload methods and still had the problem.
I thought it might be a server problem timing out or something. I Called the host company GoDaddy, they found no problem.
I then turned off ALL plugins and the problem still continued.
Then, I uninstalled the NewsMag Theme and put in the generic WP theme and the uploading problem was solved.
Reinstalled NewsMag and it started again.
I managed to get some images to upload but… Oddly… when they do upload, the file name but not the actual thumbnail preview appears in the in the library.
I ran the Regenerate Thumbnail plugin on individual images and that fixed it –I was able to post normally.
With the most recent post though, I can’t get it to appear on mobile (yes more complicated! haha)
I sent three images below for you to see.
One is of the post. You can see the main image of the girl with glasses smiling. When I try to post on Facebook, it’s not reading the featured image.
And in the other screenshot I sent you can see that the featured image is not appearing on in the Block (it does on PC but not on mobile –tried Safari and Chrome and cleared caches on both.
In other words, I’ve tried everything and something is still wrong.
Hope its’ something small I missed and you can help me out! here is the site http://www.everydaydiabetes.com
Love your service and your themes.
If you need a login, tell me where to send that info to you.
THANKS as always guys.

Hello heymrdj,
Unfortunately, our theme does not have such an option to switch the theme menu mobile to appear earlier than its current preset, sorry! Please notice that it is not a simple task and require additional customizations which involve custom work. As a hint, you have to check your style.css to find the line where the mobile menu is created and then you should change the @media attribute as you wish. If you want to develop our theme through displaying more levels and if you are not aware to the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to do this for you because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, sorry!
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi,
I’d like to switch the theme to the mobile (hamburger) menu earlier than its current preset, can you tell me how to do this? I’m assuming its a bit of custom CSS??
Thanks
Hi, We use DFP to power our ads on our site.
We have about 6 different types of pages (Home, Movie Reviews, Photos, Box Office numbers, Polls, Videos), and will need to serve different ad tags depending on mobile or web.
On a given page, we would want to have 3 or 4 locations for an ad – e.g. header, footer, sidebar, in-article ads
And there would be different tags for mobile and desktop.
1) How do you recommend the ad slots are declared ? Would it be necessary to define 6 X 4 x 2 ad slots ?
2) Correspondingly, how would you recommend the ad slots are defined in your themes / page types, to get called per device and page type ?
Our primary goal is to be able to report and target based on page type and device, without having to lose too much hair managing the multiple ad slots.
Hi.
Google webmaster tool shows server crawl error on /wp-content/themes/Newspaper/
Google says:
———
URL: http://mysite.com/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/
Error details:
Last crawled: 3/6/16
First detected: 3/6/16
Googlebot couldn’t access the contents of this URL because the server had an internal error when trying to process the request. These errors tend to be with the server itself, not with the request.
—————
Another issue is with /mobile/
URL:
http://mysite.com/mobile/
Error details
Linked from
Last crawled: 3/5/16
First detected: 3/5/16
Googlebot couldn’t crawl this URL because it points to a non-existent page. Generally, 404s don’t harm your site’s performance in search, but you can use them to help improve the user experience.

Hi,
I have checked your website and saw a bunch of issues. Js errors in your console,, mixed content errors (SSL issue), the search icon and the menu are not aligned. The mobile menu icon is also not aligned to the logo on mobile. This can only be one of 2 things. Either you have custom modifications that were not done properly or there is a plugin conflict.
If you have modifications, please try to restore the theme to it’s default state and check if the issues are still there. If you did not customize anything, then please disable ALL plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then check your website again.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks.
Hello @airlift, @ingilizcecin,
I have checked you website and saw the problem with the mobile menu. I suspect this problem that comes rather from your untested plugins which you are using to your website. These plugins interact with our theme and could cause a lot of errors. To avoid this case, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer, clear all cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.
Please try this advice and after this check if your problem is still there. Hope this helps and let us know how it goes.
Thank you for your message!
Hello Navneet,
I have checked you website and saw the problem with the mobile menu. This kind of issue does not come from our tag div booster because this type of plugin is tested with our theme and works fine. Hello! How do I display different ad in header for desktop and mobile?
Most ad providers are still not responsive, so theme can’t load giant ad in mobile or it looks terrible. How do I add a different ad in mobile and desktop?
Is there a way to tell it to load one external .html file for mobile and a different .html file for desktop or something?
Thanks!
Hi
The ad system it’s tested and works fine. For more details about banner ads usage with our theme please check our documentation here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-using-other-ads/ To load different banner ads you can use this code:
<div class="td-visible-desktop">
<a href="#"><img src="image-for-desktop"/></a>
</div>
<div class="td-visible-phone">
<a href="#"><img src="image-for-mobile"/></a>
</div>
This css will display a image for desktop and a different image for mobile, including iPhone.
Thanks!

Hi, on the iphones the theme is correctly responsive except the ads when I use the td-visible-phone class. From the CSS I see the class is checking the resolution via @media (max-width: 767px), which does not fit the retina resolution.
The need is this: on mobiles (included iphones) I want to show 300×200 banners. On desktop I want to show a strip, a leaderboard.
Which is the right solution you suggest?
Hello,
1)Fort the first issue, we know about this bug and it will be fixed in the next version.
2)For the update from version 3, unfortunately the post views function was changed along with all the code so it this is likely to happen. It is like switching to a whole different theme.
3)The featured video option will not work on any parallax image post styles (3,4,6,7 and 8). It will work only on post styles 1, 2 and the video formats 9, 10 and 11. There is a notice about this here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image-or-video/
4) You can use the wordpress custom fields if you want an extra field: https://codex.wordpress.org/Custom_Fields
5) There is a solutioon to add the updated time https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-to-add-last-updated-time/ We already have this on our suggestion list
6) We do not have AMP support for our themes yet (we have not tested it) but one of our veteran users (Chris) made a tutorial on it here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tutorial-getting-started-with-accelerated-mobile-pages-amp/
I have added your suggestions to our list (the ones we did not yet have) and passed them on to the developer team.
Thank you for your message and suggestions!
Hi Andrei!
I’ve deactivate wp super cache and post view counter works on mobile. Strangelly is i have another configuration like that only is newspaper theme and with wp super cache activated counter works both on desktop and mobile version!
Hello RachelG,
Jetpack plugins are recommended for Tiled Gallery and the Carousel so if you don’t use this features I suggest to not use it – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-a-gallery/ Also the theme is already responsive so the feature mobile theme from jetpack need to be disabled: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-manage-the-mobile-theme/ This plugin has a lot of features but also it affect the speed of your site.
The jetpack photon feature can cause some issues and while the theme works based on the same system – creates and serves/uses thumbnails for each uploaded image. We have some reports that the jetpack photon feature caused some issues also on Newsmag when used with the theme or other plugins.
If you want to display more levels in our theme and you want to develop this kind of plugin to works fine with our theme and you are not aware the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to do this for you because we cannot provide custom services at the moment, sorry! Or, you can try to find another plugin with this functionality and see how it works for you.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi!
I’ve installed wp super cache and configured it like in the great tutorial you have on the forum.
I’ve enabled in your theme, Ajax view count and the counter works for desktop version but for mobile version it doesn’t work.
Please help me !
Hi
The theme load the same banner ad on all devices, only the css changes depending by screen’s resolution. To load a image by a different size on mobile you will need a script which detect screen’s width and load the image depending by this result.
This is a complex task which require many customizations and unfortunately I can’t offer a solution now. If you still need guidance on this or you’re not aware of the steps you need to take in this regard please consider hiring a developer or a freelancer to do this for you as we can’t offer customization services at the moment.
Thanks!
Hi,
I cannot find any option to change the logo in the footer for the mobile version. I see that your theme supports it as your demo site shows http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/. The result is that the footer (mobile version) uses the “black” logo from the header (desktop version)

My website is http://awpress.com/
