This is not a support ticket.

I want to congratulate you on the latest news in Newspaper.

The new AMP design incorporated to the mobile plugin is perfect, a great design and the option to have menu and other advantages.

The composer’s options are getting wider and better, I love it. Adding headers has also been an excellent option, great, fantastic.

In the last few months I have tried many well-known premium themes (templates), I have tested them and I can say that Newspaper is still, in my opinion, the better.

A great theme (template) with an excellent support team.

Thank you for such a good job.

Cheers

PD. I always make a suggestion, in this case, if possible, I would like to suggest that you add a rating option for readers. The possibility (optional) to put stars at the end or beginning of a post, and that the reader can vote with one, two, three, four or five stars (something similar to what the plugin does (WP-PostRatings / kk Star Ratings).

Hi,

If you have AdSense, you need to add the Ads only through the Mobile Ads and them should not be in AMP format, because the theme automatically converts them when the AMP mode is enabled. Also, if you have some AMP Auto Ads, all of these sohuld have to be added through AMP ADS section.

Thank you!

Hi,

That flesh/slide of background color is not from mobile theme, usually is from some plugins, or it can be from rocket loader.
Please set the rocket loader to off like in our guide ->https://tagdiv.com/how-to-set-up-cloudflare-cdn/

Thank you !

Hi,

That is what the mobile editor is for, to create the mobile version of pages. It’s capabilities are simple, the composer cannot be used to create mobile pages.

So the desktop page can be created in any way possible in the theme, while the mobile page is restricted to be built with the mobile editor.

The mobile theme will work with AMP, they both have to be activated as mentioned in the guide from above. The “About” page mobile version can be created with the mobile editor, it is a normal page after all.

This theme demo has the mobile theme active
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_local_news/
Check it with a mobile to see how it looks and works, the AMP version will look mostly the same.

Let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks

Hi,

I have the same problem for https://www.africargus.com.

When I ran the google mobile friendly test, it seems that some pages (194) are containing errors since March, 27th 2019 :

Clickable elements too close together

Text too small to read

Viewport not set

Before I activated the theme’s mobile plugin, it said that it was unecessary to activate it, because the website was already responsive. However, Google search console was still showing those errors.

When I activated the mobile friendly plugin from Newspaper theme, it only worked on the homepage, not on the rest of the pages.

I thought it was because I didn’t update WordPress to version 5.1.1, (I’m currently using 4.9.8 version), but it seems that those issues are related to the theme in my opinion …

Can you please help me find a solution for my website ?

And how do we insert a meta viewport to take care of these issues ?

If you need more information don’t hesitate

Thanks a lot

Rita

Hi, would like to ask is there a proper css code for phone size ? when i place that code on mobile phones, it doesn’t dropdown the box or even break the whole menu when clicking the arrow to drop it. please do advise a nice css code for 3 columns to fit in. or maybe 2 will do. do include the screenshot as well. as i tried copy paste your code(it doesn’t match the screenshot code) from here, have to manually type out the whole code from your screenshot.

Okay. I activated my AMP. I’m using AMP+Mobile. I currently do not have an amp ad set up as I originally thought that was the issue. But even after removing it, i was getting the script error. I know that AMP ads are different and I was using them properly. They worked fine before the update. Now, they do not.

Does the “mobile ads” need to be in AMP format? Before they were separate.

Hi Calin,
the permalinks were already set on Post name, but I did it again.

I checked the setting from Yoast SEO for URL and meta.
I removed the mobile plugin and the amp plugin and then I install them again.
I even re-installed all the theme.
…nothing is working.

For some reason, I can’t disable mobile theme even though I have disabled all the mobile and AMP plugins.

Here is a sample of link http://bit.ly/DHdcm419 that should open to an event page without light blue mobile theme set by AMP plugin.

Only an issue when accessing page via iPhone only seems to be an issue when clicking on bit.ly via mobile.

Let me know if more info is needed.

Thanks

Hi
I have a rtl language installed on my WordPress account, I’ve selected Mobile Theme> use mobile theme for> AMP
‘Cause I don’t want to write a double content for my computer and mobile.

But when I choose just AMP it seems like there are 2 pages on my website, one contains the content and when I swipe to left the second one shows a balnk page.

Maybe it only will be fixed with css code.

Here is a screenshot:

Hi, I want to use the newspaper mobile plugin but only when a certain user-agent is active. I have a webview app which I would like to have view the mobile plugin style while leaving the mobile browser users to the default theme.

On line 478 of the Mobile_Detect file in the mobile plugin I have added my own user-agent string to get this to work as but want to know how I can edit the td_mobile_theme to do this instead on line 96 I see it has variables there but unsure of how to manipulate it.

Hi Calin,

Yeah, I’m not talking about the standard mobile header logo. I can find that myself, thanks.

This 600×60 logo is for Google’s News carousel. The 600×60 logo appears above the ”Top news stories” in Google. My Article structured data also can’t find my regular logo for some reason.

Do I need to edit functions.php or something? Help is appreciated!

Hello,

How can I use Mobile editor to create another version of page that contains the content?

Simion C.

Hi,

I believe the mobile theme plugin is active, that would explain it. When the mobile theme is active, pages that you created with the composer for example, will be blank on mobile (except the homepage which has predefined content)
https://tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-automatic-optimization-for-mobile-newspaper-theme/

Each page will require two versions, one for desktop and one for mobile (the mobile editor must be used). Using the mobile theme, a simpler (thus noticeably faster) version of the website will be displayed on mobile.

This plugin is optional however, if you deactivate it the responsive version will take place. Meaning the website desktop content will adapt for mobile.

I should note that the mobile theme can be used together with AMP since a few updates ago – https://tagdiv.com/amp-newspaper-theme/

Please let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks

Hi,

Unfortunately you can not do this settings, our theme is build to adapt the layout to the screen automatic, you can not redesign the row manually.
Please try to use some flex blocks, those have functionality to can be change on each device ( like you want to do with the row).
On desktop: https://www.screencast.com/t/6HKNJjl35i
On mobile: https://www.screencast.com/t/Ik42eacS3DgK

Hi,

For this you’ll need to change the logo in Theme panel>Header > Logo for mobile
https://www.screencast.com/t/wtJWLzYZRH this will change the header logo.

Thank you!

Hi,

Please set the permalinks on Post name, go in Settings > Permalinks -> https://www.screencast.com/t/rUe3OsvY and save the permalinks.
Also please check the setting from Yoast SEO for url and meta.
SEO-friendly URLs -> https://yoast.com/seo-friendly-urls/
The perfect WordPress SEO permalink structure -> https://yoast.com/wordpress-seo-url-permalink/

If you insert some custom code in mobile theme or amp, please remove those plugins and install theme again.

Also please make sure that the settings for amp are like in our documentation -> https://tagdiv.com/amp-newspaper-theme/

Thank you!

Hi
When I browse my website using my cellphone, the pages show a blank content with the title of the page.
But when I browse using my computer everything seems fine.

Hi,

If you have pages that are build with tagDiv Composer/WPBakery or any other builders and you active amp on those ( https://www.screencast.com/t/xXxGNcLOzg ), then you’ll need to set a new content in mobile editor for amp version, if your page content is build without builder/composers is no need for a seared content ( this is apply on pages ).
If the option in mobile theme is set on “AMP” the mobile version will display the desktop content and only the AMP version will display the content from mobile editor for page.

Also you can choose the settings from AMP if you do not want to have amp on pages -> https://www.screencast.com/t/vmvEqawCU8KR

Thank you!

So then what content will show on the AMP version of the post of page if no content is in the mobile editor?

Simion C.
tagDiv Staff

I believe I understand now. I tried setting a background image for the mobile menu zone, it appears like this – http://prntscr.com/n9wvi4 That is the height of the zone so the image background will have the same height. Using the full height setting will make the zone proportional to the viewport I believe.

In order to display a bigger mobile header to allow the background to be bigger as well, one solution would be to set some padding, for example – http://prntscr.com/n9wwig
http://prntscr.com/n9wwn5

Hi,

Please update the theme to the latest version of it which is 9.6.1 because in that version we have introduced a new feature on AMP which allows you to use it without Mobile theme. Only AMP! Please check our documentation from here -> https://tagdiv.com/amp-newspaper-theme/

Thank you!

AMP - reply

Hi,

If you are using the mobile theme only for amp ( if you are using the option “AMP” from mobile theme ) the ads that are set in theme panel will appear on responsive version of Newspaper theme ( will be use for mobile version the responsive version of theme not the mobile theme ).

Thank you!

Calin

Hi,

Yes, the AMP plugin will make automatically the posts/pages amp.
If you will choose to use that options, you do not need to make separate post/page, in mobile version will be show the responsive version of Newspaper theme;

Thank you!
