No reason it should “suddenly” stop working unless something else changed on your website. So, if you have auto plugin updates turned on or similar, then when stuff gets updated it might break things.
Perhaps try clearing caches (if any), resave permalinks, clear transients with WP-Optimize or similar.
Check error log on server and debug mode in WordPress, etc.
(I don’t work here.)
Usually best option is to un-do whatever changes you made which caused site to stop working.
it cannot “just suddenly stop working” unless something changed.
Usually, reinstalling theme is good choice, turn off plugins; disable auto-updates on anything that broke site.
Resave permalinks, clear transients with WP-Optimize; clear any caching used, etc.
I use Newspaper Theme and I can say you I solved this issue. I use 2 plugins for saving space in my hosting:
- WP Smush – it helps for reducing image size (but there are other tools)
- Optimize Images Resizing – it improves WP image sizes generation and save your hosting space
With Optimize Images Resizing you will have a thumb generated only if it is needed by your theme.
I had some categories in a block, others in other blocks. I had 10 different thumbs for each image: it was stressful. Now I have only 2-3 thumbs for each image.
Maybe this advise can help someone.

Thx a lot. The Page speed increased.
But the time to first byte ist very slow. I think, that my pictures are much too big. I will optimize them.
Hi,
We have not had any reports regarding this issue that you are having with the admin panel. Usually plugins are responsible for causing problems and interfering with the functionality.
The theme has these requirements for the server – https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ and also some modifications to these parameters if needed – https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Also I see that your website is taking some time to load the images – https://www.screencast.com/t/36E3Eyg4 and the whole content.
You can try and use this caching plugin with the recommended settings – https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/ and this guide to optimize page loading speed – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Thanks
Hi,
The Revolution slider is a very complex element, and could have an impact when placed on pages but should not be anything major. You can use these guides to configure the recommended cache, and also improve page loading speed and optimize your website
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Thanks
PHP 5.6 will help quite a bit, and may even be “required” for current version of WordPress.
Make sure 64M allocated to WordPress in your wp-config.php file.
Use fewer widgets on posts/pages and homepage; don’t use the “more from author” stuff bottom of posts, don’t use widgets in footer, etc. to ‘streamline’ your pages/posts.
Check with GTmetrix.com for other stuff perhaps not optimized.
Testing a ‘post’ on your site with GTMetrix.com (free) also insightful to see what you need to optimize for things like image optimaztion, time to live, server performance, etc.
See the theme docs and ‘tutorials’ section for tips on how to optimize your site for final deploy.
Any theme with complex CSS pre-builds, Visual Composer, and multiple options, will be “heavier” than a simple blog theme. Normally you determine your design choices, then optimize.

Hello,
How to optimize the theme code? There’s a lot of dirt. The performance is horrible.
Tks
Hi,
Please note this delay that you are observing depends mostly on how well the website is optimized and there are many factors could have a negative impact on page speed. You can improve your website loading speed using this guide
â https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
It is also recommended to use this recommended cache for best results with the settings specified here
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Another way would be to make changes directly in the themeâs files, then these will be loaded instantly with the rest of the stylesheet.
Thanks

Hi,
Please note this delay that you are observing depends mostly on how well the website is optimized and there are many factors could have a negative impact on page speed. More information here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ The speed booster plugin moves all the stylesheets and javascripts to the bottom of the page and a delay is visible if the website loading speed is not optimized. It is also recommended to use the cache recommended for best results as mentioned above.
Another way would be to make changes directly in the theme’s files, then these will be loaded instantly with the rest of the stylesheet.
Thanks
You can also test a post on your site with GTMetrix.com which will show you examples of HOW to fix things to optimize your site. My old old tutorial on the ‘best of tutorials’ section might be helpful too, but long read.
Hi,
This is better explained in this topic – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/admin-ajax-php-bandwidth-hog/
It seems to happen on mobile devices from what I can see in the log you have provided. Maybe you should try using the mobile theme plugin – https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ that features a lighter version of the theme optimizes for mobile devices.
Thanks
Hi,
I have installed the Medicine demo that comes with red background color for the header menu, but I do not have this problem. In your case there seems to be a delay for the background color to apply. You can try to optimize the website by installing this recommended cache plugin with the setting provided in this guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Also please check this tutorial about improving page loading speed

Hello, I really love this theme, it look amazing. Can you please help me by telling me what should I optimize and how in order to make it load decently?? At this time it loads pretty slowly, especially on mobile. Google speed test gives me only 40/100 when running tests. With the last theme I was having 85%.
I really don’t want to throw this theme away because of performance, i really like it đ
My website is: http://www.geekstips.com
Hi,
Fixed it. Report for others if they encounter this: I narrowed it down to a feature in the popular plugin EWWW Image Optimizer. If the option “Alternative WebP rewriting” is turned on, some VC features break. I’ve reported this to their support and for now can live without that option.
Hi,
I’ve version 7.8 with WP Super Cache and Mobile Theme active.
Not all posts are taking the mobile theme. The posts are pretty much the same, so I don’t understand why. Here are 2 examples:
This is working ok (open in a mobile, it will display the optimized mobile layout)
https://no-tox.org/guida-miele/
This is not working (open in a mobile, it will display the desktop page, see the footer)
https://no-tox.org/riconoscere-miele-contraffatto/
Any suggestion? Thanks
Hello polys_a,
Please notice that the speed of your website depends on how well your site is optimized. Notice that is not a simple task and if you do not have any experience in this regard you will do not bring good results for the theme. Also, notice that we have a speed optimization tutorial but this is addressed only to advanced users. So, if you follow the steps which are presented in this tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ you can increase the page speed loading and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because the speed optimization services is not covered by our support policy, as you can read here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/support-policy-2/ Check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ regarding on dedicated server to fit to our requirements.
Unfortunately, our theme does not have such an option to minify the style.css file and we cannot recommend any plugins with this functionality because is not tested with our theme. For minifying this file, we are using CloudFlare for our demo and works fine. If you want to read other views from our users, please check this topic -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tip-how-to-easily-minify-your-css-without-breaking-your-site/
One of our top members here on the forum wrote his own optimization tutorial here:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tutorial-chriss-custom-optimizations-for-functions-php-etc/ and here -> https://www.infophilic.com/get-almost-100-pagespeed-newspaper-theme/
Please keep in mind that at the moment, we cannot provide optimization services because this task involve time-consuming and we do not afford to do this, sorry! We only can provide support for basic theme settings.
If you are not aware of these steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!

Hello harmario,
Unfortunately, I do not exactly understand what type of menus you are referring to, sorry! Notice that our theme has only one menu for desktop and table and for mobile is the same menu but optimized for this mode. Most likely, your problem happens due to your caching plugin. Try clear all your caches, server cache and use only our recommended plugins. (especially WP Super Cache plugin) If you need more assistance in this regard and if the problem is still there, please provide your website URL and also, some useful screenshots with your problem for a better understanding.
Thanks for your message!
I went through all the Newspaper documentation and followed through all the steps to optimize the website, however, I am getting a very poor page insights score, and worst on the mobile version.
Mobile Score: 63
Desktop Score: 78
The website link is:
bookreviews.tv
I want to:-
1) Minify CSS
2) Minify HTML
3) Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content
Thank you for your reply.
style.css file is to big, How do I optimize it.
Hello muxurou,
Please notice that the speed booster is an optional plugin which can be activated in the same way as you install a new plugin.
The Speed Booster works only with the tested plugins. If you use other plugins, it will be automatically disabled, and I suggest to check this first in System Status. However there is a workaround to make it also work with other plugins, you can read more here â https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/speed-booster-not-compatible-with-vaultpress/
Unfortunately, the time doesnât allow us tot provide any custom and optimization services. We provide support only for the theme related issues based on Envato support policy â https://themeforest.net/page/item_support_policy I suggest to get someone to help you if you want to optimize your site.
Thanks for your understanding!
