Hello!

The mobile editor comes from the mobile theme plugin and AMP.
If you use cloud templates, then you can use an element as column text, raw HTML, or raw CSS to add codes.
You should use the mobile theme + AMP and add the code to the post you need in the mobile editor field.

Actually, we have 3 options for mobile versions that you can use:

1. Responsive version: A responsive version of your website looks similar to the desktop version. TagDiv Composer is used to edit the page.Click on the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB. There, you can see your mobile version and edit or adjust the elements to look better.

2. Mobile pages: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages

3. Mobile theme plugin: The Mobile Theme is a performance-optimized theme included in the main Newspaper theme that only loads on mobile devices. It comes with its own templates and designs for pages, posts, categories, etc., so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. Please see https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ and https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/ for more information.

A full explanation is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY

If you need to use the mobile version 1 or 2, then you need to uninstall the Mobile Theme plugin and AMP.

Thank you!

Hello!

Click on “Remove generated CSS” and see the results.
I recommend you to use only the Autoptimize. The CSS analyser is deprecated in the new version of the theme. Please update the theme and plugins too.

Thank you!

Hello!

Please follow the video to see where you can find and build your sticky header on mobile and desktop too: https://www.screencast.com/t/l6v2Belt
You can customize what you need in the TagDiv Composer if you use the cloud templates.
Please check our tutorial here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/

Hi everyone,

I got Newspaper, installed and configured with WP Super Cache (using the devteams suggestions), and Autoptimize.

Every time I run the CSS Analyser, my local loaded Fonts (in theme panel) disappear and the whole site is in “Times New Roman”.

Any help for that?

Thanks, Anamaria

As I see it to fix the Modal setting issue that is distorting the images loading on my site I can employ one of two options.

Option #1: (As you refer above – Make changes to WP Rocket settings)

All I need to do in the exclude modal images is in the disable box of WP Rocket – copy and paste this exact type: td-modal-image

No other letters or symbols?

Then I save and clear the cache in WP Rocket and that’s it right?

Option #2: Make changes to TagDiv “Post Settings” instead…

See this screenshot. I am paying for WP Rocket Premium to optimize my site in many ways, what if, I make the changes in TagDiv Modal settings instead?

Specifically, I would do this; disable “General Modal Image”, Disable “Modal image on MOBILE, and Disable “Smartlist” modal image. Disable All Three?

Wouldn’t this accomplish the same objective as reconfiguring my WP Rocket settings? Confirming, I really don’t need the modal options enabled to properly run the theme correct?

Thanks again for your prompt response and help!

Kevin

Follow up – According to the EWWW support site, there are many references to using their “tools” to cleanup and remove data files. (well a little too late since I deleted the plugin).

My question to the TagDiv experts is, should I reinstall the EWWW plugin temporarily, than follow some protocol to deoptimize all images they compressed? would this be the fix for image issues?
I sent EWWW a WP support request yesterday for suggestions but no reply.

Any other suggestions, instead of reloading the EWWW plugin?

Hello,

The page loading speed can depend on many factors, and each website is unique from this point of view. Let me explain some of these factors and maybe they give you some starting points for optimizing your website. A good choice for the page speed, could be the mobile layout which contains fewer elements because it can improve a bit your page speed.
There are many optimization guides provided by our users here in the forum, some made by us; you could check some of them

Also, pagespeed is not covered by support -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-support/

If you use Wp Rocket, you can try to exclude the following files
/jquery-?[0-9.](.*)(.min|.slim|.slim.min)?.js
/jquery-migrate(.min)?.js
/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/js/tagdiv_theme.min.js
tdBlocksArray

To be able to optimize and to remove CLS and LCP please check these guide => https://developers.google.com/web/tools/lighthouse/ -> https://www.sqlpac.com/en/documents/google-pagespeeds-lighthouse-6-new-features-lcp-cls.html -> https://web.dev/lighthouse-whats-new-6.0/ -> https://web.dev/lcp/ -> https://web.dev/cls/

TagDiv Support,

Need help.

I see now that I have the EWWW optimizer plugin deleted, when you click on any image on any of my pages, you get an error message that says “the image could not be loaded”.

I deleted the EWWW Optimizer plugin, cleared the cache, and pre-loaded it through WP Rocket, then cleared the browser, but still cannot view any images when I click on them, in any posts, except images that link to my affiliates like Amazon…

you can see this occurring on the first image of this post by clicking on man with beard riding cub cadet mower. https://besthomegear.com/best-riding-lawn-mower/

This is occurring on both Mobile and Desktop versions,

Thanks again for your support!

I see now that the EWWW optimizer plugin is disabled, when you click on any image on the page, you get an error message “the image could not be loaded”.

Right now that plugin is “disabled”. If I delete it altogether, then clear the cache will that error message likely disappear?

This is occurring on Mobile and Desktop.

Thanks again
Kevin

Hi AnnaMaria,
I will disable and clear ewww optimizer and check. Can you clarify mobile template question – where would i verify that on my site/theme?
thanks!

Hi,

I just checked, and indeed there seems to be an issue, I saw that you use ewww image optimizer and WP rocket, please disable ewww plugin, and purge all the cache, server, page, and browser cache, and check after.
Also, for mobile you use a mobile template?

Thank you!

Hi,

Please disable the the options to optimize the css and js from litespeed plugfin.
Also, this plugin creates an object-cache file in wp-content, please delete it -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/general-options-may-interfere-newspaper-theme/

Thank you!

@nhowarth

Hi,

Fonts in the latest Newspaper theme are already optimized. So, I will suggest ignoring the method you have mentioned.

You can disable theme fonts from the theme panel.

Hi,
For this problem https://i.imgur.com/JDT5JfE.png please go to the theme panel > headers and remove the header logo and add it again, this should resolve the problem.
Also, for this – https://i.imgur.com/sUVYS9P.png you can try a different post stele that one use the featured image as background image and it takes time to load the image and this is causing that CLS (you can use a different standard template or you can use a cloud template that can be better optimized).
Thank you!

Calin

Hello dragonwolf,
Unfortunately, the images are not accessible – https://i.imgur.com/S0EIaMT.png therefore we are not completely sure will refer to the same elements.
From what I see you are using only standard templates and those are not well optimized like the cloud template when it’s come to Core Web Vitals. Also, the theme version you have right now do not have any kind of optimizations for the Core Web Vitals (If I’m right you have a theme version from 2019, v10), what I recommend is to make a full backup for the website and update the theme to the last version, this should resolve some problems like alt on elements, explicit names, adding width/height on logo an other images.
Thank you!

Hello @newspatron!

However, page loading speed can depend on many factors, and each website is unique from this point of view. Let me explain some of these factors and maybe they give you some starting points for optimizing your website. A good choice for the page speed, it could be the mobile layout which contains less elements because it can improve a bit your page speed.
There is all about the DOM. Which means you need to have less elements into that container or row, as such on that page. I can suggest you only to take care of how many elements you use on that page. You can try to use a cache plugin or a plugin which can minify the page or combine some elements in order to reduce its size.
To increase the page speed you can check these similar topics for more solutions:

Please check the tutorials from those platforms gt metrix and Google Pagespeed Insights and I’m sure you can increase the page speed.

Hello,

A few days ago, we removed the “Optimize” and “WP Super Cache” plugins, which were not performing well in terms of Core Web Vitals (Google speed insight).

We replaced these plugins with the well-known “WP Rocket” in its premium version.

There are two display bugs on our site https://youpi.news/2023/08/01/cannibalisation-de-mots-cles/, and we would like your opinion on which CSS or JS elements to exclude from our WP Rocket configuration to restore the broken display.

In WP Rocket, we have the option to exclude CSS/JS files:

/wp-content/pluging/xxxxxx/(.*).css
/theme/some-theme/xxxxxx/(.*).js

or

/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.min.js

What should I exclude in CSS or JS to make the videos at scroll work on this type of page: https://youpi.news/2023/08/01/cannibalisation-de-mots-cles/?

Another problem, ever since we followed your guide for (WP Super Cache) and (Optimize), the sticky video at scroll no longer works… We don’t know how to correct this issue following your guide. You mentioned that these two plugins are compatible with your theme, but that’s not the case. How do we make the sticky video at scroll work when the “WP Super Cache” and “Optimize” are activated?

Bettina

Hello!

Unfortunately, we do not have any option or code to optimize pictures.
Maybe you can find a plugin in order to optimize and preload the images.

Thank you!
