I updated Newsmag 4 , And my home goes blank. Nothing on home page and also nothing on posts, Only logo and Menu appears, Help Please Thanks

I know is not a test it plugin, but you can make an effort I tried to solve the issue with your support team, it can be a very easy issue to solve.

Thought I would update this for anyone else that may wish to do the same.
What Bogdan advised me to do removed the attachment image and not the link but he put me on the right track so I’m extremely grateful to him.
What I actually wanted to do was remove line 299 in TD_Module, this is now perfect, thanks again Bogdan 🙂

Hi,
The surest method to update the theme is by FTP, but you can do it with WordPress as well. This is a guide mentioning the steps you need to take. As recommended make full backups before, just to be safe

You can contact your hosting provider and ask them to make the changes for you if needed, as they might have a recommended method in this matter.

Hi. When I click on the theme panel, the default page displays as text only, no formatting. There is a constant rotating box in the upper left corner, and a check mark next to it. I need to modify ads and I cannot get to them as the links are not responsive.
On a related note, I have tried to update to the latest version using the Envato app, but it also doesn’t do anything when clicked. I have downloaded the install and tried to update through the regular ‘appearance’ ‘themes’ area, but it won’t let me since Newspaper is already installed. I’m reluctant to delete and reinstall from scratch.

That would allow to change the category tags for by module, it will not matter what actual category is displayed. Maybe there will be more options for the category tags in future updates, but I cannot say for sure.

I used to be able to update easily using this plugin. Now the button just says customize which does not update. Do I have to update manually this time?

I’ve found a solution, not the best but it helped me solve this.
Here is my fix:
I have YoastSeo plugin and it solved my issues.
1. Go to each post and edit it.
2. In the Yoast screen, click the gear icon and in the canonical field, insert your old http url.
3.Update and scrape again using the fb debugger tool.
4.Click debug.
4.Click on scrape again 2 times.
5. Social signals are back.

I could not give you an exact date for the theme update, all I can say is that the developer team is working to implement considerable more elements to the tagDiv composer. There will be many more options and functionality added in the future theme update, including buttons in this case.

I am on Godaddy shared hosting and they have an option to update. Has anyone with Newspaper 7.6.1. upgraded to PHP 7? I want to make sure they are compatible before I do it. Any suggestions on how to go about this?

I have the same problem with the Visual Composer buttons. Is it ok to have both composers (tagdiv and visual composer) activated until the update? And could you please estimate how long it would take to have these button elements in tagdiv?

1)Please try again to download the theme from Theme Forest because only from there you can get the latest theme’s version.
2)The latest theme version is Newspaper 8.1.2 in 31.10.2017. We have made some changes on our TF page and that’s why appears there that date because then the page has been updated.
3)What do you want to rectify? It’s something wrong? Provide more details.

Hello, I updated to latest version of Newspaper 8.1.2 and I updated WPBakery Page Builder to version Version 5.4.2. But now all my pages are aligned left and not centered which I originally had them.
When I edit the page using Page Builder it looks normal. I use the 1/4 + 1.2 + 1/4 column for all my pages.
But for some reason 1/1 and 2/3+1/3 and 1/3+1/3+1/3 are always highlighted in blue and no matter which one I choose, these 3 are always highlighted blue… same thing when I create a new page to test. I will not change.
When I hover over the different alignment options they turn an off white color and I can pick another column alignment and it’s highlighted with the off white color, but it does not change anything.. These other 3 remain blue…
Also, do I need to delete Tagdiv Composer? It’s listed now next to Classic Mode.. I can’t remember seeing it there before…

yeah. That plugin kind of sucks.
FTP is better way to consistently update theme without breaking, and also allows you to make a safety backup at same time!

Hi, I have just updated the NewsMag theme to 4.1 after that some images are looking too big, not in the same dimension which was set previously. Also few pages are not opening which was hyperlinked on images.

Note that your web browser has caching (e.g., Chrome); and also WP does have some micro caching (‘transients’) in place which can be cleared using WP Optimize to clear those transients (I use it once a day here to clear cobwebs per site).
Also, technically most modern versions of PHP 5.6 and up have ‘opcache’ running which helps to do caching of stuff like pages with many requests.
So, if you view home page — all those things cache the page in your browser — and then you do new post, go back and look, new post not there. This is normal. However, a NEW visitor would only see the newly updated content.
(short answer was YES! and NO! — theme not doing that; it’s WP, PHP/Server side, and browser cache… )
