Hi,
I would like to know if i can change my theme and theme-child folder names, like : example.com/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/ and example.com/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/ to example.com/wp-content/themes/NewName/ and example.com/wp-content/themes/NewName-child/.
Can i do this without having problems in the future (for updates)?

I have another issue with theme and Yoast SEO plugin. When i activate Yoast SEO plugin then it will create issue with Grid Builder in visual Composer. It do not save settings and show some errors in console. Please let me know where is the issue.

Hello,
The best thing to do when updating your theme from version 4 is to delete your old theme and simply install the new one. Please make sure you do a back-up before. Then you need to run the update script as suggested here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Make sure you update the plugins as well. Some parts of your website will need to be recreated as elements became deprecated in visual composer so it will require a bit of work on your side.
Sorry for the inconvenience but this is the case when updating from newspaper 4. The new version of our theme was built from scratch so it will be like switching to a new theme (sort of, as we tried to keep compatibility between the 2 as much as possible)

UPDATE: Followinf previous advice from developers in the site we deactivated Ypast FB admin, and still the problem persists (no share posible or only shares links as text without image or text).

we get this error “Warnings That Should Be Fixed

But is seems to scrape text and image all right. But still no way to share

I did the theme update as you suggested, however now the theme has a different layout than the original tagdiv newspaper layout…it was compromised somehow and lost several feature elements. The top section (4 articles) is OK but everything below that lost a lot of its visuals, formatting and features…now there is way too much whitespace and none of the subfeatured photos/articles are rightly displayed. It is all messed up!

Unfortunately, I neglected to do a new backup of the database. This has always worked just fine before so I just didn’t think it was necessary. BTW, i never got any notice at all of a new theme version before you sent me the last email.
Can you please help me restore the original Newspaper theme?

Unfortunately, our theme does not have any such an options in this regard, sorry! Regarding on updating theme we have three way which can update the theme, like this -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ If you want to display more levels in our theme and if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!

You have to update your version of visual composer. That is why you see the error. You are trying to install a version of VC that is not supported anymore. Please disable your plugin and delete files from the WP plugins section and then simply install the plugin from here: http://screencast.com/t/CpIJPmgjil91

In a future update, it is possible but we cannot say for sure if it will get done in the next update because we have a big list of fixes, improvements, and suggestions to implement. It’s hard to filter them and select which one gets implemented now and which one gets postponed. The developers decide if it gets done or not, though.

The visual composer activation message appears on all sites that use visual composer, not matter the theme or domain. In our case you must ignore this message as visual composer does not require activation whe it;s provided in the theme package. The theme will not automatically update if you do not use Envato WordPress plugin. Please notice that our theme can be updated using three ways, as you can see here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ We recommend using only the FTP method because this is the surest way in this regard.

I suppose that you have some problem with your theme install. Please ensure that you are using the latest version of it which is Newsmag 3.2 and also, the latest version of required plugins which come bundled with the theme packet (Visual Composer 4.12.1 and Social Counter 4.1). Please ensure that you have installed all of these, clear all your caches, purge CDN files if you are using the CDN system and check the results. Your Theme panel->Ads Section should look like this -> http://screencast.com/t/x2NrdQtnQnYc If you are using some untested plugins, please try to disable all of these and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out any conflicting plugins.

I love the WordPress P2 theme autoupdating feature. And in the era of Facebook live updates, it would be interesting for a post, page, or custom post to be built to have the front-end posting ability and autoupdate any new posts for the visitor.
Has anyone tried this with a post, custom post, page in the Newspaper theme?
P2 is the only theme I’ve come across with the update feature.

The plugin is updated when the next full theme is updated, not before.
The next version of the VC plugin will be included with the next version of the Newsmag themne, which likely won’t be released until the new major version of WordPress comes out in couple of weeks (4.7) which has a *lot* of changes. SO, they have to make sure theme works with WP 4.7, and then will push an update if needed, and this might include VC 5.0.
Again and again and again …
you cannot update VC to 5.0 until the theme is updated.

I understand. I cannot deny the existence of the issue if it has been reported. I do not claim we are perfect in any way, far from it, but I think if this were the case, all the forum would have blown up with such requests. Even the slightest issue turns into a monster on this forum and you will see lots and lots of topics with the same subject. A high traffic loss after an update that affects all users would have been seen a mile away. I do not claim it does not happen, but I think there are just too few users reporting this. This is the third case we had since version 7.3 of such report so I think it’s safe to say that the conditions under which this happens are pretty limited. Either that or people simply do not check their traffic… but that’s a bit of a long shot. What I can say is that I already reported such issues to our development team and if they find anything, they will fix it in the coming updates. Until then , use the version that is most stable for you and always to a back-up before updating to the next version.

First of all, please ensure that you have respected our list of requirements for our product, like this -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ Also, try to update the theme to the latest version of it and also, all the required plugins which come bundled with the theme, clear all your caches and test it again. Basically, the latest Fatal error is happening due to the old version of Visual Composer. Try to update it and check the results.
