Hello there,
I’ve been having some difficulties with the mobile version after the update, I’ve searched and tried many suggestions but no luck.
I have
Wordpress: 4.6.1
Newspaper 7.4 [installed via envato toolkit]
Visual comp: 4.12.1 [manual install]
Social counter: 4.1 [manual install]
Slide rev: 5.2.5.1 [manual install]
Speed booster: 4.5 [activated, however, in theme panel system status it say’s it’s deactivated due to a number of other plugins]
Currently my website is in the default mobile version. When I install the latest mobile plugin the site is unusable and you can only see the following error message.

If I deactivate and delete the booster plugin, but leave the mobile plugin installed, I still have the same error message.
If I install the booster but delete the mobile plugin, then the mobile website works by default style.
So, this lets me know it’s the mobile plugin.
From the forums I found a similar problem and the temporary solution was to install mobile plugin v1. When I use install this plugin, my website shows the mobile version! however, it will not load any menus on the drop down. So I have removed all and gone for default but now I can’t change the colours etc.
Any suggestions welcome

The issue is most likely related with new version of WordPress and to fix it are required some changes in wp-core files. Usually those issues are fixed by wp’s developers and for the moment we need to wait for the next update.

The Visual Composer that comes bundled with the theme is licensed to the theme and only we can provide updates. In each theme version released we provide the latest version of V.C. available on market, so if you use version 7.4 of the theme, you can also update the Visual Composer plugin to version 4.12.1 which is provided in the theme package. Please install and activate the Visual Composer pagebuilder provided with the theme. Te rog updateaza si pluginul Social Counter la versiunea 4.1 inclusa in pachetul temei. Dezactiveaza si sterge versiunea curenta, apoi incarca ultima versiune care poate fi gasita in folderul Plugins – https://forum.tagdiv.com/whats-included/
De asemenea updateaza si pluginul Visual Composer, daca nu ai facut-o inca – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/

This code is not generated by the theme and I assume that there is a plugin or a custom js which causes that conflict. Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches then test the site again. Also make sure that you’re using V 7.4 of Newspaper theme and Social Counter is also update at v 4.1 which is included in theme’s path. Hello how do i update the visual composer plugin?
Hello, anything I do, that menu stays like that. sometimes it works just fine, but sometimes I have to F5 the page to get rod of the menu… Is the default settings, no settings imported via demos. Plugins installed: Askimet, Photo Box, Shield, Shortcodes Ultimate, tagDiv Speed Booster,
WPBakery Visual Composer (which sreams for update for a long time btw), and Yoast SEO.

When updating the theme, modifications done to the php files will be lost. If you do not know what was changed you can use winmerge to compare the theme files if you still have the old version intact somewhere. (you need to compare the same version of files in order to see what was modified.) and then make a back-up of the modifications and try to re-apply them to the new theme files. There is no simple way of customizing the theme and maintaining the modifications when updating. There is no update proof method to modify the theme files.
As for the plugin mentioned, we have no idea of it’s functionality .I cannot say for sure if it will work or not with our theme as it is not tested.

The theme won’t ask the purchase code again after update, you don’t need to worry about this.
You’re using a very old version of Newsmag theme and if you update it you will need to re-build the pages made with Visual Composer as the shortcodes were changed.
Before making any changes in your site make sure you do a full backup to your current wp-install and the database also: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups This is a security measure, in case something goes wrong you can always get back to previous version.

I have tested on my side, just created a smart list 6 with more images and captions and all of these seems to work as properly, as you can see here -> http://screencast.com/t/G1y0oT9mPq2k I have inspected your page source and I noticed that you are using some untested plugins which can interfere with the theme and cause a lot of unknown issues. Please try to disable all your active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out any conflicting plugins. Also, you can try to update the theme to the latest version of it -> Newspaper 7.4.

Try to install the latest version of the theme which is Newspaper 7.4. All required plugins come bundled with the theme, like as Visual Composer 4.12.1 and Social Counter 4.1. Update the theme to the latest version of it, clear all your caches and check the results. I have been trying to install quick adsense plugin ( the WP Quad version) on newspaper 6.3 and it gives me a 404 error.
Yesterday I updated to Newspaper 7.4 and although it doesn’t gives any error at all it does not show any ads.
I also tried Adsensei plugin and it’s the same problem. Neither of them show any ads at all.
Does anybody had this problem? Any suggestion?

how do you update to 7.3, when I tried it made me download files, but I don’t kno what to do with them.

Your actual custom css are here: Theme panel / CUSTOM CODE / Custom CSS.
You have to cut all code is there (after cut have to save theme-settings) and paste it into the style.css
2 ways for do it:
- through FTP (downloading style.css and attaching that code at the bottom of the file / upload and rewrite the new style.css
- through WP dashboard / Appearance / Editor / Style sheet (style.css), at the bottom you can paste it. / push the botton “update file”
*Always make a backup before any changes 🙂
Solved it.
Updated to WP 4.6.1 then theme 7.3.
Uninstall the vb plugin. Then upload it from your themefile (download it from themeforest account and unzip)
I’m having the same issue.
Just updated to wordpress 4.6.1, Running theme 6.6.3.
When I start a new post and click on “add element” the VB window opens but nothing happens which I click for example “row”. I close the box and it shows no change, but when I go into text editor it shows the code but still won’t display anything in backend editor.
If I leaave and come back to the post or visit a new post, it shows nothing until I go into text editor and remove the VB code.
Any suggestions?
Hi, I am the owner of a newspaper 6 and the visual composer does not work, plus there is a newer version of this visual composer but I am not offered the update.
