Just wondering about 2 things:
1) Is there anyway I can have the theme automatically update without me manually doing it?
2) If I manually update the theme, will some settings/designs/etc .. be reset or will everything remain exactly the same?
Hello, I’ve updated Newspaper theme to latest version 7.0 and now the website’s header appears to be broken on chrome browsers:
However it looks fine on firefox:

the issues is caused by the “Podlove Podcast Publisher” plugin.
I am going to get in contact with the developers to fix it.

i have switched off all plugins but still anuble to uplaod any images.. there a new update of newsmag i will try to upgrade the web and see..

First of all, please ensure that you are correctly installed the new update via FTP because this method is most safety way in this regard. Also, please ensure that you are using the latest version of Visual Composer (4.11.2), Social Counter (4.0) and also, you have to use the latest version of child theme that comes bundled with our theme. Try to add all your customization from your old child theme to the new child theme and check the results.

To update – all is well with the update now – but the mobile theme strips ads out – because they’re not Google Ads they are sold by myself to local businesses is there a way to use the mobile theme with the ads still there?
Happy either way but would be good to know – already lost native ads on AMP AND Facebook Instant Articles and so have to show them on the mobile version of the site – if not will switch it off but would be good to get speed benefits.

Please make sure that you’re using last theme version available on themeforest and also update Visual Composer plugin at V 4.11.2 which is included in its path. Hi, my visual composer wasn’t working (infinite loading) so i decided to update it to see if that solved the issue, and it did but now i get a message saying i don’t have a license and asking me to purchase one.
I have:
Newsmag version: 2.3.6
Visual composer version Version 4.11.2
What i did was:
1. Went to pluins uninstalled visual composer.
2. Downloaded newsmag from themeforest site.
3. Added new plugin, uploaded from PC found at \Newsmag\includes\plugins\js_composer.zip
I thought this was the correct procedure? When i check license it takes me here:

After WordPress updated at V 4.5 there appeared a jQuery conflict in our theme. We fixed this conflict and the current theme version available on themeforest works fine, also we included last version of Visual Composer plugin.
Try to update the theme at current version avalable on themeforest, also update Visual Composer at V 4.11.2 following our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ deactivate all other plugins, clear all caches and test again.

Sorry for that, the issue is only on mobiles it seems. I only checked through an emulator but on checking with mobile devices, the issue is there again. It seems the issue was not fixed neither by the new version of WP nor the theme update.

In a future update, it is possible but we cannot say for sure if it will get done in the next update because it is not a simple task and also, we have a big list of fixes, improvements, and suggestions to implement. It’s hard to filter them and select which one gets implemented now and which one gets postponed. The developers will decide if it gets done or not, though. Thank you for your suggestions.

I had disable all plugin and just activate the original plugin that come with the updates files but still no luck. This problem occurred after upgrading to version 7.
To make things worst, i can’t view my page in smartphone if I activated the TagDiv Mobile Theme plugin.

Well you already figured it out. Please update your social counter bu deactivating and deleting files and installing the correct one from here: http://screencast.com/t/ZxtxdfG5 Make sure you have version 4.0 of the counter for it to work on newspaper 7 as multiple styles were added to the plugin that are not supported on older versions.

@wildmercury the back-end changes if you activate the mobile theme as on pages there will be an extra mce editor for the mobile theme page. You can edit this page but not with visual composer. That is why you have the “strange” changes in tehe back-end because there are 2 editors now. One for desktop and one for mobile. If you deactivate the mobile theme, the second editor will be gone.
As for the social counter, please make sure you have version 4.0 installed and then follow this guide to properly set it up: https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial-2/
@eddycom Something might have gone wrong with the installation of the theme or the update. Please remove the theme altogether via ftp and access your wp-admin without the theme and see if there is still an error. Then install the theme following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/

Hi,
1) The images disappeared because of a plugin you installed that is not compatible with our theme and that caused the javascript to break and images to not display anymore. Please try to remove the plugin causing this issue. You can try to disable all of them except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Then activate them one by one and figure out which one causes the issue.

There are a number of new features in newspaper 7 that are covered in the documentation so might want to read a bit about the new features.

Unfortunately this is the case with every premium theme. Not all plugins are compatible and when major updates are released, some plugins could stop working or others could start working as the code gets changed. The code is custom in a premium theme and plugins are created based on the wordpress default code. That is why incompatibility happens. unfortunately there is little we can do in this matter.

i was updated the theme to version 7. And i install mobile theme. But if i activated the mobile theme plugin i can not access this menu ( http://piixel.id/wp-admin/nav-menus.php). And the menu not show if i access my site with my phone.

Please try to deactivate all your plugins and most important clear all caches and CDN files. Also access the theme panel and hit the save button if you have not after you updated.

Please ensure that you have updated your theme completely and also, via FTP because it the most safety method in this regard. Also, please ensure that you are using the latest version of Visual Composer 4.11.2. Clears all your caches and check the results. Also, please try to use the theme without any untested plugins to rule out the conflicting plugins.
