Hi,
For some time, I have a problem with the Cloud Templates plugin. When I click in the control panel: Cloud Templates, I see only: https://www.SITE.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=tdb_templates (blank page),
and that’s all. I can not make a new one, I can not see old …
What’s the problem? Theme updated.
(Site is: https://www.koznazna.com)
Thanks
@giacomolaw have no idea about speed 🙁
Newspaper theme is pretty slow 🙁
Looking around how improve it,
I think best benefits which you can get its bug fixing, and security updates!
For me this point much important, but fix performance will be great too 🙂
@reatlat I had it updated and I think it caused the issue. I am using a child theme. Don’t really see any real benefit of updating to the latest version anyway as it seems to add more clutter such as extra demo themes.
Does 9.5 offer speed improvements?
Going to skip this version.
Thanks 😀
@giacomolaw I have few different project based on Newspaper… all updated to version 9.5 without any error. I always update theme using ZIP file and just re upload theme using plugin which I link you before.
Just try!, You always can roll back.
I believe its an issue with 9.5. Going to hold back to update now, going to see if anything is fixed in later versions as I know people are having issues with 9.5.
@giacomolaw perhaps you have issue with file uploading…
How you tried update theme? with patch? or upload new theme directly?
try use plugin Update Theme and Plugins from Zip File
and upload new theme zip file
after installation new theme you not need activate it just ignore this step.
Also this plugin have a great option to save backup old theme or plugin version(check settings)
If you no have modified files in your theme this is the best way to update Newspaper theme without errors!
Hi,
is there any update on this. I too need to create child theme for my mobile version.
Regards,
Sathya

Ensure you are using the latest version of the theme (9.5) and that you have updated the core tagdiv plugins from Newspaper>Plugins in your WordPress dashboard.
Before I was using function.php for ASC using the codes below.. Well, modifying in every update, sure 🙁
add_action('wp_head', 'custom_change_posts_order');
function custom_change_posts_order() {
global $query_string;
if (is_category(array(33,34,35,36,37,38,39,44,48,49,51,53))) {
$posts = query_posts( $query_string . '&orderby=date&order=asc' );
}
}
Now, I’ve started to use “Nomad Demo” and this is not working.. I think I need to change something about POST LOOP but I don’t know how. Well, my knowledge about codes is minimal..
Trying to update from 8.1 to 9. I am expiriencing the same problem right now. Tried to update a couple of times, FTP wise, cPanel, deactivated plugins, erasing theme… same thing. The only option i have is to try and ask my provider to lift the memory alocation that is currently yellow in the System status tab (from 40 to min. 64) and max_execution_time (30 to 60). Everything else is green. I will post the result here, hope it will work.
Hi,
“I try to explain when I access by google search (with amp detected because I see the icon with AMP) the first access is with AMP but if I navegate (the next redirection) appears as normal. ”
– Yes, this is normal AMP behavior. Google developed the amp pages as a starting point for a user coming from their search page. Meaning: a user searches for something on google and they enter a page from the search results. They felt that they needed to give mobile users a faster result of that page because when a user clicks on a search result they should see the desired page really fast rather than waiting until the full original website is loaded.
But, if the user tries to navigate further than that specific page they landed on, they will navigate to the original site. Even if they navigate further to a page that also has an amp version… they will still navigate to the original version.
Between you and me, AMP does not use any next generation technology or anything of the sort 🙂 . AMP pages are just stripped down of scripts and animations or any “eye candy” elements that can affect the page’s size/speed. If you think about it, AMP pages actually use old school (simple) html before all the pretty things came into practice 🙂
And they way they work is like this: lets say you search for “list of best best wordpress plugins”… Google shows you the results. Lets say that the first 3 links are AMP pages. Well, even though you did not even click any of them yet…google will still load them in the background of your phone browser, all 3 of them, so that when you actually click on it it will be instant.Thus, for a page to be cached and used in their AMP system they require webmasters to server really thin and stripped down pages for the transfers to be as small as possible. If you use any scripts or anything like that your page will not even qualify as an amp page, they have strict rules for this.
They don’t care if a page is slow for a user when visited directly or navigated. They only care for the landing page a user gets when clicking on a search result 🙂
Did the user get their desired search answer when clicked on a search result in a fraction of a second? Yes? Well then our job is done, should he navigate further on that site on other pages that have no relations to our search result ..that is their problem 🙂
I went a bit on the topic 🙂 In short answer to your question , yes this is exactly how google intended to be with amp pages. It’s normal behaviour.
“And… another question… I have more 1000 posts wrote. Only appears with amp … 70? Is this normal?”
Unfortunately, with google and search results nothing is 100% for sure. They have guidelines but they are always just guides. Notice they always use words like MAY, MIGHT, SHOULD and never use words like WILL.
To quote them from various things:
If you use a custom meta description Google MIGHT use it as the page’s description in the search result, or it MIGHT not.
If you have a page that points to an amp version of it, google MIGHT use it for mobile search results. Then again it might not 🙂
A google engineer actually said once, quote”We know how the search AI should think but most of the times he takes decisions that we do not understand”
So to answer your question, it can take a while until google indexes and updates their search results for your AMP pages. And they also might not show the amp version for any search results but only for specific keywords they feel appropriate.
If you want to be sure that Google sees that page as a valid amp page simply use their validation tool from here: https://search.google.com/test/amp
If this tool says the page is valid without any errors this means it has passed their test and once they feel appropriate they will use it in search results.

Hi,
I am confused by reading the Newspaper forum and the tagDiv sales pages about the compatibility of these software. Are the current versions of Newspaper (9.5) and the current version of Buddypress 4.1.0 compatible?
Also, in the future if I install the latest version of Buddypress and then install the latest version of Newspaper will they still be compatible? In other words, does tagDiv rollout updates to its themes without checking the compatibility with the latest plugins it claims to be compatible with?
For example, say its 2025 and we are on Buddypress 6.3 and Newspaper 12.4. Then tagDiv rollsout Newspaper 12.5, will tagDiv test that it is compatible with Buddypress 6.3 before releasing its newest version?
A guiding principle is to try to keep all plugins updated as much as possible.
Thank you for you time.
Hello Calin
I have the same problem. But does it mean that the Envato plugin that we use for Updates is not Good?
So Every time a new update comes up, we have to download and upload again, what happens to those that have some mini customizations on their site.
They will start over to customize again?
Whats the Envato plugin used for then if I can’t use to update and get everything clean directly from my dashboard.
Please, what is the Simplest way to fix this Error my website is just down because of it.
Thank you.
Hi
Thank you for your response, I already deactivate pagebuilder that solved my issue for a while. I just want the tagdiv team know about this bug and fix it on the next update.
Thanks
‘Font Awesome 4 Menus’ hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. The plugin last updated 2 years ago. I used the latest WordPress version. What should I do? Should I install it or not? Is there any alternate option?
Earlier, I used ‘Menu Icons’ sometimes. It was good till WordPress 4.9 but in WordPress 5, some icon gets attached to the menu text without giving any space between them in the mobile theme.
All information about the released versions of the Newspaper theme should be taken only from the official source: https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609
For the latest update news please follow developers blog on http://tagDiv.com/blog
The most recent version of the Newspaper theme at the moment is Version 9.5 (February 6th, 2019).
Hi There,
I want to update from Newspaper 7.8 to the latest version, and I have a few questions:
1. If I follow the updating instructions at the link below, will all my settings be lost (i.e. will I have to go in and reselect my header style, font settings, block settings, etc?)
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
2. Will the custom CSS I’ve inputted also be lost? And if so, is it just a matter of copying it and pasting it back in after the update?
Thanks!
Dave
My full startingpage is looking different since the new update.
If I try to edit the page which i just created a few weeks ago with the old TD Composer an error will occur:
Error at zones: 5(models) : 0(dom). The model does not match the content
If i change the page template to standard template i can edit it.
But this is not useful at all as i want no footer on my landing / main page.
If i use the blank-template the Container is fully streched and can’t edited.
Hope you will fix it soon.
Kind regards.
Daniel
Hi calin,
I just send you the login credentials .Please feel free to make changes and once it is done kindly update me.
DOUBLE UPDATE: It looks like the Categories template I loved on the Tagdiv cloud was a twist on the Newpaper Photography template, I can figure it out from here. Thanks anyway. I sure wish there was a larger support team as the community sure seems to outnumber staff. A good problem to have business wise!
Since the last update, I can’t seem to be able to put the element “widget sidebar” in a category template.
Like this: https://prnt.sc/mij5db
I drag it and drop it in the sidebar, but it won’t stay.
I do the same with the ad box element, and it’s normal.
I need to test it with other elements, but this one is the only bug I’ve seen so far.
Thank you.
Thanks, waiting for update.
Please don’t forget about ok.ru 🙂
UPDATE: I went ahead and deleted my entire site. Will start from scratch again…
I’m trying to make a Tagdiv Category Template into my homepage.
I’m unable to achieve that unless I copy/paste the Cloud Category Template shortcodes into a new page and then set that as my homepage.
(See Daca.me)
I want my homepage to be what you see in Daca.me/category/DACA/ without having people type that long url in.
I tried having WordPress redirect Daca.me to that url but Tagdiv composer’s blank template seems to override this.
I installed 9.5 update by the installation method via wordpress.
I’m not afraid to lose content, just made sample posts for now. I’m getting the hang of post styles but I also am not able to get any of the featured images on new posts to even show up as an option for edit.
Please help! (I’ve been reading the documentation with limited success in finding straight-forward answers.)
(I don’t want to create a redirect with my host, otherwise i would have resorted to that.)
Hi,
After I updated to 9.5, My featured image that is supposed to be loaded as an image header background(template 6) appears momentarily then fades. Not sure what causes this.
