That update contained mostly fixes, there were no major changes in the theme. Maybe all these issues are caused by insufficient resources. There were similar cases where having multiple plugins activated and not enough WP memory resulted in the theme or plugins not functioning correctly, as well as 500 errors.
Check the theme system status panel

Ask your hosting to increase those parameters as mentioned in the guide if needed. Then check if this has any effect in the matter.

Hello, since the last update, 8.7.3, we are facing troubles with our site.
We have been used for a while Photo Gallery by Envato, since we build our website. Now, whith the theme activated, we are no able to insert gallery on our posts, or open any option on the gallery plugin. If i desable the theme, the gallery works perfect.
The same happens with wp super cache and youtube free plugin, when they are activated, the website returns a HTTP 500 error. These plugins was working perfectly before the update. We dont update to version 8.7.4 yet, afraid of new problems. If the theme is desactivated, everything works perfectly.
All these plugin was working perfectly before the update.
Can you help us on that?

Please update the theme to the latest version of it which is 8.7.4 via FTP way, clear all the caches and check the results.

It is recommended to use only one page builder for all pages. We will try to add more elements in the tagDiv composer in coming updates.
Also there will be options that will work only with the tagDiv composer, so if you are looking to make a decision now, we strongly recommend our page builder.
If both page builders are used on the same page (which may happen, maybe you don’t remember which one you used on a specific page) the page may be damaged.
When both are active, elements placed on pages with either one may not work as they should.
So to avoid these issues choose a page builder and use only that. A side note would be that if in the future you decide to switch composers, it will require the pages to be rebuilt.
I have the latest update already installed (http://www.pinoyhiphopsuperstar.com/) but every change in header style, layout etc. everything in the Theme Panel takes too long to take effect, usually I can preview the changes made in seconds right after I saved the settings. It’s now hard to customize everything and pretty annoying.

In 8.7.3 Instagram was fixed, and in the latest theme version Facebook should also work properly in the social counter.
Please update the theme and your Instagram related elements should work as expected. maybe clear your cache after updating. This is the theme update guide if you want to take a look

It would require that a featured video actually be set in the dedicated field

Only then it will be set as featured in the post page, and also the thumbnail will be created from the video. So a video link would have to be entered in that field and the post format set as video, then update the post. Also one from the recommended post templates should be used for video posts.

I believe it was a decision when the theme was created, a sidebar was considered enough for the post page for example. Maybe this will change in a future update, I cannot say for sure if there are any plans in this matter however. Sorry for the inconvenience.

We have changed the FB implementation in our latest theme update which you can download from envato now. We do not use the FB keys anymore as they seem to be very problematic since the FB scandal. Please update your theme and social counter plugin.

The last update of the super cache, transformed the web version in mobile theme in ipad devices which is bad and wrong, because ipad supports web desktop and you have no reason to be mobile, how can we reverse it?

You can’t. It works fine, you just need to ignore nag screen. And you can update plugin to new version when theme is updated or you can buy licence from WPBakery (but thats pointless to do just becouse of nag message).
PS:
tagDiv recommend switching to their Composer and that’s probably a smart thing to do since they are adding more and more options to it, but I can’t force myself to do it because it’s not user-friendly compared to WPBakery

Please also update the theme plugins by deactivating and deleting them and installing them again from the main theme package. The theme plugins do not update along withe the theme. They have to be deleted and reinstalled.

how can I update a child theme? I thought it’s enough when I use an updated parent theme – there I use the current version.
If I deactivate the child theme, the AMP-version of tagDiv is still faulty. It seem that It display the standard header among other errors (like the amp-version will not open autmatically when you surf mobile).
I would be very happy if you help cause I will be in a few days in vacation and don’t want to lost my SEO-Ranking and also visitors.

I have inspected your website and I did not get any error. Also, I have checked your source page and I saw that you are using an old theme version (Newsmag 2.0 version) with the child theme. If you want to achieve well results you should update the theme to the latest version of it, switch the theme to the main theme, clear all the caches and check the results.

I am not sure if I understand correctly but to solve issue 2 I just installed the latest update. Now the header is displayed correctly.
For issue 1 please refer to my previous posts. From what I have figured out so far the wrong image size only appears in Firefox and on high resolution displays (1920×1080 px). It looks fine on any resolution below that. For this I still don’t have a solution…

Has the Instagram bug already been fixed? I am using a plugin to account for it, but in the Newspaper theme panel it warns about incompatibility with this Instagram plugin (see attachment).

Are there any plans to update the mobile theme so that it can be more customizable? I understand that the theme is already mobile responsive, but I’d like to create a mobile version of my site with same sized and evenly spaced blocks as you scroll down, similar to PopSugar’s mobile site. http://www.popsugar.com
