Hi there,
I purchased this theme with the impression and false advertising that it comes with the all mighty visual composer. As a newbie this was really awesome. Now as far as I’m aware Tag Div have deactivated this front end feature?
I even went ahead and purchased the full version again and reinstalled it as all the advertisements and forums said I have to purchase the licence to have its full function. Still nothing. In fact it does not recognise my licence either. It seems that the themes integrated VC over rides my download and installation?
Please advise, as I find it a little finicky to edit from a list of fields…Very frustrated at this stage and would greatly appreciate the use of the front end version of VC.

I keep update the theme and plugins all the time as you push updates. I just wonder why Revolution Slider and Visual Composer always asking to update. When I tried to update it always failed because it is bundled with theme.
Could you please do something for it? It is very annoying to see alert all the time.
Is there a way to disable this functionality from template removing sidebars if visual composer is used? I have a page that does not use VC, but uses another shortcode from gravity forms .. this is causing page to display without sidebar. I would like sidebar on my pages, even if I use visual composer. Any way to disable that from happening? Thanks.
Note: The settings from this box only work if you do not use visual composer on this template. The template detects if visual composer is used and it removes the title and sidebars if that’s the case.
Sharing this issue with you, to make you aware, and perhaps there is a fix?
When I try to save a Page that uses Visual Composer shortcodes, I get error:

I have discovered that if I open this file:
/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_block.php
and comment out this line:

// disable this line fixes page save echo $this->block_template()->get_css();
return '';
}
.. then I able to save VC pages without error.
I wonder if anyone else has this error? Or perhaps something unique to my environment. Anyway glad I am able to fix this way, for now. Thanks!
First of all let me start by saying that we have been TagDiv / Newspaper users for 2 years now and after all this time in our opinion TagDiv continues to deliver the best quality theme we could find (although we were a bit lucky at the time to pick NP, not that much research behind it, lucky us :)).

Now to the plead for help:
– We’ve just updated from version 4.x to 7.1.1 (yes, it was an odissey)
– After launch most of the stuff is working great and we are very happy with our new website (hey TagDiv, time to refresh our screenshot in your showcase gallery) but we have a couple of problems still that maybe the community and/or TagDiv can comment on:
1 – Mobile translations? – Our site is written mainly in portuguese so we always used the translation mode in the theme panel with no problems. We did it again. Everything looks fine except for… the mobile theme. “Latest Articles”, “About Us” and “Follow us” are translated in the web version but persist in english in the mobile version. Is there a place were we can/should edit this information? Tks
2 – “Invisible” News Ticker – After updating to 7.1.1 and updating Visual Composer and Social Counter accordingly everything looked fine in staging. Yet, after going live, the top news ticker disappeared and is nowere to be found. We’ve removed it and reinserted it several times with no success. We can see it in the homepage builder mode but it stopped showing. The curious part is that we have the staging version running exacly at the same update level (except content) in our servers and it looks fine. Hints?
There are some other minor (so to speak) problems like category exclusion filtering in various homepage components messing up the category atribuition/relations but those are probably either mistakes on our side or bugs to be attended in the future. These two problems are the only main issues between us and a more than great website (and so much faster) for our objectives.

Please try to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it.
Then try to set hit the save button in the theme panel by changing a few options around.

1) You can use this css code to remove the top padding:

2) I’m not sure exactly how you want to separate the search. You can add a few css effects to the icon if you like for example:

3) Optin forms are added with plugins so I;m not sure exactly how you want the form. The details are pretty vague. You already have a full width slider from revolution slider plugin so you only need a form and content below the slider. For this you can use visual composer:

Please ensure that you have fully updated your theme to the latest version and also, all the required plugins has been updated to the latest version of them (Visual Composer 4.11.2 and Social Counter 4.1) only via FTP because this is the surest method for theme updating. Please make sure that this type of problem does not come from your untested plugins and to avoid this case, please try to disable all the plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme. Please check the parameters from your system status to be higher increased in order to achieve the best result. There is nothing more to be purchased as the theme provides visual composer free bundled with the theme. However, if you use the mobile theme plugin, there will be 2 editors in your page edit screen. The one at the top is the mobile editor that does not use visual composer. If you scroll down you will see the visual composer editor present and working.

For youtube you only have to paste the youtube link inside the post content. This is a main wordpress feature. If for some reason this does not work, please disable all your plugins except visual composer, clear cache and purge cdn files if you use it.
Then check the youtube embed again.

Please notice that our theme has very complex one and if it possible that untested plugins to interact with it and might cause a lot of unknown issues, like this. Please avoid this case through ruling out of these plugins and check the results.
Also, if your problem is still there after doing this advice, please try to make a new clean install from scratch with the latest version of it and see how it goes the theme with the default settings.

Thanks, Bogdan. Between turning off Visual Editor in my user settings, switching over the Backend Editor, and scrolling down on the page, I was able to get to work with Visual Composer. Thanks for helping me troubleshoot this!

Please keep in mind that we have no idea what type of code you have. If you want to add your js.code in your header, you will have to edit the header.php core file and place there like this -> http://screencast.com/t/jiiQ1IttD or if you want to add it to your pages, you have two possibilities -> the first one, using the ROW JS element from Visual Composer and secondly you will have to edit the page templates corresponding to your page template used by you. Please notice that we only guide you in the right direction and if you are not aware what you will have to do further, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, sorry!

I’m attempting to make an Image Carousel via composer via post (New Post/Visual Composer/Image Carousel). Newspaper Theme is 7.1.1 and Visual Composer is 4.11.2. I uninstalled and reinstalled via FTP. I disabled all the plug-ins but the Visual Composer, I cleared my caches. I tried 2 different computers and got the same result (just trying to rule out a computer glitch or something as well). I’ve done all that was suggested and still the composer still will not allow me to add images to the Carousel from the Media Library.

We have no reports of problems with visual composer if version 4.11.2 is installed. Please disable all your plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. If you use the mobile theme, check your page back-end again as there are 2 editors now, scroll down a bit to find visual composer as the mobile editor is at the top.
If you still have issues with this and if there is a problem we did not find yet, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can login to inspect this issue. We need to see the error if we are to fix anything.
@sigurbjornsson you seem to have used visual composer from a very early version and created your page with that version. Some elements from VC were removed/marked as deprecated by the plugin author in the latest versions so you will have to re-create these elements. Every homepage style you see on our demo is created in visual composer as a standard page. The url changes in our demo as well: http://screencast.com/t/aeDzlkRQ1
Every page you create will get an url from wordpress whether you use visual composer or not. Our theme does not change this behavior. The url will be hidden if you set your page as a homepage though.
