The logo is a big image so a header style that uses the full logo is the best choice (9, 10 or 11)
The stretched grid does not seem to position properly for the site as the content is stretched. You can use revolution slider to create a full width slider below the menu like in this demo: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_blog_travel/ (the slider is already included in the theme archive under demo sliders) or you can use one of the big grids: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-9/
The rest are simply a selection of block elements on the homepage.

The memory allocated to php seems to be the issue in question but it;s best to adjust all settings so there will not be any future errors.

there could be a plugin conflict. I just copied the code snippet and added it inside a simple text element in the widgets area. Try to disable all plugin except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. then try again.

As i have shown in my previous reply, the event must be added in the post type field here: http://screencast.com/t/4JN17udai but for this to work you need the exact post type name given by the plugin.
You said you use geodirectory, but this does not create an event post type but rather ‘places’. We have not tested this p-lugin so i cannot provide a precise solution to your problem. Here is an example of a custom post type filtered in blocks: http://screencast.com/t/kUTOnBfV5i

Unfortunately the solution that Andrei provided for Newsmag will not work in newspaper as the code is different and it does not allow such modification. Andrei removed a class from the image that was generating the padding. On newspaper, the padding is on the container itself and cannot be removed. as it will break the layout.

The problem with the counter is the cache. it is affected by it and until all caches get cleared, the counter will not be able to pull the required information.

Please first try it without any plugins. Disable all of them except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. This will rule out a plugin conflict.

I have checked your site and images display properly. Disappearing images are caused by plugin conflicts most of the time so this could also be the case on your site. Maybe you removed the conflicting plugin in the meantime.

Unfortunately this is the downside of adding customization to a theme . Code gets changed and a customization that worked in newspaper 6 could not work properly in newspaper 7 if it’s not adapted to the new code.
You can also try to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Some plugins could also not work anymore in newspaper 7 and they could create conflicts.
If you want to roll back to newspaper 6 try it without plugins also for the 500 error as newspaper 6 is fully compatible with wordpress 4.5.2.

The best thing to do in this case is to simply download the l;atest version and install it via ftp. The code was changed in such a way from your version that updating with the patches has the same result as simply updating directly. The pages are not able to render the featured image and also pages cannot display as posts. They are 2 very different things. A post is customized from the post settings by selecting a predefined post template, but pages can be edited in visual composer so you have access to lots of elements that posts cannot display like blocks, big-grids, sliders and all visual composer elements.
