Hi,

The search link is not working, also the more from author link in posts is not working, block pagination, maybe others.
There seems to be a javascript error in the page. That is usually caused by plugins or code entered in the theme panel, theme files or child theme.
I see that all the links are opening inside a new tab, how exactly did you do that? try to temporarily remove the plugin or modification made and return to default. Maybe that is what is causing the links to not function correctly.

Thanks

Hi,

Sorry for that, the multi-purpose plugin is no longer required, however by a mistake it was still provided in the 8.7.5 package. All it’s features and elements are now included in the tagDiv composer plugin, they were merged together.
So all you need to do is activate the tagDiv composer. Sorry for the unintended confusion.

Thanks

Please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and we will provide you the version you want if you did not make a backup of it.

Hi,

You can use ad boxes everywhere you want in the page structure. So you can place ads in the homepage where you want them to appear. If you mean like posts as in a block, that will not be possible.

The ads will be displayed as they are intended to by your ad provider, you can add titles to them however
https://www.screencast.com/t/rBV3V0TceD
Rows can also be stretched to accommodate ads if needed
https://www.screencast.com/t/iBxlUSsSmApC
So you can experiment with ads and layouts until you find the result you are satisfied with.

Hi,

Seems in the Dutch variant the inputs (fields) are included in paragraphs, which will provide a margin bottom
https://www.screencast.com/t/MCwDO2DtKF
But in the English version there are only inputs. I could give you a code to add some margin to them, like this
https://www.screencast.com/t/Ha0Y43bR

Add it in Theme panel->Custom CSS

.mc4wp-form-fields input {
margin-bottom: 21px;
}

Hi,

There are multiple header styles to choose from
https://forum.tagdiv.com/header-styles/
Choose the one you like, if you want to modify something about the header please provide a link to your website. I can provide you with a code to center the menu items but it may not work for you. It is easier to inspect your website before.

Hi,

No need to worry about that, that refers to the fact that if you leave empty columns they will be removed when saving and actually viewing the page, while visible when you edit the page.
Design your page as you wish with the composer, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have questions. We will try to help you.

Hi,

There are currently some issues with the Twitter counter, it will not count anymore. We provide an updated social counter plugin. Deactivate the one you currently use and install this one
https://www.filedropper.com/showdownload.php/td-social-counter_1
Then twitter should display accurate information again

Hi,

No need for additional information to configure Facebook, since theme version 8.7.4
https://www.screencast.com/t/pMvQqgS5eXPB
Now only the ID has to be entered
https://www.screencast.com/t/Sie1ueXB1
So please update the theme and theme plugins to the latest version and there should be no problem with Facebook. Twitter also stopped working, we provided a new social counter plugin to fix it, until a new theme update is released. This is the plugin
https://www.filedropper.com/showdownload.php/td-social-counter_1
That should get Twitter working again
https://www.screencast.com/t/TZMllLRir6uQ

Here is an update guide that you can follow

Hi,

Seems secure now from what I can see – https://www.screencast.com/t/elcDnJ94Ljp

Similar issues were caused by images called in various theme panel sections, like the background section

I just realized this, that is a drop down menu. Why not simply rearrange the sub-menu items and place them in the order you want
https://www.screencast.com/t/uj4niET3oKuv

I thought you were referring to the category tags displayed in the category page, sorry for misunderstanding.

Hi,

@tadejm
I tried with an author role user, the post settings are displayed
https://www.screencast.com/t/ezRKBeVWsk5i
Maybe they are disabled in the screen options for you
https://www.screencast.com/t/PQc6LCCf0
Or maybe a plugin has been used to customize the default roles. Check that as well.

Thanks

Hi,

1. In some cases 500 errors were produced by insufficient resources, mainly WP memory. Increasing the limit fixed the errors.

2. Your ID works for me, with the same plugin used
https://www.screencast.com/t/1x2qe9o5
Try clearing the cache plugin you have installed and also purge CDN cache if used.

3. That is the latest articles page template
https://www.screencast.com/t/wXoH35F5uI5
The section of posts it displays at the bottom of the page has only numbered pagination. You could select a different page template for the page, then add at the bottom a block of your choosing. Blocks have infinite loading pagination
https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/

4. The mobile theme may not work as intended or at all with the caching plugin you use. Caching plugins are the number one cause for mobile theme problems. We recommend the super cache which works properly with the mobile plugin. The mobile plugin is optional however.

6. The footer template you use has it’s own predefined widgets
https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
So your widgets will be displayed below them. Use empty footer templates to display only your desired widgets.

Hi,

This – http://take.ms/W65dt can be deactivated in the theme panel, post sharing settings
https://www.screencast.com/t/i3CplSUC9

This – http://take.ms/igO42 is not part of the theme. From what I can see it may be added by the super socializer plugin you have installed. Please check it’s settings.

Hi,

Meta’s can be entered in the theme header file if you would like to try that, between the head tags
https://www.screencast.com/t/6o06m6du
I vaguely remember other users who lost the likes after changing the website URL, they were unsuccessful. Maybe you can follow that guide and achieve it. Or maybe something like this

Hi,

It seems that only the header is displayed, the rest is empty. Please check the theme requirements here
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Re-install the latest version of the theme (8.7.5) by FTP, it is the most reliable method
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Update the theme plugins manually if needed, the composer should update automatically but sometimes it fails
https://www.screencast.com/t/N2UOiiKkdBDA
Let us know the results.

Thanks

Hi,

That is possible. Simply hide the respective element for the devices you want. Example to hide a block on desktop

Hi,

For such an old version you most likely used Visual composer. Please deactivate the tagDiv composer after you update, this will be activated automatically when the theme is updated or installed (since it’s introduction in 8.0).
When both are active there could be layout problems.

Also it is important to check the available resources in the system status panel
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/

Update by FTP, this is the most reliable method
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
If you have code in the theme panel, or you use a child theme, deactivate them because the code could be outdated. After the update do not make any modifications to the theme files. Clear caching, clear CDN if used, clear your browser cache as well.

You can use the manual activation if asked again

Hi,

@christiancruzc
I found some guides you can follow and try to locate it
http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/why-you-cant-find-htaccess-file-on-your-wordpress-site/
https://www.shoutmeloud.com/how-to-edit-your-wordpress-htaccess-file.html
https://www.greengeeks.com/tutorials/article/tips-on-finding-your-wordpress-htaccess-file/
If you are having problems finding it or creating it, it would be better to contact your hosting provider for assistance.

A plugin to manage ads would be easier then modifying code in the theme files, modifications which will probably be lost if you update the theme. You could give that plugin a try.

In a coming update there will be changes to how the post templates are created. So you will be able to control the ads that display on posts better. For example you can create a post template and use that for posts where you don’t want to display ads. And another one for the posts you want to display ads.
There shouldn’t be long now before the update will be released, with these new features.

Hi,

You could edit the header template used, these are the files
https://www.screencast.com/t/R3pd02n6rxm9
Try inserting your button code there and see how it looks. You may need to create additional design for it, for positioning maybe.

Or maybe create a custom link in the top menu, with an icon
https://www.screencast.com/t/CjmmYSTkwlYs
https://www.screencast.com/t/i1QKnfJG

Or maybe use a multi-purpose header style which can display buttons, and add the icon with CSS
https://www.screencast.com/t/yE6Hk7e6sVO

Thanks

As long as that category has posts in it, they will be displayed according to the sorting used. If the category has no posts in it, the the grid will be empty (invisible).
Maybe you could do this by manipulating the posts categories. Through code I don’t know how exactly that would be possible.

Hi,

Yes there is, you can place an offset in the block with a value of 1
https://forum.tagdiv.com/offset-feature/
Then the first post will be skipped, it will start from the second.

Hi,

@avinashiitd
If anything the theme and theme plugins are more optimized in the latest theme version, than previous versions. Please check the theme changelog (bottom of the page) to see what changes and fixes have been made from 8.7.2 to 8.7.5
https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609
Also in terms of GDPR, the 8.7.5 version is compliant.

So you should consider updating to the latest version
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
If that error is still displayed despite the theme system status set correctly, you could also contact your hosting and mention it to them. Maybe there still is a limitation somewhere.

Thanks
