Hi Andrei – the CSS code works like a charm, in order to align the date with the headline.

However, it seems that instead of moving the margin of the “date” element 5px to the left (as the CSS code did), it should instead be the “headline” element that should be moved 5px to the right (so that both date and headline aligns with the footer widget name “Nye indlæg”).

Is that possible? I tried to inspect the headline element in the footer, but could only see the following HTML code for the headline

If possible, the margin of this element should be moved 5 px to the right

Is it possible to move this HTML code 5 px to the right – that would solve it :-)?

The page I have taken the above example from is: this page

Thank you for the help so far!

Hi @DaneOLeary

Try to deactivate all plugins, leave just Visual Composer and Jetpack plugin with Subscriptions module active, clear all caches and check if the problem is still there. If the problem persist try to use a different plugin from subscriptions, for example mailchimp: https://wordpress.org/plugins/mailchimp-for-wp/

Thanks!

Hello,
The code I provided does not work for you. It is just an example. You need to identify your own page id’s and replace them in the code. We prefer to use css for modifications that can be made through css as the php code will be replaced when updating the theme. The css stays in the theme panel and does not get affected by updates.
Thank you!

Hi,

I am running the theme in a sandbox on WP Engine. I frequently use the quotes feature when citing other news sources. I noticed the Newspaper theme’s quote feature causes the quotes to center justify and enlarge the font substantially. I would like to be able to modify this to be smaller and left justify similar to the standard quote feature on WordPress blogs. How can I do this? Here is an example of the sandbox theme article and the same article on my existing site.

For example, the “i”

In Turkish, “güzellik” well capitalized the word “GÜZELLİK” should be written in the form of “GÜZELLIK” as written.

I was under the impression that site users would be able to review and rate the products with this theme. I have found out how to rate a product, but would like for users of the products to be able to submit and rate the products themselves. Is this possible with this theme?

Also, I am trying to figure out how to add a text box under a video post on a page (please see the following link – https://rehabreviews.com/rehab-reviews/top-ten-rehabs/) – here there is a #1 with the name of the Rehab Listing, plus there is a comments box over in the right side of the box. Blow this there is a author, date and keywords. How can I implement this into my post/pages?

Thanks for any help that can be offered.

Hey Chris,

Thank you for your answer, I already use the Yoast XML sitemap, and the timestamp of that article is correct. The strange thing is that this doesn’t happen with all my articles, just with some of them.

You should be using a Google sitemap which should show the proper timestamp and last updated time. You can look at your XML sitemap to see if the correct values are there.

Also note, if referring to Google / Google News, sometimes they have the timestamp off if the GMT/EST specifier is wrong, or the “local PHP time” is offset on your local domain.

Usually a simple php script to echo current time can help determine if your php local time on domain is actually correct and not offset from “real time” — meaning we had this issue once where server time was 9am EST, WordPress time was 9am EST but actual local php time was 8am PST.

Might not help, just food for thought 🙂

Hi, some of my articles are being indexed by Google with different timestamp.

For example, in this screenshot http://www.screencast.com/t/SrKHgCXPK, the first article from the results was published like 19 hours ago, but in the Google search appears like it was published 2 days ago, and in this way was indexed from the first hour after being published. Instead of showing “one hour ago”, it showed “two days ago”.

I already asked the host, and they told me that the hour of the server is fine, also in WordPress I have the correct dates, but someone suggested me in the Google forums that my hentry schema is missing the (optional) “published” property [http://microformats.org/wiki/hentry], so Google tries to understand the correct date by looking at the post content. Just wanted to know if this can be the problem and if there is a solution for it, because it happens with 10% of my articles.

Have a great day and happy holidays! 🙂

Hi

The theme doesn’t have a shortcode for the Review section. If you want to move this sections you need to edit the file corresponding with the post template used for that post and move this line where you want to display the review: http://screencast.com/t/qIK386Fegy Please note that you can move the review only outside the post content part, the one written in WordPress editor. To place the review in the middle of a post for example, you will need custom modification in theme’s core files because the post content (part written in post editor) is added with this a WordPress function: get_the_content(). You will need a similar code with the one for article inline ads, which allow you to specify the paragraph after which the ad will be inserted.
This is a complex task and I can’t provide a solution now. If you need this and you’re not aware of the steps you need to take in this regard please consider hiring a developer or a freelancer to do this for you as we can’t offer custom services for the moment.

Hello zetam1320,

This happens due of the header style used. If you want to have the full size, please try to use another header style that will use a full logo size, as example -> Style 10.

Hope this helps!

Hi,

Try to enable the date on the articles – from Theme Panel -> Post Settings – http://screencast.com/t/Q6sNbyb3UoQ then the updated parameter should appear and after a while the webmaster errors should also disappear. You can check it using the live data testing tool: http://screencast.com/t/ATHGoopSTpA – https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/ here is an example: http://screencast.com/t/9I6AYn7Vb

Once that updated attribute appears your issues should be fixed.

If you don’t want the date to appear you can hide it and the author using custom css: – http://screencast.com/t/j7NsXGsW

.td-module-meta-info .td-post-date {
display: none;
}

Hope this helps!

Thanks!

Hello rwilson,

Unfortunately, the file ads.php is not available to be edited from Dashboard. You have to set it in another editor, as example Notepad Plus and update via FTP to your database. First of all, please do a backup to your database for greater safety. http://screencast.com/t/clN9dB2U

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hello maxmynorm,

To achieve a similar pagination you will need lots of customizations in theme’s core files and I can’t provide a quick solution now. You can use this example to customize the pagination on posts by adding this parameter: ‘next_or_number’ => ‘next’, here: http://screencast.com/t/hkqJljKyxr3 (remove this code if you want: http://screencast.com/t/87kGUcin5YQN – result: http://screencast.com/t/8THEIGR5) If you do not remove of this, will have this pagination -> Previous page 1,2,3,4,5 Next page

After this changes, it is neccesary to do some customization, like this: http://screencast.com/t/gfJn7ZEt

If you want a different implementation for pagination and you’re not aware of the steps you need to take in this regard please consider hiring a developer or a freelancer from sites like: http://studio.envato.com/ to do this for you.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hi.

I’m missing some of the text in some of my posts.

Take this as an example:

http://macweb.dk/vlc-kan-afspille-naesten-alle-filformater/

The original text in the first part is:

Mange har efterspurgt et program, som kan tage lidt flere formater end iTunes til Mac. iTunes er ikke kompatibelt med særlig mange film formater. Derfor skal man sidde og konvetere alle sine film, for at iTunes kan afspille dem.

But the start is missing, and shows only this:
kan tage lidt flere formater end iTunes til Mac. iTunes er ikke kompatibelt med særlig mange film formater. Derfor skal man sidde og konvetere alle sine film, for at iTunes kan afspille dem.

My custom CSS is:

@media
(max-width: 767px) { .td-header-wrap .td-header-menu-wrap-full, .td-header-wrap .td-header-menu-wrap, .td-header-wrap .td-header-main-menu { background-color: #fff!important; } #td-top-mobile-toggle i { color: #222 !important; } .header-search-wrap #td-header-search-button .td-icon-search { color: #222!important; } }

@media
(max-width: 767px) { .home .wpb_revslider_element .forcefullwidth_wrapper_tp_banner { margin-top: 0 !important; } }

.td-post-template-1 .td-featured-image-rec { height: 280px; }

@media
(max-width: 767px) { .td-post-template-1 .td-featured-image-rec { height: auto !important; } }

I’ll be looking forward to hear from you 🙂

Hello harryst,

Please ensure you have followed the correct steps to add the slide and also, please make sure you have filtered this slide by existing category with posts in your site. An example -> http://screencast.com/t/QhsQrGEflZl
I’ve tested on my side and everything seems to work properly. Please ensure that you do not have plugins in conflict. After this advice, if your slide still does not work, please try to disable all the active plugins, except Visual Composer, clear all caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and try it again and rule out the conflict plugins.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hello Bernd,

It can be done with custom css but i do not know what header style you use. This is an example for header style 1
.sf-menu .td-icon-menu-down{
top:80%!important;
margin-left:-16px!important
}

Result: http://screencast.com/t/JfPCOJrTqd

Thanks you!

Hi there,

This theme is great – thank you! Loving working with it.

One current issue is that when I add paragraphs in Visual Composer Text Modules, then I save – it’s OK. Then I go back and edit one of the modules, then all the paragraph spaces in the other text modules on the same page are stripped out.

Here’s an example where all is how I want it,

http://prntscr.com/9jq4oy

then here’s what happend to the text after I edit one of the text modules:

http://prntscr.com/9jq4y5

The url is at http://www.waihekegulfnews.co.nz/wp/

It’s a new work in progress. Please can you help make the paragraph spaces stay after editing.

Thanks.

Hope this will explain. I’m inserting a row element from the visual composer in all the posts using ad inserter plugin. The code is given here
[vc_row equal_height="yes" content_placement="middle"][vc_column width="1/2"][td_block_ad_box spot_id="custom_ad_3" spot_title="Advertisement"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2" offset="vc_hidden-xs"][vc_wp_posts number="4"][/vc_column][/vc_row]

It shows the result like this

How to add the custom CSS to this particular row that occurs in all the posts. For example how to set the margins for this row. I tried the code given below but this did not show any changes.

[vc_row equal_height="yes" content_placement="middle" css=".vc_custom_1451362361094{margin-top: 15px !important;margin-bottom: 15px !important;}"][vc_column width="1/2"][td_block_ad_box spot_id="custom_ad_3" spot_title="Advertisement"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2" offset="vc_hidden-xs"][vc_wp_posts number="4"][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Thank you for the reply.

Hi Catalin – thanks for the quick reply.

The example shown on the screencast link you gave looks the same as the buttons I already have.

What I’m really after is something like the posts on this example – http://yourlifemax.com/featured/top-7-xmas-costumes-for-your-pooch/2/

Is this something you can help with?

ok, this did hide category tag that i wanted, but instead of totally hiding it, can there be other (secondary) category tag listed? Same as we do it when pickin primary category in posts?

For example: if one post had three categories: SlideNews, Sport and Basketball, and i dont want to show “SlideNews” ever beside my titles on blocks, but i want Sport and Basketball instead of it

when creating an article I have to tick the boxes of the categories I want it to appear in. What is the ideal thing to do? tick the closest subcategory or the whole ramification? for example if I do an article about madrid and that’s in Spain category , which is in Europe, and Europe is in destinations. Should I tick the three of them or only Madrid?

Hello Larshell,

Unfortunately, it is not a simple task to achieve what you want. Each of blocks are using a different thumb with a specific size and WordPress will crop the image top center.

In order to identify the ideal/average size, you need to figure out which is the largest container that will display that particular image and upload an image bigger than that container. Then there is the post template to consider. If you use post templates with big image backgrounds (style 6, 7 or 8), then your uploaded image has to be bigger (especially on style 8). You need to assess your website’s layout (posts and block elements) and come up with an average image size that will work on smaller containers but also keep good quality on bigger ones.
You can read more about thumbs and featured images here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-vs-featured-image-size/

The theme uses thumbs to reduce the page size and speed up page loading time. From each image uploaded are generated thumbs for each thumb size used by the theme. Basically, when a post it’s displayed on the page in a block, the featured image displayed is not the one which you uploaded in the media file, it’s a thumb cropped from the original image at the precise dimension. To change the picture orientation most likely you will need a different cropping system. We use a WordPress function – add_image_size() – you can read about it here – https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/add_image_size – and here – http://www.davidtan.org/wordpress-hard-crop-vs-soft-crop-difference-comparison-example/

To display more levels you need custom modifications and I suggest to hire a freelancer to do this for you as we cannot provide custom work at this time, sorry!

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
