You can customize Big Grid 8 using custom css. I guess that you are referring to style 2 or 3(or any style) you need to inspect using browser’s inspector tool and target the classes where the background gradient is applied and change it for example – http://screencast.com/t/DqJZ8rz0
If you don’t have basic css experience I suggest to get someone to help you as we cannot provide custom work at this time, sorry!

To answer your last question, yes there is a way to disable the built-in lightbox. Turn it off for each image in posts and for featured images from the settings panel.

This presumes you have the desktop/mobile “enabled” vs “disabled” in your theme panel where you have pasted in the complete adsense code snippet?
I’m using header 8 and mine work perfectly across multiple sites even with stuff like mod_pagespeed doing on the fly page rewrites to remove spaces and comments.
Do you have example of the adsense code you’re pasting in to the adsense ad box ?

I was looking for a way to avoid repeating the same items in the sidebar to the categories.
The same thing as the ‘unique articles’ option of pages… how can I have it for the categories?
The problem exists, for example, if I put the last articles in the sidebar. The same ones appear in the top of the grid category home…

As you can see in my site http://www.modagrafya.com, there is too much space between elements and block. For example, the spacing between the header menu and the site content is too wide in my opinion. Also the space between the sidebar and the main content is too wide. How can I decrease the space?

Not sure why you have this issue as I have checked you site and did not found any issue in the console. Please disable all your plugins except of Visual Composer and make sure that you change the fonts for the right module. I also tested this and did not found any issues, for example block 15 you have to change the fonts for article title for module mx4 – http://screencast.com/t/jek7zmwcd – http://screencast.com/t/eUOURMq0d

TagDiv Team, i love Newspaper template but since last update i f**#%&$%* newspaper theme 🙂
Title structure its broken in entire site, and something like that can damage very seriusly in Google search results. Obviusly i go back to 6.1 when i notice this problem.
Inmediatly before update to 6.2 my sitemap was sended to google (because i use yoast seo like every wordpress user) the problem is, in my site i work only whit organic traffic and now i have over 7900 internal pages whit wrong title INDEXED in GOOGLE!!!!
I Mean, each user of newspaper 6.2 just f**k your own site ahead of google 😛 and i am very worried about how it will affect my website ranking in the coming days for changing the structure.
I suggest to remove 6.2 update as soon as possible to prevent breaking the customers sites. Many Newspaper users make money with google adsense but a SEO mistake like this will make us earn less money 🙁 and it is not something easy to fix
Okay, I have no idea what is going on. restarted my computer and then change a few things in theme panel and now the changes are reflected but then I go back into Theme Panel and try to change a few more things and …. right back to not reflecting any changes. I didn’t have this issue before on the previous install but now it is really starting to hamper progress on the website :/ Is tagDiv doing some sort of update work on the theme or something, I don’t get it.

I liked the theme Newspaper but it’s still too wide for my tastes, I like narrower themes better I mean I want a smaller look for the theme which fits into the screen better.
I mean if the computer screen is 1280px wide for example a 960px wide theme is better than a say a 1200px wide theme for me, how can I change the theme’s main width?
Wordpress seems to put priority to Tags by alphabetical order… which is causing conflict/confusion when thumbs are displayed. One category shows a primary tag, the other category shows a secondary tag.

I’m using Newspaper 6.1.
I’ve installed the theme on my website and want to use the Homepage – Newspaper look.
I’ve gone to Homepage and added the Homepage -Newspaper template.
However when I look at my homepage it is not displaying correctly. The Big Grid Slide is not there nor are all the elements of the theme such as the blocks. It just displays a list of posts and the default sidebar boxes.
However when I install the demo and select the Homepage – Newspaper template, it looks perfect. I have tried to emulate all the settings but it doesn’t work. I’m wondering If I have not applied the theme properly to the Homepage but it looks okay to me.When I try and install the demo without the content it doesn’t work. And there seems to be no signs that there is anything different.
Why is the template not being applied properly to my homepage?
If I install the demo with the sample content, how do I make the Newspaper theme the default for my homepage and remove the other pages so it is safe to use?

Just updated to the 6.2 version from 6.1 and now at every page the theme first loads the theme defaults when it comes to colors and fonts, these stay loaded for about a secound or two and them my own changes to colors and fonts is applied.
This makes the whole page “jump” and change fonts and colors from the default ones to my custom ones. No custom CSS changes made for fonts or colors other than links. Used the built in accent color.
Please refer to my page so see the issue (also try one of the articles to see the fonts change). This was NOT an issue with the 6.1 version, so something must have changed to cause this. Looks extremely tacky :-/

Hi,
I added a Text/html widget to the Newspaper default sidebar where I integrated the Q&A Toggle element code (see below). This sidebar ist working fine on the front page as well as other static pages. The Toggle element is NOT working on post pages as well as the author page.
Any Ideas how to solve that problem?

hello there …
i have seen, that some of the selectable post styles are having quite dark header elements. For example the video style 11. And some other styles, which are using a dark-grey overlay over the article header-image.
There are two reasons, why i would like to change this design-behaviour:
1: I am using the light colored version of the theme. So all colors are very light and friendly. While choosing post style 11 (which is nice because of the additional adspace) the completely header section (the video section) looks like a dark styled theme. This not very cool and looks strange for my site. As it’s a parenting, family and baby related site. All colors should be light and friendly.
2: If I would choose (for example) post style number 3, I am getting a dark grey overlay over my header image. Again, I have chosen a light colored version of the theme. The thing is, that I adjusted all theme related colors to fit my needs (of course). So what I would see, when choosing post style number three, is a dark grey article-title above a dark grey image overlay. This does not look really nice …
The same problem appears with all other post styles (also with number 11). There are dark grey article-titles above a dark drey background…
So I either would need a solution for having automatically change the title colors for these post styles, when selected, or need the chance of choosing a lighter background for these post styles, to fit the rest of my layout.
I think this is a very complex need. But I think that I may not be the only one, who would be more than happy to have a hardcoded solution for this…
