Hi,

Thanks TheMediumUTM!

@craigmc

More exactly you could use this custom css to change the font family/size/color/weight.. and so on for all modules: http://screencast.com/t/dglLLI7O2JM

.td_mod_wrap .meta-info {
font-family: 'Sacramento', sans-serif;
color: #E62222;
font-size: 20px;
font-weight: bold;
}

Thanks

How do I know what font I am using ?

I found the code. What to do here, to remove the fonts I don’t use ?

Your code @Steven
This one

if ( isset($_SERVER['HTTP_X_FORWARDED_PROTO']) && $_SERVER['HTTP_X_FORWARDED_PROTO'] == 'https' )
$_SERVER['HTTPS']='on';

Check again, fixed the mixed content warning 🙂
Now I just need to change the image urls in posts!

Steven

Put this in ur wp-config file on the top after php..

Your server is behind a load balancer or reverse proxy.

Please add the following code to your wp-config.php file, above the require_once:

if (isset($_SERVER[‘HTTP_X_FORWARDED_PROTO’]) && $_SERVER[‘HTTP_X_FORWARDED_PROTO’] == ‘https’)
$_SERVER[‘HTTPS’]=’on’;

and try again,i’m using this code because i’m on CF servers and before that code i had the same problem as you with all the loops to i was lock out of my site..had to go in cpanel and change my urls back to even have access back to my site..

If this don’t work for u then i really don’t know what else too tell you,to set up the SSL with CF is very easy on your end…

Because CloudFlare is a proxy i had to add this too my “wp-config” to fix the Non-SSL Elements i was getting..i guess now mine working you can test for me..

https://jahliveradio.com

if (isset($_SERVER[‘HTTP_X_FORWARDED_PROTO’]) && $_SERVER[‘HTTP_X_FORWARDED_PROTO’] == ‘https’)
$_SERVER[‘HTTPS’]=’on’;

Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content

Your page has 6 blocking CSS resources. This causes a delay in rendering your page.
None of the above-the-fold content on your page could be rendered without waiting for the following resources to load. Try to defer or asynchronously load blocking resources, or inline the critical portions of those resources directly in the HTML.
Optimize CSS Delivery of the following:
http://fonts.googleapis.com/…-ext,greek,vietnamese,latin-ext,cyrillic
http://fonts.googleapis.com/…c-ext,greek-ext,greek,latin-ext,cyrillic
http://fonts.googleapis.com/…et=latin,cyrillic-ext,latin-ext,cyrillic
http://fonts.googleapis.com/…swald:400,300,700&subset=latin,latin-ext
http://fonts.googleapis.com/…-ext,greek,vietnamese,latin-ext,cyrillic
http://fonts.googleapis.com/…ily=Vollkorn:400italic,700italic,400,700

How To fix this ?

Hi Marius,

Is it possible to exclude certain posts from search? For example using Custom Fields? I can add specific Custom Field to posts that I don’t want to find in search results. Is it possible and what would be the correct code for that?

simchris

Did you try starting your ul inside of a new div
or try putting a &amp;nbsp; between your sub head and the first <ul><li>

e.g.,

<h3>My Sub Head</h3>
&amp;nbsp;
<ul>
<li>text</li>
<li>text</li>
</ul>

or

<div>
<ul>
<li>text</li>
<li>text</li>
</ul>
</div>

Hello,

the via and source functions are not custom fields, right? For example: If I ever plan to switch a theme, is there a way I can obtain this data so thousands of links won’t be lost?

Thank you!

I apologize, some of my issue have been resolved. We had CloudFlare minimized Javascript enabled, which we have since disabled. This fixed our #1&amp;2 issues, but issue #3 has not been resolved with this. Any suggestions would be great.

3. If you are going to do that, use a tool like this: https://interconnectit.com/products/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/ Simply replacing it via a simple query can break serialized arrays.

If you have any links that aren’t local, this will also break them, as I’m sure you’re aware. A link to a Microsoft press release, for example. You can avoid that result by excluding the wp_posts table or even the content column (I forget its exact name) in that tool. I think that’s where you’d probably have most such links.

Template files would not be affected by a db query.

In future, I would try to make as many internal links as you can relative, i.e. instead of “http://styzic.com/my/page&#8221;, just “/my/page”. Makes things like this much easier. But some of the settings Chris mentioned obviously can’t be relative.

The class you want is .meta-info. Target more specifically using .home, .post, .category, etc, or within .td_block-wrap or .td_mod_wrap, and so forth.

hello..my question is because in Google results my url show de url of my website and the category, but my permalink structure is mywebsite.com/sample-post
why this happened???

I have the same problem. When I click over the author name it redirects to the home page.
The problem seems to be the plugin SEO by Yoast since when desactivated the author page works properly.
I’m still in localhost so I can not send you an example for you to check.
Has anyone solved this problem?

Thanks

Hi,

This happens because you use the speed booster plugin and in this case you need to add this code &amp;subset=latin,latin-ext in functions.php file like this: http://screencast.com/t/fYpXpNOp

Thanks

Hello,

I have another question. Is it possible through custom CSS to add a background image to a page?

For example: http://www.balbro.se/musik/
Where the orange is we would to be able to add an image.
I have tried to figure it out myself but I can´t seem to get it to work.

Thanks!

You can still use CloudFlare just don’t use there “CDN service” but there is a lot more nice features that come with them,this week they giving FREE SSL Certificate to every one site that use they service..

The team at CloudFlare is excited to announce the release of Universal SSL™. Beginning today, we will support SSL connections to every CloudFlare customer, including the 2 million sites that have signed up for the free version of our service.

For all customers, we will now automatically provision a SSL certificate on CloudFlare’s network that will accept HTTPS connections for a customer’s domain and subdomains. Those certificates include an entry for the root domain (e.g., example.com) as well as a wildcard entry for all first-level subdomains (e.g., http://www.example.com, blog.example.com, etc.).

For a site that did not have SSL before, we will default to our Flexible SSL mode, which means traffic from browsers to CloudFlare will be encrypted, but traffic from CloudFlare to a site’s origin server will not. We strongly recommend site owners install a certificate on their web servers so we can encrypt traffic to the origin.

Later today we’ll be publishing a blog with instructions on how to do that at no cost. Once you’ve installed a certificate on your web server, you can enable the Full or Strict SSL modes which encrypt origin traffic and provide a higher level of security.

Thanks for the tips.

I will see if I can deactivate ‘JM Twitter Cards’ and use the SEO plugin for Twitter cards. There must of been a reason why i wanted another plugin, but can’t remember. I’m sure i’ll find out soon 🙂

I’m now going to try ‘All In One WP Security &amp; Firewall’ and see if that helps.

Which functions.php do i edit? The WP core or the themes?

EDIT: I can’t unfortunately use CloudFlare as i’m using a different CDN service.

Steven
tagDiv Member

You don’t need this also “JM Twitter Cards” the WordPress SEO already have that feature build in to they plugin..

The “Wordfence Security” is a very good plugin but if your using there “Live Traffic” feature then you going run in problems on your server end because it make ur CPU very high and use a lot of memory..i had to remove mine from my site and went with a more lightweight plugin call “All In One WP Security &amp; Firewall”

Query Strings Remover you don’t need a plugin for that just add this code to the bottom of ur “functions.php”..

function remove_cssjs_ver( $src ) {
if( strpos( $src, ‘?ver=’ ) )
$src = remove_query_arg( ‘ver’, $src );
return $src;
}
add_filter( ‘style_loader_src’, ‘remove_cssjs_ver’, 10, 2 );
add_filter( ‘script_loader_src’, ‘remove_cssjs_ver’, 10, 2 );

Akismet you can removed if you use clouldflare because they protect you from comment spam in one those settings..

Hi,

You have to move this line, like this: http://screencast.com/t/nZghZzJaA
Result: http://screencast.com/t/wWHLiZWOQq2d
Note that this example is for the default post template, if you want to change this on other templates also you will have to make this changes on other templates also.

Thanks

simchris

Okay. Well, if you can’t show the code you’re having an issue with hard to help. And image class is just normal CSS .. one can call a CSS class anything and has no impact on Google News or anything else. You can call a CSS class class=”dumbbunnyshoes” and it works just fine.

If you need to, you would have to change the CSS in both the style sheet and all templates that call the CSS class, which is not normal and nobody else is having this issue in Google news that I am aware of (including my own sites).

An example of the actual code (view source from your page, copy/paste, then apply ‘code’ style in this forum thread) to SHOW what code you’re referring to.

Or, wait for Lucian or Marius to try to figure out what you’re doing. I need to see an example of the code on YOUR post page where you’re having this problem code to offer any guidance. Will check back tomorrow.

Gee95

Hello Christopher,

For my images i have a SSL CDN for all my content including pictures, so size should’t matter too much but i still optimise my images, just in case.

I have WordPress register turned off, and have no forums on my website. The only accounts on my WordPress website are for editors only.

Your sitemap example is very interesting, so i’ll have to look into this and see if i have multiple plugins doing the same thing.

Thanks for the tips, i will check out the compatibility of my plugins and deactivate the ones that have large load times (listed above in previous post on this topic).

Hi folks,

I can’t see where to change the fonts for the product pages.

I’m using Woocommerce.

I’m trying to make all headings Titillium Web & body Open Sans but the product pages remain with the default theme font.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Play around by adding different logos to the Retina section. For example – assign on logo for 1x and a completely different logo to 2x (retina). Then view your site on mobile, and see which logo appears. You can then know what to put where.
