Hi,

From what I can see you use an older version of the theme, and the old AMP plugin which is now discontinued (not provided anymore). Pages can be compatible with AMP, but only if they are built with the simple WordPress editor – http://prntscr.com/nsnpmo and not with the composer.

After the theme update 9.6 there is a new solution for AMPhttp://prntscr.com/nsnq80
The official AMP plugin can be used together with the mobile theme plugin, there is a guide here
https://tagdiv.com/amp-newspaper-theme/
When the mobile theme is enabled, you will have to create 2 versions for each page. One for desktop with the composer, and one for mobile with the simple mobile editor (can’t be built with the composer)
https://tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-automatic-optimization-for-mobile-newspaper-theme/

The mobile version of pages will be compatible with AMP, regardless of how it is built for desktop.

You can see how the mobile theme looks and works in this demo website, with a mobile phone or browser mobile emulator – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_local_news/
The AMP version will look the same.

Thanks

Hello
I have created a custom post type (example: program) and a custom taxonomy (example: type_program). Can I filter both in blocks or grids? What can you recommend?

Best regards

After struggling for more than 12 hours with NO Support I have managed to fix some issues by myself. Now the next big challenge is ANALYTICS, I have done what’s explained on the tutorial but the reporting isn’t happening!

Hi Calin

1 – Yes, we would like to move to TD Composer, therefore not using WPB. It was just for curiosity

2- I think you are right. I first created a page, named it. saved it. Got back to pages. Directly clicked on edith with td composer and there’s no fault, and page loads. This is really annoying because I’ve been going through the forum whole day long trying to find a solution.

3- Calin; we really need some guide moving to TD composer. Do we have to recreate every single page once again?

4- For example, when we did a clean wordpress installation, we can go full width design. as in the image.https://pasteboard.co/Ig2Yab5.png
However with an existing web site and clean page creation we cant achive this as in the image https://pasteboard.co/Ig2YsOg.png

Where to find those options with for an existing site.

Before the update I was able to show the modified date on certain templates. For example, on single_template_7.php I added this file to my child theme and modified it with the-modified-date.

Is there a way to still do this, either to a particular template or to all the posts.

Am I correct in thinking that if I activate mobile plugin and choose AMP ONLY in theme panel – then the mobile theme is only shown to AMP search results?

I tried this and on my mobile version it held the normal ( not AMP ) theme, which I need becuase of ads I sold on it

But I checked the next day and posts published since the change in search results were not AMP

How can I fix? Or is this not correct?

Thanks

today I noticed that every time I upload an image to the site, wordpress creates 11 versions.
The only active thumbail are 80×60, 218×150, 324×160, 0x420.

For example, I uploaded an image and wordpress created 11 of them with images of this size: 768×566, 300×300, 570×420 … why? How can I stop this problem?

Hi,

Posts can be displayed in pages using blocks and grids mostly. There are many types of blocks and grids that you can use, such as the predefined types
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-1/
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/full-big-grid-1/
Use the top switcher to see them all – http://prntscr.com/nsbeya

And the flex types – http://prntscr.com/nsbbezhttps://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/flex-block/

Flex blocks and grids have many customization options opposed to predefined blocks. These are some examples created by us – https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Blocks each one can be imported through the cloud library plugin provided with the theme
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/
But you can design your own flex blocks as well.

Each block and grid has filtering and sorting options, useful when you want to choose which posts appear and where – https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/

So you can create pages and edit them with the tagDiv composer, place the elements you want in them to display your posts, configured as needed
https://tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-page-builder-basics/

One of the pages you create can be set as homepage – https://forum.tagdiv.com/homepage-how-to-build-and-set-it/

If you have more questions, let me know.
Thanks

Hi,

Please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict, please deactivate all non theme plugins, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, please deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.

While it does allow styling the document using custom CSS, it does not allow author written JavaScript beyond what is provided through the custom elements to reach its performance goals.‘

Please check the AMP HTML Specification
-> https://www.ampproject.org/docs/fundamentals/spec#html-tags
Also please check a similar topic -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/custom-javascript-is-not-allowed/
-> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/a-mandatory-amp-html-tag-is-missing-from-this-document/

Also after you manage the javascript, please access your permalinks section of WordPress and press the save button again for the permalinks. you do not have to change the structure. Just save gain. This fixed the amp error for most users.

Thank you!

https://forum.tagdiv.com/background-ads/

Hello,

I want to know if it’s possible to put another background ad on the other side, for example, ad 1 in left, and ad 2 in right.

Thank you

Hi Simion,
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction here. I was able to make the change now in the core plugin. A pity there is no real way to add into a child theme to protect against updates moving forward but I have made note of this now. Changing the top category grid layout to just allowed featured tags is the key for us as we have sponsored posts in our newspaper layout so we must continue to be able to alter this area. I am not sure if there are any plans to have an option in the theme options to be able to associated a tag for each category called featured_category name for example and then those featured posts stay in that area – who knows:)

At least now we have it all setup again the way we need it. Appreciate the time.

Thanks you.

Hello,
After upgrading to 9.7.2 we faced with multiple problems.
So far, we have used the possibility of modifying the existing templates (Style 1, 2…) that we used in the Child theme. And that worked fine. Now for custom templates we need to use the Cloud Library plugin.
Its very good solution. But now we have 4000+ posts to set up to use a new template – made in the Cloud Library plugin. Is there a way to change the templates via the MySql database in phpMyAdmin? For example: All posts that are using Post template: Style 3 to change to use New template that we make with Cloud Library plugin….

Thanks

Hi,

I’ve got the mobile theme and AMP plugins as suggested activated and the resulting page has a lot of AMP validation errors:
https://dev.thewhoot.com/whoot-news/recipes/tim-tam-cheesecake-recipe-no-bake/?amp

What’s the correct process for producing an AMP-compliant mobile theme using this method?
it looks like a lot of stuff from the “normal” theme is being passed through to the mobile theme. Do I need to go through and deactivate things? How do I do this without affecting the main theme?

And I’m confused about basic problems such as the mandatory AMP “lightning bolt” attribute missing from the HTML tag. Seems like the mobile theme or AMP plugin should be taking care of this?

Thanks,
Peter.

Hi,

No need for the head script code to be entered, it will be loaded automatically. Just enter the ad code in the theme panel. For example – http://prntscr.com/ns7kg3

Ads should begin to appear after a while, for some the appear within minutes, but I have seen cases when they appeared after about 2 days.

Thanks

Hi,

I first tested the caption color and font settings available in the composer for the post content element, they seem to work – http://prntscr.com/ns75cuhttp://prntscr.com/ns75io

For the image caption alignment there is a similar topic here, could be useful to you
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/wordpress-5-0-issue/

If I misunderstand the problem, let me know. Post some examples of the problem and a link to where I can see it if possible.

Thanks

Hi,

Seems to work when I try your Instagram ID – http://prntscr.com/ns6zy3
A suggestion would be to clear the cache if you use any. Check if that solves the problem. Also try as a test to enter a different ID like cocacola for example
http://prntscr.com/ns70bw

If the problem remains we could take a look at it. Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login and we will investigate. Include a link to this topic in the email.

Thanks

Hey all, got a weird one for you.

https://www.flashover.com.au/?page_id=9493&preview=true

Check out this page, that’s a cover image that seems to be hanging way over to the left out of the page. The same happens if I use a “text with image” block with Gutenberg. Any ideas?

Hi all,

I’m not sure where it’s best to put in suggestions for new feature – however, i would love to see a native support for two major things in the nex Flex Block:

1st:
Allow user to set a custom date format for the Flex Block’s date-element like l - j. F 'y and so on. (Would allow us to fx list a weekday, which could be useful, in some cases – but we don’t what it all over out site)

Custom date format

2nd:
Allow article grouping by date.

Example:
Example of grouping by date

My Leverage Browser Caching Score on GTMetrix has dropped to F(22) a while ago. It used to be A(100). I followed all the steps mentioned here: https://tagdiv.com/how-to-increase-page-loading-speed/

My overall PageSpeed Score & YSlow Score on GTMetrix have dropped to B(86%) & C(72%) respectively. Whereas they used to be A(98%) & B(84%) respectively. Here’s the report: https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.wentdiary.com/vJCkk4Sv

I am sure I didn’t make any changes to my website just updated the theme. What happened?
