Hi,

Thats the best way to scale (traffic) the theme?

I just trafficed it on my server and pretty quickly killed it 😀 server just rebooting. I have had offer sides which haven’t hat problems with this mass of traffic.

Is it possible to outsource the assets of the theme to a cdn?

Any best practices for caching this theme? wordpress lite cache didn’t made it through the day 🙁

thx I appreciate your experiences and ideas.

Tried clearing the cache and nothing. I just double checked the file and the autoplay code is still there so im assuming that the file was updated correctly?

Hi,

Usually this method solves this problem, check if the file was updated and clear the cache files and try again.

Thank’s for your question

Hi,
Please can you give us access to your WP to take a look. Send via email at contact@tagdiv.com

The views should work, is from a cache, is not enough to disable the W3 total cache, you need to delete it or give an empty cache.

Thanks for the message!

Hi,
Do you use W3 total cache? you need to implement a solution that work with cache. If your page is cached the views will not work. A solution that you can try is here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/wp-postviews-post-view-counter-alternative-for-w3-total-cache/

Thanks!

Typically after a major update to any theme, I find I have to “expire” the existing cached content on our CDN, so that the CDN captures and caches the NEW content.

simchris

1) remove all external loading elements like social media, advertising, recaptcha, and anything which loads css or js as part of its content; anything not part of the theme

2) use the minification tools I’ve suggested in the pagespeed sticky topic – such as online minification tools, or use the GTMetrix optimized versions provided during the site scan

Basically you need to take the CSS and JS files which PageSpeed is saying need to be minified, and then copy those from your theme directory, minify them, then save the minified version over the original.

One tool to minify the CSS is here:
http://cssminifier.com/

or
http://gpbmike.github.io/refresh-sf/

After you have your minified versions, say of style.css you would need to FTP the minified version(s) to your web site into the wp-content/themes/newspaper folder in the appropriate place.

NOTE: you need to clear all caching, turn OFF caching, and then upload the optimized versions, so that the new versions get cached not the old ones.

3) see 2

If you have a page speed of “82”
then be sure to
1) have faster web hosting account
2) ensure that gzip/deflate are working on your server (mandatory!)
3) enable expires headers (mandatory!)
4) optimize your images

All of this is well covered in the PageSpeed sticky topic in the forum. Optimization of your server, content, and htaccess or nginx config files are not part of the theme.

There is no way for you to optimize external content such as AdSense, AddThis, Recaptcha, Disqus, etc. which are not being served on your actual site.

For max speed you will need to use web safe fonts (not Google fonts), and then comment out the fonts in your functions.php file.

need to know how to properly do :

#1 Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content
#2 Minify JavaScript
#3 Minify CSS

in order to improve page speed… 69/Mobile 82/Desktop

Im using W3 total cache with

#1 Page cache:enabled
#2 Database Cache:enabled
#3 Object Cache:enabled
#4 Browser Cache:enabled

and tagDiv speed booster

Thank you

Hello, I am having the same problems.

I have W3 Total Cache with only active Page Cache module, but the cache is not updated the same for all browsers.

In Chrome takes time, Firefox and more. For example, in Firefox now shows me the cache of the day May 23. Although tap Empty all caches, not renewed.

Hi.

I noticed that the post views is only showing 10 to 20% of the visits (I know it because I compare with Google Analytics).
I saw people asking for help because their post views stopped working or because it is not counting. That’s not my case. In my website it looks to work fine but it is only showing a small part of the visits. By the way, I have disabled most of Yoast SEO plugin features and I don’t have W3 Cache plugin too.

What can I do to fix it ?

Radu A

hi,
is the first time I hear about this.
please try to deactivate all the plugins, and delete the cache ones (they tend to remain active even if you disable them).

you can also try a clean install on another computer, just wordpress and the theme, no plugins, to test if is really comes from the theme.

you can also update to the latest version, please be sure to backup everything before – files and database.

Thanks for you message.

I don’t have W3 Total Cache installed. So should I just go back to an earlier version?

Steven

@Marius you are saying that SEO by Yoast is what have postviews to not work, well i was using that plugin for months now,and when i bought this theme i was still using it and my post views was working as entended, since you guys update the theme last week postviews on new post stop working and all the old post views stop updating, also i’m not using no W3 cache plugin either because i don’t like that plugin so i just have a feeling when you guys update the theme last week something went wrong in the update just like when something went wrong with the VC till you guys went back and fixed that issue with the VC.

I really don’t like W3 TOTAL Cache plugin all it do is messed up your site, the best cache plugin to used is “WP Super Cache”.

When i first bought this theme postviews was working great, till the last update of this theme last week,i’m not using no W3 CACHE plugin are no postviews plugin, something was done to the update last week of this theme that make post views stop working…

I re-installed w3-total-cache and uninstall it from plugin dictionary manually. I don’t want to use w3 total cache, or alternative post views..

Why you advice w3 total cache despite this count problem?

dan21

Hello, with VK shares – it turned out to be the cache bug, but with Google+ – it’s a mystery. Once it makes big thumbs, the other day with same posts – small ones. May be googlers are switching it on and off again))

@fabriciosahdo – please consider moving to a more powerful server and also read this thread to optimize your hosting account / configurations. We sell the exact code that is on our demo (100% the same) the difference is that our server is configured well.

It is very hard to get 90+ on pagespeed and the server configuration, all the plugins and ads influence the score. I personally invested over three weeks to optimize all the aspects of the theme to run as smooth as possible. On top of that Marius spent a lot of time optimizing all the resources.

The server response time at your end is not good: http://screencast.com/t/F32WTB4M5HoC this means that the server is not powerfull enought to deliver a page on time. It may be that you are not using a caching plugin (like the one we recommend – w3 total cache) it may also be from the fact that php is running with no opcache.

please contact me via email contact@tagdiv.com (add FOR RADU in the subject and a link to this thread in the email) I can send you the full amount paid for the theme back. I can also help you out to make it faster if you are on a vps or dedicated server. If you are on a shared host there is nothing I can do to optimize the server. I would also recommend that you test your server with another similar theme.

hi,
you have the option to go back to the privies version.
might be a problem related to a cache plugin. please disable all plugins and try again.

if you are using W3 Total Cache be sure to remove it completely, as we had situation where we disable it and it was still active.

Thanks for you message.
