hi,
The new dark theme is very good in newspaper 7 theme. However, i am unable to find an option to change my current theme to dark layout. I have some pages built using Visualcomposer and would also like the posts to follow the dark theme.

V 2.3.6 is tested and mobile menu and search button works fine. You said that is a new install but after I looked on your test website where you have V 2.3.6 instilled I’ve seen a custom page structure which is not generated by the theme. This container breaks theme’s layout: http://screencast.com/t/svERL3plO so you have to adjust it’s style or remove it from page source.
Try to install the theme again and make sure you do a clean update. By this I mean that you have to delete previous install and upload new themes files via WordPress or vis ftp. Also deactivate all others plugins except Visual Composer and test the theme again, without making any changes in its code, or whiteout any additional plugins.

This was the decision of the author theme that the next version of the Newspaper to be version 7. So, the Social Counter is tested to works fine for both version 6.7.2 and also, 7.0. Please notice that you are using the right version of the plugin depending on the version of the theme you are using -> for version 7.0 you have to use the Social Counter 4.0 and for version 6.7.2 you have to use the Social Counter 3.2 and in both cases you have to use the Visual Composer 4.11.2. Also, please try this without any untested plugins which can interfere with our theme and could cause a lot of unknown issues. Install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. After these changes, please ensure that you have cleared all your caches, purged your CDN files if you are using these and check again the results.

Please update your theme to the latest ‘newspaper 7’, and try this without any plugins. plugin conflicts can cause issues with video playlists. Please deactivate all of theme except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files.

I have checked your website and I saw that you are using some untested plugins which could interfere with the theme and create a lot of unknown issues. To be sure, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. It seems the js code you are trying to insert is an add code. Ad codes will not work from the custom javascript code. You can try to insert them in the theme ad spots or inside a text block or a raw js element in visual composer. http://screencast.com/t/9ja9ZfKNaSld
Plaease follow the google implementation methods as some ads have to be added in the theme files inside the html head tag. That is found in the root folder of the theme in the header.php file.

After WordPress updated at V 4.5 there appeared a jQuery conflict in our theme. We fixed this conflict and the current theme version available on themeforest works fine, also we included last version of Visual Composer plugin.

You’re still not using image’s thumb for your grid as can be seen here: http://screencast.com/t/lgynoqdDsCmV This is image’s url displayed in big grid but not links to a thumb, it links to a re-sized image.
Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge cdn files if you’re using then regenerate the thumbs again. Also if you made any changes in theme’s core files make sure they don’t break images cop system.

The theme comes with these blocks that you can use as you wish on pages and on the sidebars from the wp widgets area. A block can be a grid, can be a slide, it;s basically a theme element. you can see all the theme elements you can use in visual composer under the blocks tab (or the “all tab”): http://screencast.com/t/ieVpps3ozVL
In our live demo you can see these blocks live under the “features” menu item.
In order to have access to blocks in visual composer you need to edit a page and click the add element button from visual composer. I’m not sure how to describe this better than the documentation…maybe this will help:

Please try to disable all your plugins except visual composer and clear cache again to rule out a plugin conflict. We have no such reports yet of the theme update causing these issues. Please provide a link to your site so we can inspect it.

Thanks for the help, I see that. The problem is that my site is made up mostly by lists and I added the ads with visual composer as an adblock, This work for me very good. Now when i activate the thing it just shows the visual composer code. I wish three was a solution for this as the mobile theme is much faster. Also I would like to know how to add adsense footer ads as they are also not showing. (code is in the head)

I’m getting a Fatal error message when trying to activate Visual Composer:

Visual Composer says the issue is because there is a Visual Composer related code present in your theme added by the theme author. You will have to get rid of it. I would advise you to do so with the help of theme author, otherwise you might loose the extra elements added by him. Once this is done, you can install the standalone plugin and it will work fine. Kindly check.
When I click on the Visual Composer icon to edit my page it is prompting me to pay. How do I fix this?

The new version of the theme just came out this week, so you might try updating now?
The theme *was* updated for WP 4.5x a couple of weeks ago and has been working fine over here.
You also need to update all the included plugins with the theme, and not the theme by itself; clear your caching, reswt CDN, turn off all plugins except visual composer to make sure site works with base elements.
Not sure that helps, but that is what I went through.

I also moved via this issue, and i found that its due to some plugins which were not supported in the latest WordPress.
So you need to deactivate all the plugins except Visual Composer and install the new template files. Then you will found the website will work perfectly. After that activate each plugin one by one by checking whether any errors occurring or not. You can easily spot the plugin which is causing this error easily.

Yes it’s working now because i wipe my server and reinstall wordpress theme and newpaper.
but now I have another problem. before I had a visual overview of different predefined template when I created a page. Now I have just their names.
Also when I go to dial in visual product license, it says:

Hi, in my case social counter block doesn´t appear when I choose to add an element from visual composer. I re-installed the social counter plugin but nothing happens.
I feel that this is a problem with Visual Composer. Perhaps? Help! 🙂

Thanks a lot for the reply, my Newspaper version is 6.7.2 (I updated it 2 days ago, and didi not know there was a 7).
Problem: Facebook counter does not count. Youtube counter works OK.
Steps I have done:
– Deacivate and delete Social Counter plugin
– Delete cache
– Deactivate Newspaper theme, installed version 6.7.2, and activated it
– Installed again Social Counter (3.2)
– Updated Visual Composer to 4.11.2
but still Social counter does not work with FB.
