HI

Thanks for your suggestion, I’ve added it on our list and developers will consider it for future updates. For the moment this is not a priority but if more people will make similar requests we will make a similar demo.

Thanks!

Hi

On classic blog demo we use header style 11 which don’t have a limit for logo. Try to create a custom image by a size which you ting will fits best on your site then upload it in wordpress and use it as logo, the theme won’t affect it’s size in any way.
Are you referring at homepage post block from Visual Composer: http://screencast.com/t/uzTrha8kyvcc If so then you can change its fonts from theme panel > theme fonts: http://screencast.com/t/ZG0Riynnc

Hope this helps.
Thanks!

Hello VittorioC93,

As for the image sizes, there is no ideal image size I can recommend. You will have to assess the containers and thumbs you plan on using on your site and the post templates as well. If you use post templates that use the full-size images like http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-2015-awards-all-of-the-best-and-worst-moments-from-the-show/ then a full-width image is required. If not, you need to inspect every element, in particular on the homepage. If you use big grids, your images must be at least the size of the big grid container. Otherwise, they will not fit inside and not display correctly. Here is a list of all thumbs used in our theme:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/ also -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-vs-featured-image-size/

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello,
I have Newspaper 7 installed. Everything seems to work, but some of the sorting options in Visual Composer don’t work. Random posts and Oldest Posts are two examples.

I have tried this without any cache plugin, with every plugin but Visual Composer installed. I have cleaned and optimized my database, and I even tried manually adding the code to the post.

Nothing seems to work.

Any ideas?

Here’s an example:

[vc_row][vc_column][td_block_trending_now category_id=”902″ category_ids=”902″][td_block_big_grid_3][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class="td-ss-row"][vc_column width="1/3"][td_block_18 custom_title=”Vida PrĂĄtica” header_text_color=”#ffffff” header_color=”#1e73be” category_id=”11″ limit=”12″ ajax_pagination=”next_prev”][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3"][td_block_18 custom_title=”De Olho na MĂdia” header_text_color=”#ffffff” header_color=”#00b584″ category_id=”10″ limit=”12″ ajax_pagination=”next_prev”][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3"][vc_widget_sidebar sidebar_id="td-td_demo_sidebar_tech"][td_block_7 custom_title="Mais Lidas" post_ids="528,486,491,220,420,509,568,490,519,515" sort="oldest_posts" limit="10"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="2/3"][td_block_1 custom_title="Doutrina CristĂŁ" header_text_color="#ffffff" header_color="#c48211" category_id="12"][td_block_21 custom_title=”Mitos e Fatos” header_text_color=”#ffffff” header_color=”#b52020″ category_id=”9″ limit=”4″ ajax_pagination=”next_prev”][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3"][td_block_7 custom_title="VocĂȘ jĂĄ leu?" sort="random_posts"][vc_wp_tagcloud taxonomy="post_tag"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][td_block_16 custom_title=”DĂșvidas Comuns” header_text_color=”#ffffff” header_color=”#c9b100″ category_id=”16″][td_block_16 custom_title=”Últimas Postagens” header_text_color=”#ffffff” header_color=”#145791″ limit=”10″ ajax_pagination=”next_prev”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Hello,

I am trying to make the header at top (my logo) larger – it imports at a very small size and I would like it to look like the classic blog demo featured on your website.

Also I can’t find where to change the font for the blog post header on my home page.

Thanks,

Holly

Hi 🙂
I’ve installed the “Say What” demo.

Which would be the ideal proportions for featured images so they display properly in all homepage blocks?

Thank you!

Hello redarmy,

The site is made using our Default Theme, without content, with yours content and layout. If you want to achieve something like this, you will have to install our theme with Default Demo and then, using the Inspector tool, you can notice what type of elements are using in that website and then you should implement/add on your side. We made a tutorial which may be helpful in this regard: https://forum.tagdiv.com/create-custom-code-using-the-browsers-inspector/

Thanks for your understanding!

HI

The theme does not control how Facebook display content picked by its sharer. Indeed it usually works without the scrape but this is not theme’s related, if you check our demo this issue is not there. Sometimes facebook won’t index automatically a new post because of huge amount of data which must be fetched. So you can “force” facebook to index your post by running a fresh scrape as I’ve indicated above.
Also there can be a slow response from the server. When facebook read the page which is shared, it won’t wait to much for requested data. If the response is to slow or for some reasons is blocked the content won’t be displayed properly. You can try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear the caches and check if the problem is still there.

Thanks!

Hi

Demo won’t affect your site’s content. If you import the demo with content your pots will remain untouched, this also happens if you want to uninstall the demo.

Thanks!

Hi, I’d like to change the background colors of the posts in the grid of the “Tech News” demo.

How do you make the colors depend on the post category, or a custom setting in each post? The colors currently, are just arbitrary.

This is what I’m talking about.

How to change the background colors of these links?

Thanks for a quick reply.
A video tutorial is understandable, thanks.

One more question: I’ve got my own posts.
Will demo data replace existing posts after apply ?

Insert or replace method?

Andrei L.
tagDiv Member

Hi

On the indicated demo use use page-builder+latest article as page template. Please check this links for more details about pages templates and how to use Visual Composer: https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-templates-2/https://forum.tagdiv.com/homepage-how-to-build-and-set-it/https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/

You can also import the demo on a test install to get more familiar with theme’s features and have an overall view about how they work.
Let us know if you need further assistance on this.
Thanks!

Hello diablo7,

I have inspected your website and I did not saw any irregularity. I guess that you want to report why the author name does not appear on Block 7 and what the featured images are too small? Please check to our demo here -> http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-7/ and you will notice that this is the general layout for this type of Block.

If is not what you mean, please provide more details about what you want to achieve and also, you can provide a screen a screen pointing to the desired result, it would help us to understand what you’re trying to do.

Thanks.

Hello Jad,

Please notice that you will have to edit the function will get the srcset and sizes, look like in this image here -> http://screencast.com/t/bFjXL8tTuw (you will have to add the line code that appears in blue box in my screenshot) and then, the function will return nothing and the browser will use the link from src source. Otherwise, if you want to keep the scrset and sizes, you will have to use the search and replace method for all variables which contain the URL’s -> http://screencast.com/t/0ntcqi51xlc You will have to replace that link -> http://localhost:8888/MR/ with http://www.melarumors.com/ and then you have to find a PHP function which does this task, for example here -> http://www.w3schools.com/php/showphp.asp?filename=demo_func_string_str_replace.
Please notice that is not a simple task and if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom services at the moment, sorry!

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!

There are 2 options for Template:
1- use static page – screenshot – http://screencast.com/t/u4VZne0oJP
2- use last post – screenshot – http://screencast.com/t/sOMqgimW0r6y

Could you advise hot to organize such layout http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_medicine/ ?

Can’t find such info about main page here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-documentation/ 🙁

I have based my settings on one of the demos. But I

can’t seem to modify this green color that appear here and

there from the “news magazine demo”. I’ve checked “Theme Panel / Theme Colors” and “general theme colors, main menu colors / mobile menu colors. But still as the page load the green lines are shown in the menu as the page loads.. it’s replaced by my settings once the page has loaded completely but it looks a bit strange.

I also disabled / enabled speed booster plugin to see if it’s cache related.. but no.

Are there more color settings?

Why isn’t there an easy way to just swap out the images for the demos? I would think that is the main reason customers would want to purchase the themes/demos is to save them time in building a site from scratch and just swap out the main background images. I don’t know how to code so I need to be able to replace images and add new images to the theme. I don’t know where to go to that code screen you shared with me. Where is that program at? I just need to change out the overlay background image on the travel demo. The posts I can just delete and make new ones.

Hello Jakru,

Please keep in mind that each demo has an own style which is loaded when you install that demo. This is not a simple task to change the default style to look like as Travel Demo, for example (these customizations involve custom work). So, if you want this layout, you will have to install that demo and then you can customize it after your desire. As you can see here -> http://screencast.com/t/Lcx68y2HAzvg
For more information about our demos, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/

Hi

That error appears because the slide named animals_slider is missing from your wp. That slide is included in theme’s path: http://screencast.com/t/4GeUhwJKQ and you can import it in your wordpress following this link: https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-revolution-sliders-on-demos/

Hope this helps!
Thanks!

Hi jmask,

If you want to add a category image for each category which has template style 8, please notice that you should use a bit of CSS code in order to achieve this. So, first of all, you will have to take the category ID for what category you want to add the image and that, with the background-image rule of CSS you can add your desired image. Below, I gave you an example for one category, like this ->

The code is ->

.category-89 .td-category-header.td-image-gradient-style8 {
background-image: url(http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/login-mod.jpg);
background-size:100% 100%;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
border-color:red;
}

The result you should see here -> http://screencast.com/t/cxIhL9poCkUC

For your second request, if you want to add some content or spot, please notice that you should use the do_shortcode method with some Visual Composer element (as an example Text Block) and then, the shortcode of it, you can add in td_category_template_8.php like this -> http://screencast.com/t/oZDdl9FjV
If you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!

Thanks for your understanding!
