Hello,
There is no ideal featured image size. You can read about featured images here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-vs-featured-image-size/ As an example, the post style uses 1904×1269 thumbnail. The best image quality is achieved when the image is not stretched which means you need to upload a larger image than these parameters (width and height). The sort order in search template should be by latest, you can check it also on our demo – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/?s=
Try to disable all your plugins except of Visual Composer, clear cache and see if you still have this issue. Also if you have some custom modifications to the theme files please remove them.

Are you sure it’s a block 15? Because block 15 does not have author and date in the 1 column version: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-15/
ANyway, you can achieve this by targeting the meta info with CSS like so:
.td-ss-main-sidebar .td_block_6 .td-module-meta-info{
display:none;
}
I used a block 6, but you can change the number of the block in the code to the one you use.

I have set up Newspaper theme with demo data for local test.
When I add Block “Slide” into my homepage, everything is fine. And I move forward to change silder settings with Ajax dropdown “Filter by categories”.
But the ajax dropdown above Slide dosen’t work well when I try to click the category link.
I check chrome devtools console and the message shows that “Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected end of input”.
I don’t know if this is a bug, or this is just problem caused by my local environment setting error.

Unfortunately the big grid you are pointing comes from the Newsmag theme. You can chose a different big grid for your homepage. Here you can try them out and there styles: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-1/
As an alternative you can use the big grid slide block which resembles the one ion newsmag on the mobile version: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-slide/ (it needs to be set to at least 8 posts)
You can force the slide to display like the one on newsmag but it is no easy task. You can follow this topic if you want to tackle this challenge: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/big-grid-on-the-mobile/

When you install the demo without content only the settings are loaded, colors, fonts etc. The content must be created by the user. HI, I have several admins on the blog and my fear is that one of them might decide to install one of the demos found on the theme panel in WordPress dashboard and we will lose all our content to the new demo.
My question; Is it possible to remove the Demos link once the site is up and running? If yes, then How?
and can it be turned back at will?

I have been working on your theme to launch a new site for our magazine and radio station. Here is the link – http://soultravellerradio.com
As you can see I have added a bunch of code to include our radio station player up the top.
I have a couple of issues.
Firstly whenever I go to share a post to facebook it comes up with more than just image, header and summary. It shows date, share options, the breadcrumbs. Yet on the demo it showed none of this.
Secondly, When using a smart list, if I add a featured image it messes up the smart list, however not adding a featured image means that it is not displayed properly. You will see on my site that I have not included the image for the smart list called Five to Thrive. How do we add the featured image but stop it showing on the actual post page.
How you can answer these issues. We are hoping to finish the site off to go live on the weekend.

One thing though, I have noticed the background picture on the travel demo is not responsive but moves to a central place when on mobile, is there any thing I can do to achieve responsiveness?
If I use a background image that has text, most of the words on the image will be cut off on mobile.
