Hi,
What I can suggest is to try to optimize the website, in this way ou can resolve a part of the core web vitals problems. If you want you can try our guide https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Thanks
Hello Calin,
Thank you for your reply.
Hostgator is asking me to check with the theme provider & plugins and you are asking me to check with hostgator 🙂 .
I don’t have many plugins, since I hate to have more plugins.
I have only 13 plugins which including newspaper plugins 6 nos.
I had the Post Revisions plugin which didn’t get updated for the last 4 years, so I have deleted it now.
The rest of them are having regular updates.
Yes I understand that PHP 8 will be faster, that is the reason I updated but not sure why its affecting performance.
May I know anyother options to check the root cause of the slowness? I will try other possibilities as well.
One more question, how long Newspaper theme will support PHP 7.4?
Thank You
Giri
Hello,
This is a strange case, normally the php v8 is usually proving better speed for most of users. Maybe you have something (a plugin or something) that is not 100% compatible with the php version, or maybe something like this.
For the moment using the Newspaper theme and php v8 have 2 types of users, those how can use it and is working faster and those who has problems when used the php v8 because of a plugin conflict or some deprecated code.
In some cases, the host can help you identify where the problem could come from.
Thank you!
I love this theme but the development team constantly gives irrelevant advice on OPTIMIZATION and they ignore it. There are many themes with similar features to this theme and they work faster. I had to change 2 companies because 1 month Newspaper theme consumes server resources like crazy. Help team is excellent, theme features are excellent but they are not good at OPTIMIZATION.

Bettina can I get a refund and go back to Elementor builder? IT was much better you have a better layout and newspaper style but Elementor worked for me 5x better and faster, with no issues in the dashboard. I can’t explain to the owner that the problem is server, this is too much really for me and I want to sort this out.
Thanks
Hello, it happened to me too. The theme even caused server conection errors. It s bassically that it consumes more resourses, you probably need a better server. I updated mine and my web works faster than ever with this theme. Regards!
Hello @reufjaha !
I’m sorry to hear about this. Please note that every page speed needs some improvement, and it is not enough to install a plugin alone because there are many factors which can affect your page speed quality.
Some factors which you need to take into account are:
External factors: server speed, if you are using CDN or not, the external resources loaded by your website like ads, fonts, tracking scripts like Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, Twitter analytics, Hotjar and so on.
Internal factors: the number of elements on the page, image size, image formats, if you are using mobile optimized layouts, console errors, if you are using the Standard Pack plugin or not, if you are using the PRO demo or a standard one.

I’ve been very interested in this topic for a long time. I’m always looking for discussions everywhere about the topic of AMP or mobile-optimized website themes.
The mobile theme on the newspaper in my opinion is the best choice right now if you want something faster than other themes.
If you install it with AMP it will be an even better choice, but with the big drawback of removing all existing designs. It’s the same as mobile Themes but even faster.
From my latest analysis, if your website is designed for news using AMP is the best choice because you will get exclusive rights from Google that carries this AMP, I recommend it for now.
But if your website is fast before using AMP or mobile themes I don’t think it’s necessary.
*The benefits of using a mobile theme, AMP or mobile theme + AMP differ from choice;
>If you only use a mobile theme, it is possible that other plugins that you apply will work optimally with a simple mobile website appearance.
>If you only use AMP, it allows the website to be faster but very simple and will execute plugins that are not optimal with AMP or do not support AMP.
>If you only use mobile + AMP themes, I’m actually quite confused by this but the mobile website will have 2 versions namely mobile and AMP themes that visitors can choose from.
**Simply put, both mobile and AMP themes aim to make visitors or readers who come can access the page quickly and visitors who have very – very slow internet (even for users who are still using 3G networks) will be happy to access the AMP site.

Hi,
The sub-footer, just as the footer, can be customized with the composer. You can add padding and margins for everything, if you want to create more space https://i.imgur.com/B9jKuxR.png
There are also empty space elements you can add for more space https://i.imgur.com/kEy01bS.png
There are multiple ways of designing the footer and sub-footer with the composer. Our example footers use all kinds of designs https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Footers
If you want us to help with the design you are looking to achieve, it will be easier and faster if we can see the website and provide assistance directly on it. I suggest sending us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to the website and admin login. Also mention how you want the sub-footer to look exactly. We will help.
Thank you!
Hi,
There is a delay indeed, the menu loads when the website fully loads. And the website loads in about 7 seconds https://i.imgur.com/dqGHg1Z.png
There are various errors, including a 404 for an image, I would suggest dealing with that first. A simple 404 error can delay the loading of the website a lot.
The 404 seems to be for an image, this one https://i.imgur.com/UjLuTYH.png
It is preloaded in the header, but it doesn’t exist https://www.reisverhalen.info/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/20200321320f757d-aa1f-6338-f08f-010c10616507.jpg?ezimgfmt=ng%3Awebp%2Fngcb5
I think it is set in the footer somewhere https://i.imgur.com/ZEGMV8r.png
I suggest editing the footer with the composer, and checking every row in it, to see if there is a background image set for one for them https://i.imgur.com/3z00siB.png The option to remove should be there if there is an image set, remove it or replace it. Once that is done, clear the cache and check if the website loads faster. Let me know.
Thank you!
Hi,
If there was a mobile page set for the desktop page, then that would explain why modifications made to the desktop page weren’t affecting the mobile page. The mobile page has to be modified as well.
But if you removed the mobile page https://i.imgur.com/ZlrHtRx.png then the changes should be visible at all times, since it is the same page on desktop and mobile.
I suggest sending us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and there please provide a link to the website and admin login. Also mention in the email an example of a change you are making on the page and it is not applying properly. It will be faster this way, if we can check the problem directly on the website. Let me know.
Thank you!

Hi Gen Fujiwara,
Indeed, the theme provide by default the responsive version. Also it provides the mobile theme plugin that has a pre-made template that can not be edited, but it can do the mobile version faster then the responsive version.
Now, the mobile page templates, those are cloud templates made for mobile version, in this way you can have a different content/layout on mobile and you can edit it after your needs with the tagDiv Composer.
So our theme has in the end 3 possibilities for the mobile version:
1. Responsive version, this is by default when you install the theme and you do not use mobile page or mobile theme plugin.
2. Mobile page/template this allows you to create with tagDiv Composer and cloud a different layout and set different elements for mobile and iPad/tablet and it will overwrite the responsive version.
3. Mobile theme plugin, this is a light theme version for mobile that will overwrite the mobile page and responsive version if enabled.
So when you have a mobile page/template this will be used instead of a responsive version, but if you also have the mobile theme enabled, this one will override both of them.
How to combine them? Yes, this can be possible, for example the mobile page/template will apply only on that page or cloud template that is assigned. But what to do if you want to use a mobile theme plugin too? If you use mobile theme, in Gutenberg editor it is an option to disable the mobile theme in current post/page, if you use the option, then it will be use the mobile page/template (if is assigned) or the responsive version.
So in your case you can disable the mobile theme on the homepage -> https://i.imgur.com/NX57q4t.png or if you do not want it at all, disable the plugin or use it only for amp -> https://i.imgur.com/Grlz5Ee.png.
Here is also a video that explains all those -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
Hope this will help you!
Hi,
Indeed, the mobile theme was made to remove the shortcodes, so the mobile version become faster.
If I’m right the code for this was implemented in this file -> wp-content/plugins/td-mobile-plugin/td-mobile-plugin.php
Also, you can display the modified date using this option -> https://i.imgur.com/6qotPb8.png
Thank you!

Hi,
So, if the settings are set as in our guide -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ it should work correctly, but if is not, if you can provide wp-admin access, we can take a look and see what we can done. For this, please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide temporary wp-admin access.
Thank you!
I use EWWW Image Optimizer (from your recommend) to convert image to WebP but it conflict with theme’s GENERAL MODAL IMAGE (Lightbox) and Lazyload feature
1.When I enable WebP Delivery in EWWW (disable EWWW’s Lazyload) and enable theme’s Lazyload + GENERAL MODAL IMAGE feature my website will load both original image (Jpg) and WebP in the same time (data from chrome develvop Tools (Fn+12)) so it make website more slow down
It this case GENERAL MODAL IMAGE feature can work properly
2.When I disable Theme’s lazyload (GENERAL MODAL IMAGE feature still enable) and Enable Lazyload + WebP Delivery in EWWW the result is WebP feature working properly but image in GENERAL MODAL IMAGE not load when I click on it
3.everything work correctly when I disable GENERAL MODAL IMAGE feature but I still need this feature
Can you solve this problem for me please?
Hello,
I think the problem is that you use Google Fonts and Siteground has the option to optimize the fonts enabled https://www.siteground.com/blog/even-faster-wordpress-sites-with-our-sg-optimizer-plugin/
You can try to ask the host if they can help you, maybe I’m wrong and this option is not to blame.
Thank you!

Unfortunately, not quite so simple, there is a tutorial (https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/), but really much, you get out unfortunately not. You can do a lot with Cloudflare, but only with the Pro version and of course if you optimize WpRocket a little bit (https://www.andraware.com/wp-rocket-for-newspaper-theme/)
If it’s your own server, you can get a lot out of it with Nginx and Redis in conjunction with W3C Cache. And of course in which one throws for example some from the head (rds etc.)

Hello!
I’m sorry to hear about this. Please note that every page speed needs some improvement, and it is not enough to install the theme alone because there are many factors which can affect your page speed quality.
Some factors which you need to take into account are:
