Hi,
It seems that Yoast is not aware of the posts pagination used on theme’s latest articles section. You could try to filter the canonical element and not return it for your homepage using wp’s conditionals.

I noticed, that your solution only works on categorys. But in this case it’s the wrong canonical (yoast does it right on catgeorys) and I got two canonicals there.

Maybe you know a solution to disalbe the Yoast canonical tag, but only for the paged frontpage-pages?

Please check your homepage as your sidebar on your home page is probably created in visual composer on a split row.
There are 2 ways of having a sidebar on a page at the moment. There is a sidebar you can add from the widgets area or a sidebar you create yourself on the page using a split row in visual composer. Here is an example and probably what you have on your site as well: http://screencast.com/t/RL2eJKMre

I guess that you want to display the BBpress on your homepage using a block which filtrates the forums topics
in the same way that the posts are displayed by category, right? Please notice that it is not possible in our theme because the theme has not been designed to be used in this case, sorry! If you want to display more levels in our theme and if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!

Hi there,
I am an enthusiastic user of Newspaper since april. I had a optimized child theme with few and unimportant changes.
It was performing really well, scoring 86-90 on Google Speed Test with no critical problem.
Yesterday I had the awful idea to update it using the ThemeForest updating plugin.
I updated the theme to 7.4 with all the plugins, but my speed terribly dropped. Now no matter how hard I try to work on plugins, cache and other optimization tools, results are poor. Google Speed Test also started to warn about image dimension (all adv not under my control), a warning never showed before.
Not only: visual composer added some information on my homepage I didn’t want to show (like author and comments) and made the Homepage extremely slow.
What happened?
I did nothing technical, just updating to a new version using official tools.
What can I do?

After login your WordPress Dashboard, go to your website’s homepage and click edit page on the dashboard navigation

I need to display custom field to my posts.
I have tried to do this with the “Templatic Bagde Plugin” and it works fine when you are in the post but everywhere else on the website (slider, blocks etc.) all the html tag goes away and it remains only text.
For example i have added to a post called “Todays News” the text “-20% Discount” on my homepage when you see this post you see the Title “Todays NEWS -20% Discount” the formating of the badge is gone when i look to the code i see that the span tag is gone. When you click on the post Its working fine.
My need is to display a badge with a discount precentage to specific posts and this badge need to be on this post everywhere on the page like his Title for example.
My Question is How can i do this with your template? Or Can you suggest a plugin that does this?

Homepage blocks now say each post was made “3 years ago”… the rest of the site is fine, the problem is only with the homepage blocks

At the moment the homepage is fixed and there are no settings for it. In the future we do plan on adding more options to the mobile theme but i cannot provide an ETA on it as it’s still to early to tell.

Unfortunately there is no option for that in our theme. Our blocks you can use on the homepage will not show the entire posts. They only grab the post title and create an excerpt but they are not post themselves. They are a sor of preview of the post but with a different implementation. You cannot get the whole post content directly on that page. sorry

I’m trying to design a homepage but keep running into some problems. Is it possible to have a grid that displays, say 6 posts, from various categories and below that have blocks that show individual categories. The problem I’m having is that a post will show up in both the grid and the individual category. Is there a way to make it so it only shows up in the grid until new articles push it from the grid to the individual category block?

In fact, the thing is that in my different tests, the zoom effect work only ONE TIME.
When I go on my website, the zoom effect is working fine, but if I go on a page or article and then I go back to my homepage, the zoom effect is not working anymore.
Can you guys at tagdiv do the same test and confirm that the zoom effect is still working when visiting a page and going back to the homepage ?

Hello, i have been using the demo of the newspaper black version to set up my site.
There seem to miss some blocks/elements between the “video playlist” block and the footer.
When i try to change the default homepage/front page with visual composer using “edit” under pages, i lack a couple of blocks/elements to configure.
I cannot change or see any blocks/elements under the “video playlist” youtube playlist element thats in the default page.
There is simply nothing below there to configure, it only says “add element”.
How can i remove/configure the blocks and elements that is allready showing on my site and should be below the video playlist? (latest articles, advertisement etc. the blocks above the footer between videoplaylist thats there by default)
Will it be easiest to create a new homepage from scratch, containing the blocks and elements i want?
As there is no option to change the last elements with the gui and visual composer.
Also; is it possible to configure the “editor picks, popular post and popular category” in the footer?
